We loved the expansive view of the mountains and the glacier right from the living room and dining room! The kitchen was large and provided everything we needed to prepare several meals. We also enjoyed the walking trail down to the river, and we saw two moose on that trail.
WOW - the VIEW!! Don't Pass this Cabin Up if You're in the Area!!
The photos hooked us in advance, and in person we were MESMERIZED. Clean, comfortable, well-stocked cabin with tons of room for our family of 5 on our Alaskan vacation! Waking up every morning to THAT VIEW ALL ACROSS the HORIZON - WOW, WOW, WOW. If you're staying in this area, I strongly consider staying here. Kacie was an excellent host as well. We loved all of Alaska, but this cabin holds a special place in our hearts for this vacation!!!
Absolutely once in a life time views!
Incredible views! Mananuska Glacier and surrounding Mountain Ranges and River. The home is mostly glass and affords full view of Alaskan beauty. Stayed two days and did local tourism. Owner and Agent we're wonderful and very accommodating. Very secluded. Moose in the back yard eating. Pictures, pictures, pictures
Online Photos Accurate. Fab Place With Fab View
We are 3 adult couples travelling together and this place was perfect for our 2 nights (wished we'd had 3 nights as that would be about perfect length for here). Place is walking distance to MICA Guides. It directly overlooks the glacier - in fact the view from the lounge windows could not possibly be improved. We liked the huge set in ground binoculars on the porch as we could see people on the glacier. If staying a week or more with 6 or so the one bathroom may be an issue, bit not for a few nights. Breakfast supplies for first morning were great and plentiful. Heating worked well. 1 double bedroom upstairs. The bathroom is upstairs with kitchen, living and dining etc . Other living area and 2 bedrooms (1 x twin bunks and 1 x double bed) ate downstairs). Only comment would be the water pump is a little noisy in the dead of night if taps or toilet used. Need to bring your own food (is a restaurant at Sheep Mountain less than 15 mins up the road). We had a van so easy to get around. Unsure what you would do without a vehicle of some kind though. We all LOVED this place.
The Glacier House and Wonderful Alaska
My wife and I stayed for a week at the Glacier House. The stay was nothing less than fantastic. The cabin is spacious and well equipped. The views from both inside and outside are breathtaking. We lost ourselves watching the mountains change throughout the day. The week was both relaxing and exciting. A favorite was seeing the morning sun on the snow-capped peaks across the valley. We took day trips up and down the Glenn Highway and were amazed at every turn. I fished in many nearby lakes every morning and always caught beautiful trout we had for breakfast or dinner. We saw so much wildlife, the best was a moose and her calf right on the cabin property. We will cherish the memory of this week for the rest of our lives, we would definitely stay at this cabin again. Kacie, the property manager was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great stay.
we loved our stay, and enjoyed the amazing view. It was nice being so close to the glacier. We took a tour on it, and would recommended that to anyone. Well worth the money.
I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for a couple things. I could have been cleaned better. We found trash under both of the beds we were using. And other places could have been cleaner as well. Over all the cleanliness wasn't that bad though.
I was very surprised that we only had less than one roll of toilet paper for 4 people for a two nights stay (I assume it was an oversight). I sent a message about it and received no response, and no toilet paper. good thing there were some Kleenex. A response of any kind would have been appreciated.
