This charming, beautifully situated stone house with attached gîte is a perfect holiday home for one or two families. Located close to the village of Laurabuc, the main house has 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room. The kitchen/dining area offers wonderful views of the garden, pool (10m x 5m) and surrounding fields. The large and light family sitting room has French doors which lead out to the landscaped garden. The adjoining gîte has two bedrooms, a sitting room and a separate shower room. The rear garden offers glorious views of fields and the foothills of the Pyrenees. In the grounds of the property are two impressive ruins; one of a wind mill and the other a watermill.
The Moulin is an ideal holiday property situated in 4 acres of land. In addition to the swimming pool and trampoline there is a covered dell full of soft fruit trees, a free flowing stream and the ruins of a disused watermill and windmill. The nearby fields are full of sunflowers and other crops. There is a beautiful walk through pine trees to a small chapel at the top of a hill which provides breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Around Laurabuc : A short car-drive will take you to the lovely banks of the Canal du Midi, or the markets of Castelnaudary and Mirepoix (the latter in a perfect medieval arcaded town-square), or just a little further to the battlements of Carcassonne. Situated between the mountains of the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean coast, there is much to see -- abbeys, old churches, castles, pretty villages and fortified towns – or imposing cities like Toulouse, Perpignan, Narbonne -- museums like those of Toulouse-Lautrec in Albi.
