About Patricia Davis
I am an accountant and live in Colorado. My favorite places to travel are Costa Rica - beautifully country and love the people, and Italy. I love being active and love to travel. I fell in love with Costa Rica - Specifically the Arenal Area as El Castillo is approximately 2000 feet above sea level in the rain forest where the temperature is moderate 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit with cooling breezes and beautiful countryside. I cannot live without bicycling, skiing, my friends, my husband, books and Television - Almost but not necessarily in that order. The most unforgettable book that I have ever read is The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I love the Ender series by Orson Scott Card. My favorite adventure and espionage writer is Nelson Demille because he interjects humer into his main characters. I loved the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon about life in Scotland during its revolt with England and the early days of the settlement of America all combined with time travel. Two of my most favorite travel destinations are Italy and Costa Rica and when I go I like to join bicycling tours and see the country by bike. One of my favorite book series and movies was the Hunger Games. I loved the movies Top Gun and also Knights Tale and I mustn't forget The Princess Bride. I am still a rock music enthusiast as it is very good listening for Biking, skiing and rollerblading. I also like Pucini Operas. I have to confess that I am a gluttin for carbs which I must reduce at my age and have gotten into juicing. My favorite juice is Banana, green grapes, Orange, pineapple, spinach, slice of lime and crushed ice. I supplied and decorated the house in a style and comfort pleasing to me as if I were to live there. The renting of my vacation home is a work in progress, and I am open to any and all suggestions because my aim is to ensure my guest's comfort and enjoym
Patricia Davis purchased this House in 2012
Why Patricia Davis chose La Fortuna
I came to CR with a friend in January of 2012. I had been to Costa Rica before and had to come back. We stayed in El Castillo at another property nearby and looked into purchasing a property. I fell in love with this house the moment I saw it With it's fantastic view of the Volcano Arenal, and rolling hills and pasture land, and it's location in the village - very country and nestled in with the locals. Also there are many, many adventures within 1, 2, 3, and 5 kilometers of the house. The house is spacious and very cozy.
What makes this House unique
This home is a 3 bdrm home located in the village of El Castillo. There are many things to see and do and the views are beautiful. The region of Arenal, Costa Rica centers itself around Lake Arenal and the Arenal Volcano. Located approximately 14 miles outside of La Fortuna, a popular tourist town, the charming Village of El Castillo awaits you with everything you need to enjoy luxury and relaxation and still see the 'real' Costa Rica. Although tucked away and private, Castillo is also home to The Butterfly Conservatory, Snake Zoo, The National Park Arenal 1968, and a diverse selection of restaurants. If action and adventure are what you are looking for, Sky Trek, the largest zip line over the Canopy in Costa Rica as well as hanging bridges and sky tram, are located right in our village! There are horseback tours to scenic waterfalls, or kayaking on the lake. There are also repelling and many organized nature hikes and tours that center around the volcano. If you like to push yourself, there are also off road bicycle tours in the hills around El Castillo. In and on the way to La Fortuna you can find White Water Rafting, a number of hot springs pools facilities, ATV tours, and many other adventures. At Villa Millon, you are on your own so sit back and enjoy your privacy and freedom. Should you need any information or assistance, there is a telephone in the house and numbers provided for you to contact with your questions or concerns. After your exciting days of adventure you can leave the fast pace of tourism and go back to your home in El Castillo, traveling through tunnels of rain forest and the beautiful countryside in and around the beautiful village of El Castillo. There you can relax and listen to the Howler Monkeys and enjoy a leisurely dinner and sit outside (or inside) and enjoy the pleasant breezes all the while relaxing in a tropical forest, enjoying the wonderful view, the wildlife and the quiet country atmosphere.

Great vacation home in Arenal
We are family of 6. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay at this wonderful place in Arenal
Great home in a beautiful location!
Great place to really experience the arenal region. House was very clean, with beautiful views and great caretakers. My family stayed three nights and really enjoyed the local attractions and local people. Take the time to walk around the village and discover some of the local businesses, everything from the butterfly conservatory to the local ice cream shop. Arenal N.P is right down the road- hike to the 400 year old tree is a must. Overall- great place to stay!
Nice get away
Nice neighborhood and town, great views, very comfortable
Nice location and views
Beautiful property. Room layout is a little odd, to get to the living room from the Master bedroom you had to go through the room with two beds. The view of Mt Arenal and Monteverde are great. Restaurants in the area are delicious and friendly.
Wonderful place to relax
The area was beautiful! The house was great although one small bedroom you had to walk through to get to the master bedroom and it didn't have a window in it so got a little warm at night. The property mangers were great as well, highly recommend it.
Great place to stay near the Arenal Volcano
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything about the house was just right. And the view of the Volcano from inside the house was amazing. Lots of light and windows. We also enjoyed the local restaurants. The rental SUV with 4 wheel drive came in handy, but we probably could have done everything without the 4 wheel drive. We would definitely recommend staying here.
2km from Volcano Arenal - Fantastic View
