Two BR, Two BA Condo With Garage. Sleeps 4 Comfortably, King And Two Twin Beds

Imagine what you would enjoy finding in a rental condo that would make you feel at home. Our spacious 1350 square ft duplex condo with ten-foot ceilings is just that – our own dream vacation home away from home for several months each year, comfortable, well supplied and well maintained. It is directly across from a talcum powdered white sandy beach – no need to move your car from the garage and fight the traffic. It is popularly used for walking, running, playing volleyball, kite flying or just collecting beautiful shells and relaxing. It was voted the #1 Beach in the USA in 2011 by the acclaimed Dr Beach. There are lifeguards available all year. Every Sunday night there are drummers who say good-by to the sunset. It is a fun, family event. There is always lots of space to spread out, and a concession stand and bathrooms are available.

We are situated among beautifully maintained gardens and a lake that has migratory ducks and birds. There are also two tennis courts and a large heated pool with lounge chairs and a covered gazebo with a gas grill for your use. The grounds have recently been upgraded with beautiful palms, sea grass, abundant flowers and mature plants. It looks like Paradise.

The master bedroom has a sunny southern exposure that faces the lake. The brand new, soundproof and weather proof sliding glass doors (throughout the entire unit) open to a welcoming balcony. The bedroom has a king sized bed with rattan styled furniture. The newly renovated master bathroom and dressing room is spacious with beautiful tiles, vanity desk and glass enclosed shower that is so inviting after a day at the beach. There are ample closets and shelves for all your resort wear and a new flat screen TV, one of 3 new TV's in the unit.

The Living Room has a casual yet elegant feel of a Key West resort because of the couch and love seat of honey amber chenille with wooden accents. There are lovely glass tables with matching lamps. Enjoy the large hi def flat screen TV. Enjoy watching your favorite shows whenever you like because of the DVR feature. The straw baskets and flowers add to the flavor. The Living Room also faces the lake and the balcony has two tables and six chairs for your enjoyment.

When you are ready to eat enjoy the rectangular glass topped dining room table and six chairs, contemporary with cherry wood and leather seats. Or dine more casually in the eat in kitchen with its rattan styled table with glass top and seats covered with French Provence covered seats.

The kitchen has any appliance that you would need since it our home also. There is beautiful crown molding on the ceiling that has been recently raised. There is a desk that’s perfect for your laptop especially since we have wireless Verizon Fios Internet. There is an aqua colored fiesta ware set to make you feel as if you were in the tropics. There are sliding doors that face mature trees and palms and it is a beautiful way to start or end your day.

The guest bedroom has seashell comforters, a large closet, a flat screen TV and rattan furniture. A beautiful newly renovated guest bathroom has a tub with glass doors so you can bathe or shower.

We have a spacious garage full of anything that you would need to enjoy the beach- chairs, bogey boards, floats etc. It is a good way to keep your car clean and cool. You can safely keep bikes there.

Siesta Key village is a scenic one mile walk away, and it reminds us of an uncommercial Margaritaville, very casual and full of stores and restaurants and bars. Downtown Sarasota is a short drive and there are so many things to do. It is full of culture with museums, theaters, dance performances, craft shows, libraries, botanical gardens and opera, and ample parking is available. If golf is your passion there are over 40 courses available. There are all kinds of quality cuisines available in friendly restaurants. The stores are unique and offer a variety of shopping opportunities.

About Matti Santagata

We're lifelong Brooklyn residents, married for 45 years, and we spent many summers exploring Florida's two coasts for our dream retirement home. We searched for the perfect beach with a delightfully casual community. When we first arrived on Siesta Key, and especially when we first rented at Our House at the Beach, we knew it was what we were searching for!

Matti Santagata purchased this condo in 2011

Why Matti Santagata chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

We spent five winters renting at Our House at the Beach and finally decided we had to own a condo here. We now spend time here during each Fall and Winter, enjoying the fabulous beach, the other community residents, the great Siesta Village and the many other Sarasota area attractions.

What makes this condo unique

When we decided to buy, we chose a quiet upstairs unit away from the hustle and bustle of the very lively Beach Road. Our main balcony has a sunny Southern exposure, facing the lake, with our tables and chairs making it perfect for enjoying an afternoon Margarita after a day on the beach! Having our own garage enables us to store all our beach supplies without cluttering our condo. All this is here for you to use and enjoy just as it's here for us to use and enjoy!

Our vacation paradise

  • 5 of 5

We've been here for the third time and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Siesta Key is truly our favourite place and the condo is nothing less than perfect. We feel just like home , everything you could possibly need is there and most important -it's a home, not a hotel. It's a short walk to the beach with lovely , white sand and a short drive to the Village with several good restaurants and small shops. Great Publix stores at both bridges. Lots of things to do and see nearby. We love this place so much and will be back next summer.

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you feel that our home is your home. We have tried to make it a "Home". We, too, enjoy staying there when we can. Yes the beach is the best and it is our favorite place. It is beautiful, relaxing and so convenient. The village is a relaxing place to walk for a drink, food or to buy a souvenir. There are so many wonderful first rate restaurants to eat at a short drive away, and there are great museums, dance performances, plays, fairs and the opera to enjoy. It really is Paradise.

