Stunning view with the sounds of nature all around you in a well stocked and beautiful cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family trip to Alaska was highlighted by the stay at Glacier House cabin. This cabin is fully stocked and easily sleeps 6 adults. To try and describe the view is impossible! As I sit here on the deck, it’s a nippy 52 degrees F. Crystal clear, sounds of birds chirping and the river below. My only disappointment is we didn’t book more days to stay, unplug and relax. Our kids had an epic experience of a life time. Short drive to the Matanuska Glacier that I’m staring at now is well worth the journey! It’s easy too. In summary, Wow! What a house and view! We will be back! Mahalo!

Gorgeous Home - Heartfelt Welcome - Glacier View

  • 5 of 5

We cannot express enough what a wonderful experience this was as we started our two weeks in Alaska. The communication prior to the trip was great. Walking in to an amazing view and to have land to walk on and even a moose in the yard - amazing! We felt so welcomed with a beautiful clean home, breakfast fixings, and even fresh fruit. There were notes and tips about the area and beautiful books to look through in the evening. We will definitely try to book here on future trips!

Truly extraordinary house that is a spectacular place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Views are exceptional, furnishings are modern and tasteful, kitchen is well-equipped, beds are comfortable, and interior space is bright and airy. There is also a great library. Host is friendly and helpful. The property is lovely and pleasant to explore. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

Beautiful remote cabin with spectacular views of the Matanuska Glacier

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful views! Very remote and with that came some awesome nature. We saw so many bunnies, a black bear (that scattered right back into the woods when we drove up) and a mama moose and her calf! They were right off the back porch and let us click away taking pictures while she gave her baby a 'moose bath'. It was precious. Kacie was very accommodating, even making sure we had milk, bread, blueberries, eggs and orange juice for the morning in case we didn't get a chance to stop on the way in. It was a very clean place and we had everything you would need to cook with. We went down to the Matanuska glacier and were able to take a 2 hour guided hike, which is something we will never forget. Dinner at the Sheep Mountain Lodge (about 15 miles up the road) was delicious. We always had our cameras on hand, as no matter where you go around the cabin the views are absolutely breathtaking.

Amazing location, well-equipped home!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five did not want to leave this home. The views of the mountains and the Matanuska Glacier were magnificent. The pictures do not do it justice. We were able to notice subtle changes in the mountains daily. The house is well-equipped as we cooked all of our meals. The nearest "big" city is an hour away, but there are a few local restaurants. We hiked local mountains as well as the glacier and were able to whitewater raft on the river that ran in front of the house. We also visited Hatchers Pass which was an amazing place to explore. Deb, the homeowner, provides you with everything that you could ever need and Kacie, the property manager, is available throughout your stay. She also included staples in the refrigerator for our first night. It is a great place for family time or just time away for yourself. Sleeps 6 very comfortably and the deck is an amazing place to watch the night sky! It is truly a hidden gem!
