This home is a totally-renovated 1910's Florida cottage, located on desirable Bay Street within the historic area of Ozona. The charm of the original architecture remains with all new infrastructure, systems and an open, contemporary interior. There are hardwood floors throughout, a new kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, a large master bedroom with attached laundry room and an amazing new bathroom. The bathroom offers double sinks, granite, oversized glass-enclosed shower and attached walk-in cedar closet. This cottage lives large and very comfortably. The large wrap-around front porch invites you to sit and relax...with a morning cup of coffee, breakfast, lunch or maybe an evening beverage. There are comfortable Adirondack chairs as well as a table with wicker chairs, with multiple ceiling fans to help keep you cool. The property is fenced in and lovingly landscaped, with a private back yard.
Standing in front of the cottage, look down the block to the end of Bay Street and see the Gulf. Take an evening stroll down to see the sunset or area marinas. Walk in the other direction, on to Orange Street and you'll find some of the most popular (and fun) restaurants in the county, with indoor and outdoor seating. If it's exercise you're after, the Ozona neighborhood is perfect for walking, running or biking. You'll see lots of other folks out there too! Or you can hop on to the Pinellas Trail, just a short walk away.
Ozona is ideally located to allow for a wide variety of interests and activities...many within just a few miles. If it's beach and water sports you want, the Dunedin Causeway and Honeymoon Island State Park are just down the road. The town of Dunedin offers many interesting shops and an amazing array of restaurants as well as a diverse, cultural environment. Tarpon Springs, a Greek fishing port just 5 miles north on Alt 19, is best known for its sponge docks but also has wonderful Greek restaurants and many shops. If you decide to venture just a bit further, you can reach St. Petersbury, Clearwater and Tampa all within 30-45 minutes. Orlando and DisneyWorld just 90 minutes away!
Our family has lived in Ozona since 1995 - we built our home here. We love this community - the beautiful sunsets, great places to eat and drink, unique shops and so very close to the beach! There is nothing like watching the sunset at the end of Bay Street with neighbors and friends (and a glass of wine)!
David Ennis purchased this cottage in 2009
Our family purchased this property in 2009, although we had been admiring it for many years before that. We fell in love the with this 'old Florida' cottage - the wrap around front porch with ceiling fans, the palm trees, the hardwood floors, and the metal roof. We are thrilled to be able to share this property with friends and give them a chance to experience the unique lifestyle that is Ozona.
This cottage is ideally located within a very short walking distance from both the Gulf of Mexico and nearby restaurants and activities including the Pinellas trail - 'his and her' bicycles are provided for use getting around town or riding on the trail. Ozona is located between Clearwater and Tarpon Springs, with only a 4 mile drive to the beautiful beaches of Honeymoon and Caledesi Islands State Parks. Nearby Dunedin (3 miles away) offers wonderful shops, restaurants, art and festivals. Only 20 minutes to Clearwater Beach, 30 minutes to St. Petersburg.
We stayed here for two weeks in the winter and had a marvelous time. The house is very cozy and we had everything we needed. Ozona is a great location - isolated yet close to anything you'll need. Would highly recommend this property.
My husband and I just spent two months in this delightful Florida cottage. Everything is there, two bicycles, beach chairs/towel, ice chests, etc. Dave and Barb have done an outstanding job. The pictures don't do it justice, larger than it looks. The decor and art are perfect. A previous owner took an old Florida cottage and carefuly and tastefully put on major modern additions while keeping the Florida charm. My husband and I would buy it from Dave in a minute. It's just a short walk to the end of the road with the gorgeous sunsets, and in the other direction are 3 or 4 good restaurants. So close to the Pinellas bikeway my husband road all the way to Trinity in the north and Seminole to the south. He loved it. And it's close to the Dunedin Causeway so our friend's marina was handy and it's lovely to visit the Osprey nests at Honeymoon Island. Dave keeps the outside looking perfect with weekly attention to the fallen palm fronds & leaves. When we had a sister come to visit for the weekend, the tiny bedroom in the back worked out fine. The next time we plan to stay in Florida for awhile, it'll again be at this cottage!
We could not have been happier with our stay at this wonderful cottage. Ozona was the most wonderful place to call home. The restaurants and shops couldn't have been better. The Cottage has everything you need and more in a gorgeously decorated space. Dave, the owner is so nice to deal with and went out of his way to help us arrange a fishing trip. We really enjoyed our time here and would love to come back. Thanks so much.
The cottage is beautifully renovated with all the modern conveniences you could ever want. We stayed for over two weeks and did not want to leave. Located within a few minutes walking to great local restaurants and quaint shops, easy 5 minute walk to the bay, where sunsets are unbelievable. The ozona community is friendly and very accommodating, a true get away!
Working with the owners has been delightful, and we hope to be back to the cottage soon.
This is THE place to stay I the Tampa, Palm Harbor, Tarpon springs area
We had such a comfortable stay. David and Barbara were so gracious with their hospitality. We fell in love with the cottage. This property is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood with good food just steps away. We will definitely be back if we are in Ozona in the future.
Thank you for such a lovely experience.
My wife and I planned to vacation in Florida this year. Because my sister used to live in Palm Harbor, we were aware of this lovely area and also of three awesome places to eat - Molly Goodheads, the Ozona Pig, and Ozona Blue. So we found this cottage in Ozona and booked it unseen. AMAZING! The MOST quaint, quiet, non-touristy getaway we could ever have imagined. And the owners are great to work with! Perfect for an individtual, a couple, and even a couple with one small child. At most one small child and an infant. Not on the beach, but so close to 3 beaches that you get the best of being away from knuckleheads but near the water.
This totally renovated Florida cottage is located in historic Ozona, FL, one block from the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy beautiful sunsets, great restaurants, and the laid-back atmosphere that makes Ozona so unique.
