  • 4 of 5

Had a wonderful time exploring the mountains and the lake. It was very nice to return to a nice spacious house to rest up for the following days explorations.

Comfortable home for large family, wonderful lake

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our Labor Day stay. We were two families with young children, and the house was large and well set up for family dinners and play. Just up the road from a cove, we easily headed out on our kayaks whenever we had the chance. The house stocks lots of board games, books, and a television, which made the day of rain we had over that weekend not only bearable but fun! Communication with the hosts was clear and quick. A great experience!

Terrible property. Not waterfront

  • 1 of 5

Problems from day 1 with home and owners rude response. Bug infestation inside home, no screens, old windows that don't stay open, no working AC,rusty shower water. No working smoke or carbon detectors, dog got sick because of carbon monoxide. Had to flag car down to find out where vet was.Fire Lt Ken(who owner called pain in the ass) stopped by 3 times for unsafe house propane tank in yard too close to parked cars house and fire pit. When we contacted Lynne again for all problems she replied, stop bothering me and enjoy family time together. Brian. Lynne's husband called me a twit because I complained. We didn't have cell service and wifi barely works. No phone available, owner told me to drive to top of mountains and I might get service but we had to drive to next town. Newbury only has Verizon and USAmerica towers. Bulbs constantly blowing. Power didn't work in half the house. Lynne told me we could leave if didn't like it but NO refund would be given. They sent handyman over on the day we checked out after dealing with problems for 5 weeks of our vacation. House is not ready for renters. Town of Newbury knows of this house and non conforming home owners, I filed a complaint with VRBO, still waiting to hear from them since no service at rental property. I have pictures videos and documented everything. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY. Not fit for humans or animals. If you want to be called names from owners and like to live with bugs and brown recluse spiders, no windows that you can leave open and no ac in the summer then this is the place for you. Worst vacation rental property owners I've ever met in my 20years of being a vacationer. Instead of apologizing for all problems on last day Lynne called me a bitch. Happy to leave the house. Will send pictures if requested

We enjoyed the location near the lake and near new London for shopping and restaurants.

It was fun staying in a historic home with wood beams and stone fireplace. Lynn was a great communicator and hostess.

Owner and location were great!

  • 4 of 5

The owner was very responsive and available when needed! Great location! The home has a rustic camp like feel that we weren't expecting but the space satisfied our annual family NYE weekend getaway. Linens and towels were provided which was nice not to have to pack those bulky items. Yard was nice for the kids to play in the snow!