Great condo, great location, great chill out.

  • 5 of 5

After a week of the Orlando theme parks we wanted somewhere to really relax and unwind. Your condo and Siesta Key was a perfect match. Spacious, comfortable, air conditioned, well equipped, WiFi and a good base to explore a bit further afield if you wanted to. What’s not to like? The pool onsite was a bonus too. We loved saying hello to the lake turtles each morning. Grab some beach chairs from the garage then a few minutes stroll to the beach to enjoy the finest, whitest sand I think I've ever seen. Our daughter (aged 8) insisted on bringing a few scoops of the beach back home to England, as a setting for the variety of shells she collected.

Siesta Key village is around a 30 minute walk I would guess. We preferred the local bus service though. Routes 10 & 11 stop right outside the complex entrance and takes just a few minutes and $1.25. It couldn’t be easier. There’s a good variety of restaurants, bars (if you don’t have young kids) and market stalls. A quick stop at Ciao Gelato for dessert was the norm.

Anna Maria Island was a trip out with beautiful scenery, beaches and we took lunch at The Sandbar, located right on the beach. There’s a load of other stuff to do of course but we only had a week…..

No need to research any other accommodation at Siesta Key, we've found ours! We had a great time and would definitely return. Recommended.

Owner's Response: Kathryn thank you for the lovely review. It is our home away from home so we try to make it as comfortable as possible. There is a lot to see outside of Siesta Key but I know that the beach is really great and very hard to leave. The sites, culture and restaurants are fabulous., and make this a great vacation for a week and even longer. We hope that we will see you again at Our House at the Beach. Matti and Jim Santagata

Paradise on earth !

  • 5 of 5

Once again we stayed at your wonderful condo in Siesta Key. We cannot imagine finding anything better than this anywhere, it is truly paradise on earth. There are a few things we would point out, though : The pictures on your webpage does not give full credit to your condo and the surroundings - it is way better in real life than what you see on the pictures. You haven't mentioned "the local wildlife" either : The turtles in the lake come to greet you when you go outside, and the birds sing beautifully in the trees outside the kitchen window. This is indeed very nice when you have your breakfast in the morning. You have also not mentioned the very effective air conditioning system in the condo. When we were there it was very hot outside, but inside the condo the temperature was nice and cool. We can recommend your guests to go down to the beach early in the morning to see all the different birds down there - and the sunrise is truly beautiful. We have even seen dolphins swimming close to the beach several times. We will definitely be back another time - maybe not next year, but we will be back !

Owner's Response: WOW! Thanks for the great review! We plan to update some of the exterior area photos when we return in October, since there will be some great new facilities just across the street at the beach. The suggestion of having breakfast out on the patio overlooking the lake sounds great... a chance to enjoy the exotic tropical birds and the large resident family of turtles, the largest of which has a shell almost two feet long! And yes, the beach is a real treat from sunrise to sunset... no-one should miss it at these very special times of the day! The beach and adjacent park and picnic areas are all being upgraded this summer, and the plans really have us excited. To all our guests, your comments about the things that gave you unexpected enjoyment will add to the enjoyment of the guests that follow you, and they may then do the same for you when you return.

Superb Value for our family.

This is the best condo we stayed at on Siesta Key. The unit was within 300 meters of the beach and within a mile of Siesta Village for shopping and dining. There is a garage at this unit which made it easier for our family and made parking a breeze. Furnishing and decor was great plus the layout of the condo was spacious. Wonderful stay all in all.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind words. We try to keep the condo at the same level and ease of enjoyment as the great beach. We greatly appreciate having visitors who enjoy the condo as much as we do, and who take the same care of it that we do, since it is our home for four months each year. We wish we could meet and greet each of you personally!

Wonderful Vacation for this Happy IL Family!

  • 5 of 5

Wow, Siesta Key is such a beautiful place! We had a hard time leaving this area and have ranked it in our top two Florida destinations. We spent one week in July in this condo and greatly enjoyed the location. It is a comfortable walk to the beach across the street. If you are looking for a nicely furnished, clean condo with everything that you could possibly need, this is it! The description on VRBO is accurate, and the pictures do a nice job of showing the condo. With a family of four (two teenage boys included), I especially appreciated the large size of the condo and having a washer/dryer in the unit. My sons enjoyed having multiple TV's and wifi. The pool was smaller than we had thought, yet it was always clean and kept at a nice temperature. With the beach so close, we didn't use it that much anyway. A special word of thanks goes out to the owner, Jim, who personally called on our first night there to answer a wifi question that I had. I enjoyed our conversation and appreciated the time that he took to ensure our wonderful vacation. Some things that we especially enjoyed on this trip were the drum circle on Sunday evening, the open air cars, seafood meals, St. Armands Circle, golfing, fishing charter, renting jet skis, and of course, the BEACH! Thanks so much for opening your condo to us. We truly had a wonderful time and would love to visit again!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the wonderful review! Lending a hand to any renter, whether it's with assistance or information, is part of what we try to offer. But the condo, and the beach, and Siesta Key in general, are really the very special things on offer! We like it so much we're increasing our time there this year by an additional month!
