Petit Bivouac translates as 'little shelter in the mountain', but you can be assured that our flat will be more comfortable than a simple mountain hut!
The flat is one of four flats in a detached building and is located on the first floor. There is ample parking available only to the residents of the building. The flat has two double bedrooms and a third bedroom which can be either a double bed or twin bedroom. There is a comfortable double sofa bed in the living area. Facilities for young children is possible upon request.
With a balcony, an open plan kitchen and living area with a wood burner for those cosy winter evenings, the flat is perfect for families and friends on holiday. In addition there is cable TV and wireless internet access to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.
There are three ski stations in Serre-Chevalier and the flat is located 1km from Chantemerle and less than a 1km from Villeneuve which are the two largest stations in the resort

Merci pour votre mail: le séjour s'est fort bien déroulé et je dois souligner que votre appartement est à la fois très fonctionnel, très agréable et complet. Rares sont les locations où l'on a le sentiment en peu de temps de se sentir chez soi (à titre perso, je ne pouvais qu'apprécier un endroit où le propriétaire a les DVD de "crash" et "las vegas parano"!)
Parmi les (nombreux) points positifs:
- l'équipement très complet de l'appartement.
- le poële à bois (à la fois agréable et très efficace)
Parmi les (rares) points de progrès:
- prévoir peut-être une nappe (ou toile cirée) permettant de protéger la table au moment des repas.
- sur le parking, le stockage de la neige en haut (à côté de l'entrée) créé une couche de verglas sur la pente lorsque la neige commence à s'écouler, rendant difficile l'accès pour sortir du parking ou pour y entrer sans glissade.
Mais honnêtement, ces 2 points de progrès n'étaient pour nous que de simples détails face à tous les avantages proposés.

We booked a mountains holiday so my husband can fulfil his dream of cycling the mountains as well as somewhere that will give our kids (13 & 10) exciting things to do other than iPads by the pool.
We rented this apartment due to its location and the local activities available. Our days were packed full of walking down (not up!) mountains, my husband cycling up the iconic TDF Col's, White Water rafting, walking along and mucking about by the river, visiting the local Spa and eating and eating great food. Was not brave enough to try canyoning, maybe next time!?
The apartment was very comfortable, clean, equipped and big enough that we didn't get in each others way with two showers and loo's which is a must with a teenager, a kitchen that had everything needed to cook (or great Pizza over the road) and washing machine / dishwasher so just like home. The bedrooms were decorated simply and beautiful and we got good nights sleep in the beds too.

The booking was easy and efficient. The owners where constantly available to answer all of our questions. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your Petit Bivouac. The apartment was well equipped...everything you could possibly need was there especially some great toys,books and dvds. The tv was small. There was a coffee maker but an expresso machine would've been even better. The fireplace was wonderful and the bedrooms are very big and comfortable...especially the beds. The apartment was fairly quiet except for when you would step out to get in your car you notice there's a cage full of dogs barking out of control. About the parking lot, it is located on a lower level than the road and you will need special tires or chains in order to get out when it snows.
Again, thank you so much for the hospitality! It was an unforgettable vacation!

Le bilan de la semaine est toujours aussi positif.
L'appartement est grand, chaleureux et très bien équipé. Le service est au top et le confort au Rendez Vous.
A 5, la place ne manque pas du fait des 3 chambres et du grand salon-cuisine.
L'accès au départ des pistes de Villeneuve est très facile malgré le fait qu'il nécessite de prendre la voiture ou la navette.
On se sent bien dans ce cocon et on a déjà prévu de revenir l'année prochaine.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Petit Bivouac. The accommodation is very well fitted out, modern and clean. Nothing like so many ski apartments. It is on the main road running through the valley but there is no real road noise and access to the slopes is quick and easy (parking near the Aravet bubble was never an issue). There is a handy and pizza takeaway van next door so if you can't be bothered to cook or go out then good, cheap and quick food is right there.
Only negative was the noisy neighbours/thin walls upstairs. One morning we thought they must have been in with us but we moved bedrooms and didn't hear them again.
Overall highly recommended for the clean and modern set up that is so lacking in regular apartments. We really felt comfortable and at home straight away.
The flat has been re-done recently and it shows! Super nice and cosy. A tasty blend of modern furniture, well equipped kitchen and good old wood. Nothing better than to start up the fire place after a day's skiing.
The flat was spotless when we arrived, nothing's missing in the kitchen, the bedrooms and bathroom are spacious enough and also very clean. The flat is also easy to clean at the end of the stay due to the tiled floor.
Location is quite central with regards to the skiing area in Serre-Che so ideal to vary it up during a stay. Good restaurants are a 10-15 minutes walk away and (very good) pizzas pretty much at the bottom of the stairs
All in all we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this chalet.
The apartment comfortably accommodated four adults and one baby. It was very clean and well appointed and were impressed with the baby facilities made available (cot, high chair and bath).
The apartment is a short distance from shops, tourist attractions, and spectacular scenery. We had relaxing week long summer vacation in this apartment and would definitely recommend it to others.
We would also like to thank the owners for providing useful information prior to our stay ( which helped greatly when planning our trip) and for making available the selection of tourist brochures in the apartment.
The flat is located at an altitude of 1400m, in the ski resort of Serre-Chevalier, one of the biggest ski resorts in France with over 250km's of slopes to challenge you in the winter.
There are three ski stations in Serre-Chevalier and the flat is located 1km from Chantemerle and less than 1km from Villeneuve which are the two largest stations in the resort.
In the summer there are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from including rock climbing, white-water rafting, paragliding or simply relaxing in the natural hot springs of Monetier-les Bains (open all year long).
Nearby is the historical town of Briancon (9km) which was recently classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Italian town of Turin is 120km away, a drive or train ride away for a day's excursion.
The flat is conveniently located near restaurants and shopping facilities.
