Lovely garden aspect - light and bright - quiet with large living/dining

Available to rent as pied a terre/bolt hole or on a short term or other flexible basis, this brand new ground floor double bedroom with private entrance has a fully furnished 30 m² kitchen/living room and modern bathroom/shower. Located opposite the famous playing fields of St Paul's School in a quiet but pretty central but predominantly residential, area of South-West London, you will have easy access to the centre if that is your goall, but be able to escape. Inside is comfortable roomy and light with WiFi, a Panasonic wall mounted 36' TV, a superking size bed, one sofa bed (standard double) if required, fully equipped kitchen, under floor heating, street parking. Barnes village is a relative haven of civilization on the River, with lovely pubs and restaurants and a duck pond.

About Robin

We live on site in the main house. The Coach House is at the foot of our garden sectioned off by a gated fence. We built it in 2009/2010. I work from home as a lawyer.

Everyone loves it ; spacious living dining kitchen, nice aspect looking out of huge ground floor west facing windows onto a bay tree in a stoned private patio, well equipped, modern underfloor heating, completely private despite huge windows, light; cosy in winter.

We are in Barnes, an upmarket little community within 200 metres of the river Thames & 1.6 kms from Hammersmith which is a major urban transport hub. We are separated from Hammersmith by the river and by historic & beautiful Hammersmith Bridge.

Hammersmith has all tube lines, so getting to the centre is not a problem and doesn't take much time.

Barnes is peaceful and quiet with shops, cafes, pubs and a pond.

There is a bus outside the door of the flat to and from Hammersmith every 15 mins. Alternatively you can walk 6 minutes (500 meters) up the road to Hammersmith Bridge where there are buses every minute of the day.

We live on site - the flat is at the bottom of our garden beyond a pergola and trellising in a detached building with its own entrance to the street.

There is car parked outside that you can hire by signing up to https://carclub.easycar.com/ It's a 1.4 litre Vauxhall/Opel Corsa 4 door; can take 2 people plus loads of luggage, or 3 people with reasonable luggage or 4 with no serious luggage. Its a great little car I shared with my son until he went to Australia. Just sign up online and search SW13 9JR for the rental location. Sutable for 2 adults + or - 2 children or maybe 3 if there's a really small one. No smoking in the bedroom.

Lovely, Cosy Abode in Pretty Barnes

What a lovely find! The little lodge is located to the rear of the owner's property, but one has the feeling of being in a very private space, with a gated courtyard garden, totally separate to the owner's home and space. The owner, Robin, and his assistant, Brita, are very approachable, and thoughtful but greatly respectful of your privacy. We have had such a restful stay. The children have loved sitting and playing outside, and the lodge has been perfect for our needs. If you're looking for a restful, cosy place to stay, in the heart of London, but away from the hustle and bustle of city life, then the pretty, genteel, English village of Barnes and this lovely lodge are most definitely your place!

Excellent stay in Barnes.

The Coach House was very clean and fresh and had everything we needed. We were in close proximity to shops and transport with a bus stopping outside the door. Great, happy stay with any questions answered promptly and helpfully by owner. Wonderful!

Perfect New Year celebration

This is a lovely cottage, thoughtfully designed from an old coach house. It is located in Barnes. Silence at night is amazing. We had no problem going to the central London and we have found many local attractions. For example, I enjoyed Thames Path walks to the Putney Bridge from where Oxford-Cambridge boat rate begins. Apartment is almost perfect. It is modern, clean, has a large kitchen, nice bathroom, good furniture, even the garden and bbq (which we did not use). Robin provides professional and friendly service as well as attention to the details. Highly recommend. GregB

Perfect location, modern accommodation

Convenient location for West End, Kings Cross Station and Barnes.Excellent local bus service outside the front door. Handy for exploring Barnes, with many areas of interest. Fantastic bed! We slept like the proverbial log. Very comfortable accommodation, where we were able to relax and chill out, after busy days out.

This holiday property is accurately represented by its Web site: It was clean, warm, well appointed, surprisingly spacious. The owner was personable and very helpful. Convenient central London location close to amenities and transport. All in all, we recommend it highly and would return.

Almost perfect

After a long search for an appartment or hotel near Hammersmith I stumbled upon this offer - and it was the best possible choice to make. The apparment is in great shape with new and modern kitchen equipment (even an oven, which is not overall common), a spacious living room, a small, but absolutely sufficient bedroom and a nice bathroom. The appartment itself was very tidy and clean; everything in it worked to 100%.

As others have written before, it is not in the center of Hammersmith, but the bus only needs five Minutes to the tube station Hammersmith. From there you can explore most of the tourist sites in London within 30 Minutes. The part of London where the appartment lies, Barnes, also offers some restaurants, nice pubs and with the London Wetland Centre a real hotspot for friends of nature and birds.

The contact with the owner was very nice and he proved to be really helpful while we stayed there. Questions I had in advance were answered very quick and friendly.

In total, I wouldn't know how it could have been any better - I would definitely recomend this appartment to almost anyone, with this slight limitation: It is listed as suitable for the elder and infirm, And although it is completely on the ground level I would have slight doubts wether the bathroom is really suitable for people who have difficulties lifting their legs. But that really remains the only limitation I would make.
