Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

2BR, 1BA (sleeps 3)

If you enjoy art, music and literature you will appreciate our 65 sq meter (700 sq feet) apartment that’s been designed by a talented French architect. Full of books, CD's and DVD's, it’s a home away from home. On the fourth floor with elevator, it has an independent entrance in our duplex, providing complete privacy along with the advantage of having us near for any information you might need.

Marvelously situated between the Bastille and the Place de la République and just around the corner from the historical Cirque d’Hiver, the apartment is on the edge of the fashionable Haut Marais area which is full of art galleries, exclusive clothing stores and specialty food shops as well as a colorful covered market. You can walk to the Pompidou Center and the Place de Vosges within fifteen minutes, and many of Paris’s famous attractions such as the Louvre or Notre Dame are at a convenient distance whether on foot or by using public transportation. Three metro and 3 bus lines are near the apartment, making it incredibly convenient for visiting Paris. As well, the major train stations are easily reached from here.

The apartment consists of an open kitchen/living area, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a library-study in which a sofa can open to a very comfortable full bed, and a bathroom with a shower. There’s everything necessary for a perfect stay in Paris: a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, induction cook-top, microwave, oven, and refrigerator; large flat-screen television and DVD player; radio-CD player with an excellent sound system; telephone; wireless internet; washer-dryer). Detergent, paper products and staples such as tea and coffee, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, and sugar are provided so you aren’t obliged to do a major shopping just to settle in.

Rental fee includes linens and towels, and cleaning at the end of your stay.

For 3 persons, the price is 210€ a night.

About Marsha Emanuel

We are a French-American couple. Pierre is a pure Parisien; Marsha grew up in Maine, and lived in New York before deciding to move to Paris. We've lived in the area for many years and really love it. The idea of transforming our duplex into an independent apartment offers us the pleasure of using our space wisely as well as giving visitors to Paris a very comfortable and welcoming environment in which to stay.

Excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this beautiful apartment, which is well equipped, comfortable and carefully maintained. The location in the Marais district is excellent! A Metro stop is close by and there is easy access to many fine restaurants, galleries and shops. Our host was very gracious and helpful. Thank you Marsha.

Comfortable and convenient

  • 5 of 5

Marsha was very helpful -- we arrived on an early flight and were able to get into the apartment immediately. We left late in the day and she was happy to have us leave our luggage at the apartment until we left.

The apartment is close to two metro stations and easy to get anywhere in the city while not being in the middle of a tourist area. It's very comfortable, with great beds, a good shower, washer-dryer and brand new well equipped kitchen. While we were mostly out and about, it was a great place to return to and relax.

Like all Paris apartments it does not have AC, but the fans Marsha provided and the cross ventilation made even the hottest nights tolerable (something which friends in another apartment complained about bitterly). It also has the smallest elevator I've ever seen -- but it works!

We had a great stay and the next time we return to Paris we'll try to stay here.

Alittle disappointed

  • 3 of 5

Apartment is fully equipped with anything you could possibly need. very comfortable and clean. however apartment is on 4th floor. Very difficult to get to. There is a lift but it's so small it's frightening. Apartment has no smoke detectors and stairs going downstairs is hazardous and tge steps are all uneven. The woman who lives there was not friendly and took offense when i asked bout security. She didn't know much about the area or restaurants although she did have numerous reading material. Personally I will not return.

Owner's Response: Yes, the elevator is small and the stairs are uneven - this building was constructed around the time of the French Revolution - but everyone who lives here uses them both without any problem. Security for guests is the same as that which I respect for myself; as for a smoke detector it can easily be installed and I will do so. I must note that you never asked for any information about the neighborhood which I would have most gladly provided. I am sorry that you were not happy here.

A two-week stay, and the apartment was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We (my wife and I and my adult daughter) stayed here for two weeks, and the apartment was just what we needed. It was clean, well furnished and well equipped. We cooked "at home" a lot, and groceries are very nearby. There are also 3 metro stops very near, and lots of restaurants. Just 2 blocks from Place de la République. Marsha made us most welcome and was a great resource when we had questions. Thank you! We strongly recommend.

Lovely place in the North Marais

  • 5 of 5

We loved our 8 night stay at Marsha's lovely apartment. It was very convenient to many different Metros and a lovely walk into the heart of the Marais, which was full of restaurants, cafes, museums, shops, boulangeries and food shops.

Marsha made our stay very comfortable, providing all the basics and also some fruit and lovely chouquettes on our arrival. And fresh flowers. Lots of amenities in coffee maker, washer/dryer, a full size ref. and plenty of sheets and towels, comforters and blankets. She even provided soap and toilet paper so we didn't have to rush out to get anything.

Just a note that the toilet is separate from the shower/sink and is at the front of the apartment. It's also a step or two above the rest of the floor and while it didn't bother us, it's best to know about it.

Although the bedroom faced the Boulevard du Temple, a large road. But the double windows subdued most of the noise and it was quiet at night.

We would definitely rent this again.
