Casa Soñadora's location is also the best in Sayulita. It is located in the exclusive south-central area, directly above Sayulita’s premier surfing and swimming beach on a little hill and 1 block to town. This area was the first developed by ex-pats who came to Sayulita over 40 years ago. It was chosen above all other areas in Sayulita because of its unsurpassed views of the surf break and the Nayarit coastline and its close proximity to the center of town and main swimming and surfing beach just 1 ½ blocks away. No car is needed when staying at Casa Sonadora, because everything in Sayulita is within a 5 minute stroll. (Another nice feature is the delightful 2 minute walk to town and beach via the beautifully flowering garden and meandering pathway, lovingly called “Lombard Street”, referencing San Francisco’s famous twisty road.)
Casa Soñadora is one large house that has 3 bedrooms, a convertible TV room/bedroom with a custom queen couch bed plus a couple of child single foldout beds stored in the closet, and a bunk room with 2 single mattresses that adjoins the lower king room so children can stay near their parents. It has 3-1/2 bathrooms, 2 outdoor showers, 2 Roman bathtubs and even a treehouse!
The upper floor has a master suite with king bed, private veranda sitting area and gorgeous ocean views. It has an indoor and an outdoor shower and a large Roman bathtub. The second bedroom also has a private veranda with amazing ocean views. It has two queen beds and a bathroom that can be shared with convertible TV/Bedroom. The TV/Bedroom room sits between these bedrooms and has a large LCD TV for use with DVDs with surround sound system and a terrace with the same exceptional ocean views and a custom luxury queen couch bed, plus 2 single rollaways if necessary.
There is a very large garden rooftop terrace with unbelievable 360 degree views of Sayulita Bay, the town and the jungle and mountains surrounding it. Under a massive palapa roof you have your own outdoor living room.
The first floor of Casa Soñadora also has wonderful ocean views which can be enjoyed from the kitchen, dining room, living room and additional master suite. Off the dining room, there is an outdoor palapa sitting area with pool, garden and ocean view. The living room enjoys the same view with the pool just outside the sliding glass doors. The master suite downstairs is similar to the upstairs one, but bigger and without the outdoor shower, but with the addition of a large LCD TV (for use with DVDs) and sound system. It also has the small adjacent room with 2 bunks for children.
The entire house is beautifully designed and artistically appointed with antique Mexican art and traditional Mexican artifacts. Every bedroom has its own unique charm. They all are air-conditioned, have pillow top mattresses and luxury linens. The whole house has filtered drinking water and there is a pressurized water system too. The swimming pool is heated (great between December and April) and no chlorine or chemicals are used – it is ozone-treated with a touch of salt. There are lawns and beautifully landscaped private tropical gardens. There are DVD players, stereo systems (Ipod compatible) and satellite flat screen TVs. WiFi has also been installed. There is an outdoor shower by the pool and a treehouse with hammock where you can luxuriate in style with exceptional ocean views. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to add to the comfort, beauty and serenity of your stay. Regular maid, gardening and pool service is provided and our property manager, can make arrangements for a cook if desired. If you book Casa Soñadora, you will be contacted with information (from airport travel from Puerto Vallarta to Casa Soñadora, to the best places to change your money, eat, etc.) Once you arrive Eric can recommend the best restaurants, masseuses and activities in the area.
The peacefulness and beauty of this property cannot be conveyed in words or pictures. You are away from the town’s bustle and directly above the surf break. You can listen to and watch the surf, the surfers, migrating whales and swooping birds while enjoying a cooling breeze. Just a short 2 minute walk down the meandering garden pathway and you are on the beach or a block from the town square. Casa Soñadora is literally your tropical dream come true.
My wife, Joan, and I, Dennis, live most of the time in an area frequently referred to as the northern tip of the wine country in California, just above Napa Valley. I recently sold my Internet Marketing Company and my wife is starting to wind down her successful art business. We are semi-retired now, but I still manage to keep busy with all my real estate projects, investments and family. We travel quite a bit together and with our two married daughters and their husbands and their growing families. One of our daughters is a successful Interior Architect in Los Angles who is married to an entrepreneur who is the majority owner and CEO of a major software company. The other daughter is an occupational therapist, whose husband is the cameraman for many of the Home and Garden TV Network shows that we all love. We are an active group. We all love to ski, hike, scuba dive, surf, bike, boat, ride motorcycles, and hang out together in beautiful environments.
We are recent grandparents with both daughters and are thoroughly enjoying this delightful new addition to our lives.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 2013
We already own the two incredible houses right next door here in Sayulita, but we wanted to fully design and build from the ground up our Sayulita dream home. Before buying this last piece of vacant land in our neighborhood we again looked at everything available in Sayulita for months and then came back to the best neighborhood in Sayulita with its phenomenal surf views and close proximity to everything in Sayulita. Now we own three fabulous luxury properties right across from each other and directly above the beach and town which are just a block away!
We really love this incredible location with unsurpassed panoramic views, the jungle garden surrounding our house, the heated swimming pool, the large collection of unique Mexican art thoughout the house, the cooling breeze, and watching the surfers below the house. We also love spending time on the roof garden palapa terrace. Here we have 360 degree views of the ocean, mountains, jungle and village below. We watch the surfers, migrating whales and swooping birds, and drink in the huge expanse of the Nayarit coastline. This is where we really kick back and relax and drink in all the beauty that is Sayulita.
