Described as a cottage this modern property attends to all the needs that a family would expect from their own home. Nestled on the shore of a blue/green bay this house provides everything that the holiday maker needs. With every sunrise the beach beckoned us as a blank canvas does a Master. We fell in love with this place the moment we arrived.
This house is a perfect base to explore Kerry, Clare, Cork and Limerick. However one week will not suffice. We visited many towns, villages and townlands in North Kerry during our stay of seven days.
There are many Castles, Forts, Graveyards and Monuments to visit in Kerry. These record the centuries of struggle to survive by a small nation. With restaurants, hotels, venues and historical sites, Kerry offers everything to the visitor.
We are Irish and we are accustomed to the beautiful scenery and warm welcome for visitors. We expect good food, drink and entertainment. Kerry has all this to offer and more. Kerry has a special place in our hearts, it has a hold upon us.
Finally a word about our host. Dermot has a light touch approach to life and this is much appreciated. It made our stay all the more enjoyable. Will we be back? Certainly, we can't wait! In the meantime, thank you Dermot for allowing us the pleasure of staying at Littor.
And as for all you intrepid explorers, come, enjoy and soak up an Irish welcome.
We were a party of 4 generations and everyone fell in love with the house and it's location. We felt very welcomed by Dermot . Everything we needed for a relaxing holiday was available such as body boards and barbecue. We also had the privilege of seeing a royal tern a bird only ever seen in Ireland 3 times ever! We were therefore joined on the beach by 20 or so bird watchers from Dub!in, Holland and Belgium!!!! It flew away after 3 days. Really recommend this house to anyone. We surfed at Ballybunnion at the surface school and ate at an amazing if slightly expensive restraint there called Daroka (Cliff road). It's in a Sunday Times top 100 list and was great food for all. Great fish and steak dishes.
We had an incredible summer week here. My family of four plus my father spent our first week in Ireland here on the beach and we were extremely happy with the house. It is very large, clean, comfortable and well-lit and the best feature is the view of the field, sand and water. We were torn between going out and seeing the Irish sites or staying in and enjoying the gorgeous yard and beach, and we did a lot of both! The solitude and privacy are well worth the travel to a rural spot. It was sunny and warm for several days and our kids couldn't get enough of all that perfect sand for castle-building, kite-flying and just general running around looking at shells and jellyfish. The house had more than enough room for all of us and the grounds are very well-maintained and so pretty. The only suggestion we would have is that if there were a few more supplies like laundry soap, dish soap and spare toilet paper and paper towels that would have helped us a lot, since we are international and had to buy these detergents but then waste most of them at the end of our trip. We just loved it here and hated to leave and certainly recommend this home for peace and enjoyment of the surrounding nature, towns and historic sites. Thank you for your hospitality, Dermot!
Just spent a week at the cottage with our extended family (6 adults and 1 child). The house is perfectly set up and has all the amenities needed. The beach is so close and you could just sit and watch the tide all day. Our 1 year old loved the perfect sand beach.
The house has amazing views of the water from every room.
Only a 10 minute drive from Ballybunion to get food, drink, etc.
Can't say enough about the assistance of Dermot, thank you!
This is my new "home away from home" while I'm in Ireland. The location is ideal for day trips throughout counties Kerry and Limerick, and once you get the lay of the land, the roads and cuts to the towns are easy to navigate.
Dermot a great host. In addition to meeting me just outside of Ballybunion so that I could follow him to the house, he also took the time to give me a thorough tour and explain the amenities of the home and how to get to the local grocery.
The house was spotless, bright and felt very homely. Dermot welcomes you with homey touches including a homemade rhubarb tart and the makings for tea. The kitchen is perfect for those who love to cook, and is fully stocked with high-quality dishes, flatware and pots and pans - a rarity in the rental market!
The fresh flowers were a lovely touch. The view of the beach really does take your breath away and there is no substitute for the peace and quiet of this rural home.
I will definitely return and hope to be back soon.
The house very comfortable and well equipped, nice garden and direct at the sandy beach of shannon rive, just few miles from the atlantic river.
Beautiful landscape around, qiet and private.
Would thoroughly recommend. We will be back at some point. Thanks Dermot
