The Madeira Region: Here in the Atlantic Ocean, not too far from the centre of Europe, we find the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo.
The archipelago is famous for its friendly people, exceptional natural beauty and mild climate.
Madeira Islands are just a short trip from Europe, to a destination where you can combine holidays on the beach, in the mountains or in the city.
Madeira and Porto Santo are the ideal places to relax and restore the balance of mind and body that you need to face the stress of daily life.
Madeira (Wood) is a beautiful verdant island. It is Portugal's 'Jewel in the Atlantic'. The island is a haven for anyone who enjoys walking, whether your taste runs to gentle strolls or hard core hiking. Madeira’s system of irrigation channels, known as levadas, carry water down from the mountains on gentle gradients. These levadas provide a ready-made system of trails. There are 1300 miles of them, criss crossing the island, and they have level footpaths running along their entire length.
Garajau Area: Garajau is on the coast between Funchal and Caniço. Its name comes from the huge numbers of garajaus (sandwich terns) that nest here.
There is a promontory here, Ponta do Garajau, where you will find a large statue of Christ the King. The Garajau Partial Nature Reserve was set up in 1986.
Thanks to its biological treasures and the extraordinary transparency of the water, the reserve, which has unique conditions for diving, has gained international fame and divers come here from all over the world.
How to get there: Transfer to and from the airport can be arranged by us. Once you have cleared customs & collected your luggage, you will be met by your driver in the arrivals hall. Payment can be made direct to the driver. The charge is €20.00 each way.
