About Peter Koop
We have lived in Niagara-on-the-Lake for nearly 20 years and love the area - especially all the beautiful historic properties. Peter grew up in nearby Jordan Station, Ontario and Darla is a transplanted American, originally from Kansas. ~ A Tribute to Darla ~ It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beautiful wife & soul-mate, and loving mother to our four children, Darla. Her talent & passion for decorating, and her desire to please our guests with her gracious hospitality has elevated our business to the high standards that it holds today. It is our intention to carry on her labour of love, upholding these high standards & warm hospitality…..the way Darla would have wanted us to. We look forward to meeting you at the cottage! Peter & the kids, Sam, Cassie, Emily & Josh

Why Peter Koop chose Niagara-on-the-Lake
We have always wanted to own a property in 'Old Town' Niagara-on-the-Lake because we love the architecture of historic houses and the lovely gardens in town.
What makes this Cottage unique
We fell in love with this property because of the beautiful landscaping already in place and it's location on a quiet street so close to the lake.

As charming at the town
Well kept, beautifully decorated with all the amenities you’ll need. Our time spent was magical.
We were sad when the time came to leave this charming little house in NOTL. We had a fabulous time and the location was perfect for us. The decor and the modern bathroom were very nice. We met the owner (Peter) and he was super friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Definitely a place we would stay again!
Wonderful cottage right beside the Lake
This little cottage is located in a wonderful part of Niagara on the Lake. We visited in early April whilst winter was being very stubborn and the cottage was super cosy. Very good facilities with everything you need for a great vacation. You are able to walk into the town easily and Peter and Darla are a delight to deal with. If we come back to NOTL we will definitely stay here.
Perfect spot for a visit to Niagara on the Lake
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful cottage just a couple of blocks from all the action in Niagara on the Lake. The cottage is very well equipped and tastefully decorated for a comfortable vacation. Our hostess, Diane, was wonderful and even dropped off a map with some great recommendations of wineries. We can’t wait to come back for another visit soon.
YES YES YES
this is the cutest place in the whole world and it’s worth every cent!!! it’s INCHES away from the lake and just a short walk to the town, the place is clean and fully stocked, and THERE IS A FIRE THAT TURNs on AND OFF AUTOMATICALLY.
also, Peter is really nice and accommodating. EVERYONE VISITING NIAGARA ON THE LAKE SHOULD STAY HERE.
Charming cottage in a beautiful area!
We had a wonderful visit to NOTL and the Falls! The cottage was a perfect base for exploring the region. It’s within a short walking distance of Old Town and all of the shopping/restaurants there as well as the waterfront. It’s a scenic 25 min drive to Niagara Falls via the parkway. Peter was very prompt in communicating and easy to work with. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids ages 11 & 8. I would highly recommend Hawsepiper if you will be staying in the area!
Cottage is located within walking distance of the Shaw Festival Theatre and many restaurants and shops in historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. Located one block from Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours and the marina. A short 2 block stroll to Queen's Royal park with a beautiful gazebo and short walking trail along Lake Ontario. Sign up for a guided winery tour or take a drive around the scenic countryside and visit some of the 28 local wineries.
