About the property

Superbly appointed house in one of the most beautiful Cotswold villages

Top Cottage dates from around 1800. It was originally four houses that have been converted into a single dwelling in recent years. It retains a wealth of period features including inglenook fireplaces, a bread oven and exposed beams. The house has been refurbished to a very high standard and is equipped with antique furniture and tasteful period art. There are extensive landscaped gardens and a gravel drive along with a separate annex. The main house contains a large living area, a spacious entrance hall/study and a recently restored kitchen dining room with flagstone floors, an Aga and seating for six. On the first floor there are two main bedrooms each with high quality bathrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite dressing room and a further flight of stairs from this leads to a third bedroom. The separate annex is also well equipped and is furnished and decorated to the same high standard. The annex has a living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The main house has wifi. There are modern HD televisions and blu-ray players.

Beautiful house in the heart of Cotswolds

  • 5 of 5

Location was ideal for us—we were close to most of major attractions of the region. The house and garden are beautiful and well maintained. The house is very old, which adds to its charm, but it was clean and well equipped. It had a bit of a smell when we arrived, like it wasn’t used for a while, and one bedroom had a slightly musty smell. We aired the house and that helped. The beds had fresh sheets, fresh towels were provided, and the kitchen had some basic spices and condiments.

There is a separate annex building with an extra bed for two, a living/dining space, kitchen and bathroom although we didn’t use it much. There is parking space within gates enough for two cars. We were traveling with a toddler so having the garden fenced was a plus.

All together we loved our stay and would come back again in the future. Iain was very easy to communicate via VRBO messaging and always helpful.

A cottage of great character and charm, steeped in cotswold tradition and very central to many visitor attractions for the whole family. Many modern amenities within and a superbly equipped annexe in the garden, set in a quiet and very pretty village.