The location is perfect....just a couple blocks from town and a short walk to the quieter swimming beach at Playa de los muertos (yes, you walk though a very pleasant cemetery to get there). The food is great in Sayulia...check out the margaritas at Alas Blancas on the beach at sunset or the tacos at El itacate. The staff was helpful and responsive, the house is very well-equipped.
We have just returned from our 7 nite stay and loved it! House was perfect. 6 adults lived comfortably together. Large bedrooms and bathrooms and common rooms to all get together or stay away quite comfortably. :) From the pool to the deck upstairs we had everything we needed. Very close 5 min walk to town and to the beach. No car needed. Restaurants galore and shopping and drinking and peoples watching everywhere. Very quaint and safe. If you are going for big city and hot nite life then no But if u r going for easy laid back casual vacation then yes. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and kind. Of course we went during hot hot season but we r all from South Georgia sooooo hot and humid was nothing new to us. Ladies, no makeup or hair dryers required. Just throw on some shorts and flips , pull your hair back and go. Leave your high heels at home too. :)
Car service to and from airport very nice. Housekeeper pool people and grounds security man all kind and easy going. French bakery Boulangeier wonderful. Natys chicken tacos great. Carmelita's great guys and great food. Rubens for best fries and turkey club ever. Great atmosphere at Ledas. And let's not forget the ever persistent and attentive street dogs and street vendors. Always there but always nice. ;) great place all around to relax. Would definitely come again.
This property is located above the south end of town and is exactly as advertised. Great lay out, beautifully decorated and maintained. There is a footpath 20 feet from the front gate that drops you into the center of town or onto the main beaches in 5 minutes tops. Very convenient! The top floor is an open air area that is perfect for morning coffee, evening cocktails or a quiet escape to read and relax while taking in a spectacular ocean/coastline view. The bedrooms were spacious, with comfortable beds and nice showers. Ernesto (property manager) was available to answer questions and assist with golf cart rental & transportation to/from airport. We had a problem with the water supply to the house one morning left a message for Ernesto & he had a repair team there as promised and the problem was resolved quickly with minimal interruption to our day. We had the chance to visit several other beautiful properties in Sayulita as we were in town for a wedding. While the northern beaches are a little more secluded and the area maybe a bit quieter, we loved our proximity to town & the fact that the entire house has A/C (several of the others we visited only offered A/C in the bedrooms). Definitely recommend Calypso restaurant (center of town) & Revolution Tacos. Casa Sonadora is set up to accommodate couples, families or multi-family groups with a nice floor plan that provided both larger gathering areas and smaller places to enjoy some privacy. If your a light sleeper the only knock on the place might be the Rooster's that live down the hill somewhere; to us it just added to the charm & authenticity of the area! Would highly recommend Casa Sonadora!!
We stayed at Casa Sonadora April 23rd through April 30th, 2016 for a birthday party of 10 women for a week. We could not have been happier with the location to the beach and the town. The pool and yard were a wonderful bonus and the roof top deck in the morning with our coffee was spectacular! Ernesto was spot on meeting us when we arrived and easily available if we needed anything. Wendy, the housekeeper was great too.
The only minor thing I would mention is the small bunk room attached to the downstairs master bedroom is really not a room. Very small - I'm sure children would think it's fun but not really for an adult. We were definitely warned about the size when we booked so no surprise.
Beautiful, just as described in the photos! We want to go back to Sayulita and Casa Sonadora and her sister residences would be first on the list!
This was our 4th time to Sayulita, and it was out best visit yet! We are grandparents who visit Sayulita with our son and his family (ages 10, 7, & 1). The exquisitely decorated house is well designed to provide good privacy and separation for two families. It is well built, equipped, and maintained. We especially appreciated the filtered water, the daily cleaning service, and the full set of stainless steel heavy duty cookware. The property sits at the top of a small hill (yes, one must walk up a fairly steep but short hill), and it is only a couple of blocks from the beach, main square, and grocery shops. You do not need to rent a car! Jose Ramos Transportation is reliable and dependable! The best places to be in Sayulita are located at the south end of the town where Casa Sonadora is located. Our 10 year old grandson took a 2-hour surfing lesson, and that's all that he needed to become a 'surfer dude.' Eric was terrific! He met us when we arrived and was there when we departed and was readily available during the week if we needed him. Couple of tips: Bring pesos or a debit card to access ATM machines (Eric says use only the ones at either of the Oxxo stores or at Don Pedros), as few places take credit cards, and those that do usually impose a surcharge. The wood fired pizza place in the center of town on the main drag is very good, and there are many small family run lunch places for tacos and burritos. ChocBanana is a great place for breakfast. And don't miss the authentic French bakery operated by a guy who says he came over from France 25 years ago. Fresh croissants and baguettes every morning! Its located on the street that runs along the north side of the town square a block down from and across from the well-known fish taco place. On your way from the airport, ask your driver to take you to the new Mega store on the north side of Puerto Vallarta, not the old one near the airport, although they are both good. Sayulita is a really neat 'happening' little Mexican village, not a flashy resort spot. It is safe, and the local residents are friendly.
It is even better in person than the photos. Everyone was friendly and helpful getting there and set up. You couldn't want anything more from a house! We will be back!
The surf break directly below Casa Sonadora has the best and most consistent waves for surfing, swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking along Mexico's Pacific Gold Coast. There are jungle walks & horseback riding and other favorite pastimes. The village has terrific restaurants, great shops and a wonderful little night life.
This is the friendliest town in Mexico.
