{Kitchen & Dining}

Here at the burrows, we know that kitchens are for more than preparing food! It truly is the heart of the home, and our beautiful kitchen is designed for just that: to be enjoyed by all. It boasts a center island with stools for gathering, and a stunning viking 36” stainless steel, 6 burner gas range for professional chefs and professional eaters alike! Paired with it are the other stainless appliances - full fridge with freezer, dishwasher, and a perfectly temperature controlled wine chiller.

Our dining room offers enough seating for eight, there are plenty of dishes, cutlery, glasses, mugs, serving plates and bowls - plus all the amenities of home: can opener, salad spinner, coffee maker, toaster, baking pans and more!

If you would like your favorite beverages chilled and waiting for you, or if the last thing you want to do when you arrive is go grocery shopping, let us do it for you!

Ask us about our shopping service - you give us a list of your favorites and we'll try our very best to get you what you need! We'll give you the original receipt, so you only cover the cost of what you order and have an opportunity to make a donation to the awesome team at North Shore Rescue.

{The Great Room}

In true west coast style, our great room is fully furnished and features a grand 16 foot barrel ceiling, exposed wood beams and floor to ceiling windows to maximize the view!

For those who enjoy a good book with a great view, our library area is complete with a beautiful fireplace, shelves filled with books, magazines, and board games for everyone to enjoy during your stay.

Slide open the patio doors in the great room to take advantage of the ocean breeze, or step onto our patio! The opening from the great room to the patio creates an amazing indoor/outdoor feel. Lounge on the deck year round for optimal ocean living! For the self-appointed grill master, we have the perfect partner for you: a stainless steel natural gas barbeque!

{The Bedrooms}

Our master suite features a king sized bed equipped for royalty - complete with luxurious sheets and duvet. Not just for sleeping, the room offers a tv with and cable. The spacious master ensuite comes fully equipped with a large soaker tub, shower option, and all the amenities of home!

Our second and third bedrooms feature oversized windows that frame a beautiful view of the boats in the marina and the skyline beyond it. Not to worry though, our drapes ensure complete privacy so you can have the best of both worlds. Both rooms hold queen sized beds with luxurious sheets and duvets that will ensure peaceful rest. Each of the bedrooms have their own tvs equipped with cable, standard closets and private ensuites; room two features a bath tub with shower fixtures, and room three has an easily accessible walk in shower. We also have two convertible BoConcept ottomans in the living room that fold out into single beds, and a Barcelona daybed on the main floor - this home can sleep up to 8 guests!

About Peggy Lim

We are Peggy and Jeffrey Lim. Together with our adult children, we've built our dream vacation home. A waterfront property is something that we've worked our entire lives for and are proud and happy to have fulfilled this dream. We own a cafe up the hill in Lonsdale, North Vancouver, and after years of serving the community and residents, we realized just how much we love to meet new people and are more than happy to open up our home to you. We can't wait to provide you with a comfortable and memorable stay.

Peggy Lim purchased this house boat in 2012

Why Peggy Lim chose North Vancouver

We are always asked about the name 'The Burrows' - here's a little background information that will help make sense of the name:

Being Vancouverites, our family are die hard fans of our beloved hockey team, The Vancouver Canucks! (Go Nucks!) The matriarch of our family, Peggy, has a special place in her heart dedicated to a certain Canucks forward --- jersey #14, Alex Burrows.

When we discovered that our address would be #14, Peggy immediately started jokingly referring to the house as 'The Burrows'. As we seriously started brainstorming names, we couldn't find anything we liked better, and figured that the name reflected our family, love for our city, and our excitement to share it!

What makes this house boat unique

Welcome to The Burrows Vancouver!

The Burrows is part of a special community of ocean homes located at Mosquito Creek Marina in North Vancouver, BC. It’s location boasts unparalleled views of the downtown Vancouver skyline to the South, the legendary “Lions” mountains to the North, at high-tide enjoy a view of the breathtaking Stanley Park and the beautiful lights of the Lions Gate Bridge to the west!

The Burrows

I would completely concur with the review by Thomas C. We were 5 60+ boys visiting Vancouver. The house was well equipped allowing for great gourmet dinners utilizing the high end kitchen appliances. Views from the upstairs living and dining rooms are spectacular. I was hesitant about the shower and bathroom facilities on a boat, but was pleasantly surprised they were equal to a nice hotel. The short walk to the Seabus Terminal allowed us easy access to downtown wining and dining without any worries about needing taxis or a designated driver. All said, great place to stay.

