About Jennifer

I was born in Auckland New Zealand, educated at Auckland University. married a Londoner, settled for 30 years in the Manning Valley NSW Australia, taught senior English at Taree College of TAFE. Came to London 2004, currently living in and enjoying London, worked past 4 years in the House of Lords Westminster.

Jennifer purchased this apartment in 2004

Why Jennifer chose London

I inherited the property from my mother, bless her....and I love it because she lived here 28 years...it is south facing and sunny...you can lie in bed and not see a building when you look out the window

What makes this apartment unique

good bus services to major attractions nearby, walking distance to Houses of Parliament, London Eye and Tate Britain.

this apartment is overlooks a park, it is quiet and well located for Westminster and West End theatres and galleries

Great location. Had a lovely family break with 2 young children.

  • 4 of 5

The flat is easy to find and very close to great bus routes. Also an easy walk to many attractions including London Eye and Houses of Parliament. The flat is very comfy and is just as the photos show (apart from a different sofa which is a bit uncomfortable). We were there with 2 young children and it suited us really well.

Great location & buses. Tired furnishing, smaller than it looks, noisy ceiling. Appropriate price.

  • 4 of 5

We spent 2 1/2 weeks in this flat in July 2016, and enjoyed our time. The location is great...a short-ish walk from Houses of Parliament, Imperial War Museum, Westminster Abbey and London Eye. Within 30 minutes' walk is much more, including Leicester Square. There are four key bus routes that come within 3 blocks of the flat that take you many key places. With a 15 minute walk, you can get to a couple tube stops and at least one train station.

The flat itself is smaller than the pictures make it look; the furnishings are a bit "tired" and the area rugs could use a cleaning. The kitchen is quite functional, but small (one cook at a time, please!). The washing machine works great, but is small enough that you'll be doing a load of clothes every 2-3 days. Clothes hang dry. The bigger bed is only the size of a "double" (as we would call it in the USA). It is not a queen or king. As we had only one kid with us, we gave her the double bed and we pushed the two single beds together for ourselves - this gave us more room to sleep than the "double" and in a bigger room. While those beds are comfortable, their frames move and creak a fair amount.

We also heard a lot of sounds from the flat upstairs - shuffling along the floor, doors opening, marbles being dropped, etc.

There is one bathroom, but it is helpfully split into two pieces - Toilet vs. Shower/Sink. This allowed one person to shower while another used the toilet (and washed up in the kitchen sink).

The one key piece of advice I'd provide the Jennifer (owner): Install a "grab bar" in the tub, as it can be quite perilous to step in and out of the tub when taking a shower (the tub is narrow and, like many in Europe, raised up above the floor). I nearly slipped and fell several times. That said, once in the shower, it was nice pressure and nice temperature.

Jennifer was quite helpful before our arrival, with good information on the neighborhood, buses, grocery stores, etc. The one time we had a question for her during the visit, she was quite responsive.

Overall, we'd stay here again...knowing that we are paying less than other spots w/in the same general distance to stuff. It is important, though, to moderate your expectations about the size and quality of the unit.

Would recommend to anyone!

  • 5 of 5

Just left London the other day. Our family of four had a great time. The flat is perfectly located and easy to find. Great busing is right outside the door. The flat is well equipped and perfect for a family stay. The place is full of old English charm! When we booked the flat the owner sent us a large email with sights, tips, stores, bus routes, and much more. This is something most vacation rentals don't do so it is fantastic to see someone put the effort in. We would definitely book here again and not even bother pricing out other lodging.

Clean, comfortable, and convenient apartment that worked great for us

  • 4 of 5

We stayed 5 days at the apartment at the end of May / beginning of June. 2 adults, 2 kids. This apartment really worked well for us and Jennifer was a pleasure to work with. We had no troubles with booking the apartment, Jennifer provided a lot of helpful information before our trip including excellent directions, we were able to drop off our luggage before the standard check-in time, and she recommended a really nice place to get out laundry done just a few blocks away. The location is just a few blocks off the Thames and was an easy 10 minute walk to either the Westminster or Vauxhall tube stations, bus stop was 2 minutes away, imperial war museum not too far away - just a short walk. Beds were really comfortable, WiFi worked well, and overall it served us well as our home base for our stay. Description is accurate and we would have no problem staying here again.

Great Apartment

  • 5 of 5

This was a great apartment for my family. It was well equipped, quiet and in the best location. Transport is good but we found that so many things were easy to walk to, to get the full London experience. The house keeper and neighbours were also great to deal with. We would not hesitate to book again.

Almost forgot Jennifer was also a delight to deal with!

Lovely staying in London

  • 5 of 5

This is the right place - great accommodation, very clean, quiet and cosy. The beds were good, the bathroom and toilette was clean and enough with space and hot water 24h . The kitchen is full of equipment .

The location is MORE than perfect - 5-10min walk from London eye. On the corner is a bus stop (507) right to Victoria station - for changing other metro lines. There are 2 stops of 2 different metro lines near the apartment - 5/10min walk away .

The place was very clean, quiet and comfortable. We really appreciated the new, larger, refrigerator (twice the size of the one in the profile pictures) as it allowed us to have more meals at home thus saving us money. There are 2 Tesco near the apartment and 2 more little shops. You can also walk to Westminster abbey.

We would definitely book this location again next time we come to London!

It's possible to book shorter stays if there is a vacant period that suits you, between other bookings. The apartment is close to the tourist centre of London. A 10 min. walk to Tate Britain. The # 3 bus from the corner is 5 minutes to the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and White Hall, (stroll from here through St James' Park to Buckingham Palace); 5 -10 minutes on to Trafalgar Square, the Strand, China town, Covent Garden Market, the West End, and the Haymarket; Shaftesbury Avenue's theatres, the cinemas of Leicester Square, Soho's night life, Picadilly, Regent St, and the miles of Oxford St shops.

In another direction take the 360 bus to the King's Road Chelsea, Sloane Square and the High Fashion of Sloane St; the Victoria and Albert Museum, the British Museum, Harrods, Royal Albert Hall, Lady Diana's Kensington Palace and within walking distance to South Kensington High St and Notting Hill, where Charity shops are a treasure trove of designer labels.

Bus 507 + C10 on the embankment take 10 minutes to Victoria Station, (the Gatwick Express) more theatres + shops.

If the cancellation of part of the booking occurs within 3 months of arrival date which creates a vacancy of less than 5 days, the caneclled dates are non-refundable, because most bookings are made 6 months in advance
