About the property

3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6)

The Bluff House is the perfect vacation home. The home has a huge gourmet kitchen and three comfortable bedrooms each with its own private, full bathroom, ideal for three couples or a small family wanting to explore Port Angeles and the Olympic National Park. The panoramic salt water view is incredible and visible from almost every room in the house; both sunrises and sunsets are visible over the water. The house is located on a 100ft high bluff, set 40ft back from the water, so there is no better view available anywhere in Port Angeles, period. Turn around and there is a view of the Olympic Mountains looming above Port Angeles.

The location of the house is perfect for visitors. It is close to the Olympic National Park, the Discovery Trail and the downtown area of Port Angeles. It is just 4 blocks from the Victoria Ferry, 2 blocks from the Discovery Trail, 1 mile from the entrance to the national park and 5 blocks from shopping and restaurants. Your hosts can help with trail and sightseeing information, and any concerns or questions that may arise when planning your adventures on the Olympic Peninsula. Look at the photos and read the reviews. The photos are all taken by us from the house itself and the reviews are all written by guests that stayed at the house (i.e. none were written by friends or family at our request). The Bluff House is the nicest vacation home in Port Angeles, perfect for a small group of up to 6 people. You will love it and want to return.

About Cindy Clark

An avid hiker and enjoyer of the outdoors, I love this area, it's people and all it has to offer. I am so happy to share our corner of the country with travelers, and the Bluff House is the perfect venue for that.

Cindy Clark purchased this house in 1990

Why Cindy Clark chose Port Angeles

We bought this property because of the amazing view but it was too small at the time for our family. Now that our kids are gone we have doubled the size of the house and made it cozy for when they return with their families.

What makes this house unique

The mountain view to the south and the water views to the north, west and east make this a unique piece of property. Eagles perch in the tree out front and the water is full of activity all the time, both natural and man-made. The kitchen has a separate wet bar, everything you need for the discerning chef and beautiful serving pieces to make you feel at home. The lights of the harbor are an enchanting sight at night and in the winter months, nothing is cozier than sitting in the warm front room watching the weather unfold in front of your eyes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The Bluff House is the most amazing place we’ve ever stayed on vacation! Views of Puget Sound kept us lingering at the house longer than we intended as we used the provided binoculars to identify the ships coming and going and watched their activities – fascinating! Every afternoon about 5:00 a bald eagle flew past our windows at eye level – wow! We walked on the trail below the bluff and saw seals frolicking in the water just offshore. Inside, the house is as close to perfect as it could be. The kitchen is huge and well-stocked with everything we could have needed. Barbeque equipment led us outdoors when we wanted to eat “at home.” The open living room/dining room area is all windows so the views can be enjoyed no matter the weather. The bedrooms and bathrooms are super comfortable and private. It is clean and beautifully furnished in every space. As for sight-seeing, Port Angeles is the perfect base for exploring Olympic National Park, Hurricane Ridge, and the north coast as far as Cape Flattery, which is as far as the continental US goes. This is the second time we have stayed in the Bluff House, and I would rearrange my vacation before staying anywhere else in that area. I give it both thumbs up!

Every aspect of this vacation house merits 5 stars!

  • 5 of 5

My family gathered in Port Angeles for 5 days of socializing, hiking and relaxing. This house was perfect for 3 couples. The views from the living room/dining room, from the deck and from 2 of the bedrooms were idyllic. We enjoyed watching the water, the Coast Guard exercises, ferry, eagles, seagulls and seals. We had mostly clear weather and had beautiful views of Vancouver Island, the San Juan Islands and Mt. Baker. Cindy helped us by telling us of her favorite hikes. We took her advice and had spectacular hikes in forests, by the bay, rivers and on mountaintops. The house is conveniently located in town, close to restaurants and coffee shops. We prepared most of our meals at the house in the well-outfitted kitchen. I recommend taking your next vacation in Port Angeles, WA to stay at this 5-star house.

Simply woderful

  • 5 of 5

You couldn't ask for a better location and wonderful owner! The house sits on a bluff overlooking Port Angeles with beautiful views of the water. The house location is quiet and private yet close to town and Olympic national park. The owner provided us with a lot of information about dining, hiking, things to see etc. before our arrival and some of the places she recommended we never heard of in the guide books and were great. The owner was always available to answer questions about the area, or make suggestions about shopping, beaches, hikes, etc. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to cook any meal. So relaxing to come back from hiking and sit on the patio and watch the cruise ships go by.

I highly recommend the house and would certainly rent it again.

Great Views In Port Angeles, Beautiful and Spacious Home that offers everything

  • 5 of 5

The location of this house is perfect. It is only a few minutes away from downtown Port Angeles where you can eat and shop, or just walk around and take everything in. Close to the road leading to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. My family loves to hike and explore. We enjoyed sitting on the deck or in the living room (large picture windows) and enjoyed the water and all of the activities (large container/tanker ships going by, cruise ships, the ferry coming to and from Victoria, Canada), and wildlife (eagles). We spent a day with the Island Adventure Whale Watching Tour. We could have spent the whole day on the water looking at whales (and the beautiful scenery). We are a family of 4 adults and 2 children. This home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Huge kitchen with everything that you would need. We cooked breakfast every morning before going out for the day, and enjoyed using the grill to make dinner. When we did go out to eat, it was at Down Riggers down at the dock. Family restaurant with great food.

We stayed at the Bluff House for 4 days. All of us wished we could have stayed longer.

Very comfortable, Cindy (the owner and host) has provided everything you need and more. Plenty of books to read, games to play, puzzles to put together. After a long day of hiking, it was nice to come back and watch a movie to unwind, PLUS, looking at the stars.

Cindy is very accommodating, met us as we arrived at the house. Explained everything (she also has maps, explanation of the surrounding areas, great internet). And to make everyone even more comfortable, large TV in the living room for family gatherings and TV's in the bedroom. Cindy has thought of everything that you could need or want to make your stay comfortable. The house is beautifully decorated, gave me a few ideas for our home. Cindy - thank you!!! We plan on coming back to the Bluff House to enjoy Olympic National Park.

Property was great with fantastic views of the bay and ships coming and going. Cindy was very cordial and kind enough to drop off a loaf of homemade bread. House exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area. Hated to leave and hope to return when we visit the area again. Thanks Cindy for the use of your wonderful home.

There are wonderful restaurants and unique shops just blocks away in downtown PA. The Olympic National Park has limitless opportunities for adventures in nature. It has lakes, ocean beaches, tide pools, mountains, trails and some of the most incredible forests in the world. The 100+ mile Olympic Discovery Trail is 2 blocks away, offering endless distance for biking or running. (We have an official marathon every June). There are several marine sanctuaries in the area where sea life is on full view.

There are alpine wildflowers to rival anything in the Alps. Lakes and rivers that are clear and cold highlight many hikes and the Hoh Rainforest is a world treasure with its Hall of Mosses and some of the biggest trees in the world. Rainfall varies throughout the different environments from 15 inches a year to over 180, so you can imagine the variety of plants and microclimes.

There are wild ocean beaches that inspire awe and quiet forest glens that make you sigh. One of the quietest places on earth is within Olympic National Park.

Recently, 2 dams have been removed from the Elwah River which will be a grand experiment to try and revitalize one of the country's largest salmon runs. Vestiges of the now-gone lakes are open for exploring as well as the area where the river meets the salt water. On a recent day, there were upwards of 40 bald eagles at the mouth of the river, plus 30 to 40 seals, all checking out the menu of seabirds and fish.