A perfect place to get away

  • 5 of 5

Traveling as three couples, we totally enjoyed our stay at The Burrows. The listing description was accurate and the property was very well maintained. Among the things attractive to us: each of the three bedrooms had its own bathroom en suite; the kitchen facility is top grade; the living area is spacious and wide open; the deck and view from it are spectacular.

Owner, Peggy, was very responsive all the way from the initial booking online through the entirety of our stay. She met us at the float home and gave us the tour and orientation. She then remained accessible if we needed her throughout.

She provided parking passes and access keys. Note: make sure you immediately place the parking pass in your vehicle on the rearview mirror. We got a ticket (not cheap) while we were meeting with Peggy and getting our orientation. She offered to get it resolved. So, this was kind above and beyond the call of duty. Of note also is that grocery and other shopping are easily within walking distance. Also, the sea bus over to Vancouver is nearby.

Definitely suggest that for touring Vancouver, you not use a car but obtain a pass that will give you access to sea bus, city buses and sky train. We did travel by rented auto to places where it was more convenient, such as Capilano suspension bridge and the Archeological museum. However, Vancouver itself is very walkable.

All six of us enjoyed the stay. We all thought this float home was ideal. We highly recommend a stay there.

Unique and perfect

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with our two sons in their 20's, stayed at this beautiful float home in July. When we were searching for accommodations for our trip to Vancouver, we wanted something other than a hotel or high-rise condo. When we found The Burrows, our search was over! Not only is it modern, spacious, clean and comfortable, but it is truly unique. How many people get to experience a float home?! We loved the location - a peaceful marina, with all the sights and sounds that went with that. It was so relaxing to enjoy coffee on the deck every morning and then to return there in the evenings too, to take in the awesome view of Vancouver's skyline. Everything we required was easily accessible, including transportation to downtown Vancouver by seabus. The owner, Peggy, is reliable, honest, kind and helpful - simply a good person. Looking through the guest book, we realized how many wonderful stories and experiences happened during time spent there. We truly felt the love. We can't recommend this highly enough ... we promise you won't be disappointed!

Heavenly accommodation and great location

  • 5 of 5

This accommodation was such a pleasure for us, the second half of a fantastic holiday in British Columbia. The Burrows has everything you need, but so much more, evenings on the deck were quite something. We really got in the groove of marina life and everything that North Van has to offer. Beyond this, Downtown, Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain, Squamish, Deep Cove, West Van, and even Whistler, are within reach and have so much to offer. Peggy and Jeff were so helpful and provided lots of advice. So looking forward to coming back.

Superb location easy access to everything

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 nights in this amazing venue prior to our cruise. The seabus from the nearby Lonsdale Quay every 15 minutes to Vancouver. This was a lovely place to stay for 3 couples each with their own facilities. Peggy and jeff were fantastic in facilitating everything. I was surprised how quickly we could get to downtown without being part of the hectic whirlyburly. It was just magic with everything you could possibly need supplied. Could not recommend this highly enough.

Spectacular!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed in The Burrows for 3 nights prior to an Alaskan cruise which was departing from Vancouver. We were thrilled to find this home on VRBO and it exceeded our expectations! My husband and I were traveling with our adult children (son, daughter, and son-in-law). The view was spectacular -- the marina and Vancouver across the bay and the mountains behind us. The float home was very comfortable, fabulously furnished, and immaculately clean. We had plenty of room with the open den and kitchen which were on the second level along with the deck (where we spent most of our time when not out site-seeing. . The 3 bedrooms are on the first level, each with a private bath, as well as the laundry room. Having the washer and dryer available to wash clothes before getting on the cruise ship was very convenient. The Marina is a short easy walk away from Lonsdale Quay Market with many dining options, produce, gelato, and a convenience store. The bus and seabus terminals are also located there, which made Grouse Mountain, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, and Vancouver all easily accessible. While we were excited for the upcoming cruise, all of us wanted more time in The Burrows. Peggy was wonderful --easily accessible with timely email response when making reservations and also in answering our questions about transportation. We enjoyed meeting her in person -- she met us at the house on arrival. Thank you, Peggy and family, for sharing your wonderful home with us. This was our favorite vacation rental ever and we hope to be back in the future for a full week stay!
