Modernly furnished fully air conditioned 6th floor apartment in one of the most beautiful parts of Valletta, the capital city of Malta. The apartment forms part of a recently restored building, parts of which date back to the late 1700 and early 1800s. The street in which the apartment is situated and the surrounding area has enormous character and is only 2 minutes away on foot from the main shopping centre, sites and close to various good pubs and restaurants.

The accommodation is in the form of an open plan kitchen/living and dining area, 2 bedrooms (main double bedroom with en suite shower room), bathroom and large (50 sq/m) terrace. The views of the historic Grand Harbour are gorgeous. The large terrace is ideal for entertaining or just lounging while enjoying the view both by day and night.

Facilities include lift, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, LCD TV, cable with over 30 channels, and wireless internet. Additional laundry and cleaning service is also available upon request.

Valletta Apartment

A comfortable apartment, very well situated for exploring Valletta and the rest of the island. The apartment was a clean and well-equipped, and we received very good customer service from the owner. There are wonderful views from the roof terrace

I have already recommended the apartment to several friends.

There are two bathrooms so the it might be suitable for a family with a teenage child, or a party of two or three people. The single bedroom is quite small compared to the large double room. There is a lift, but there is a short flight of stairs up to the apartment after getting out of the lift, so the apartment would not be suitable for someone in a wheelchair.

There is very good public transport in Malta, and so the apartment would suit tourists without a car.

One useful addition to the equipment would be a hairdrier!

Great property - not the best location for a wheelchair

Our main reason for this choice was the location for viewing the fireworks and the Grand Harbour and for that it was perfect, the huge terrace gave us great views . It was well apointed, comfortable and spotless. We were welcomed and helped on our arrival and felt immediately at home. We already knew that the apartment itself was not ideal for a wheelchair user as there were 10 steps to negotiate after the lift. That being said it was manageable with a bit of muscle. The biggest problem with the chair was the location of the apartment block and that is just a characteristic of Valletta itself. The block being at a very low point in the town and there being a long hard push to get up to the centre, We could not reach the Barraka Gardens lift to go up to the town as there were also a lot of steps to get down to it, but we did use it to get up and down to the marina. Obviously this is not a reflection on the apartment and its owners. The beauty of Valletta is largely dependent upon its topography and that for us was more than enough compensation for all the effort. However, other visitors might find that they could not cope. Once up in the town there were plenty of restaurants and bars and we especially enjoyed the French Affaire. Overall it was a great stay in a great apartment and I would recommend it to other people.

Disappointing apartment

The location of the apartment is fantastic central for all sights and restaurants.and it was spotlessly clean

The large terrace would be fantastic in the summer but as we stayed in inclement Febtuary this was not really relevant

However the furnishings are tired and need updating particularly the towels and duvet covers.

The heating was inadequate in the lounge area and we had to bring a side light from the bedroom in order to read.

A floor lamp in the lounge is a necessity

A welcome hamper with some essentials would have been a welcome addition

We would have gladly tried to emend the problems you mention immediately had these been pointed out during your stay. We do take pride in ensuring that linen and towels are always tops for our guests and that the apartment may be enjoyed to the full. Unfortunately the weather is beyond us and the full use of the terrace obviously depends on this, but by opening up the shutters the living/dining area does become an extension of the terrace with views still possible to enjoy. With regards to heating, central heating is not available for houses in Malta and thus we have airconditioners which may be also used for heating, besides providing a small fan heater which may be moved around the apartment as necessary. Guests have always been happy with the efficiency of this and we're sorry that you found it inadequate. Our apartment is self-catering, but we always leave some basics like water, tea and coffee, toilet paper, hand soap, dish washing liquid, etc. to start off with for our guests. We then point out where they may find restaurants, cafeterias and grocery shops for their daily needs. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hosting you in the future.

Great location - but better local information is needed

We enjoyed staying in the apartment, and had specifically chosen it for its location and views over the harbour and 3 Cities. However, the views were considerably marred by scaffolding on the roof of the building in front of us.

We would have appreciated better information about the location of supermarkets and convenience shops. The only supermarket described in the information pack was not open on the 3 occasions that we went there and the additional supermarket recommended by the agent was absolutely appalling - dirty and poor produce (and located a considerable distance from where she had indicated on a map). This is a self-catering apartment and we visited during a heat wave and had no choice but to buy bottled water from restaurants and bars until we finally discovered a convenience store just one street away. Prior knowledge of its location would have been extremely helpful. Valletta's fresh fruit and vegetable market is undergoing reconstruction and information about where it has relocated might have been useful.

We were a bit surprised that the agent requested 60 Euros local tourism tax - the correct amount (6 Euros) had already been paid. I'm sure this was a genuine mistake - but coupled with her complaints about us arriving 10 minutes early, it did not make for the best welcome.

Overall, we found the apartment very comfortable; and we particularly appreciated the quietness of its location.

We apologise for any misunderstanding in relation to the environmental contribution throughout the check-in, which was promptly rectified. With respect to Valletta grocery outlets, the majority are small family run establishments, and thus are not subject to specific opening and closing times. Unfortunately the Valletta fresh fruit and vegetable market has not been relocated and thus produce is only available at the small grocery stores. The scaffolding mentioned was put up due to facade restoration works of the palazzo opposite us in view of Valletta Capital of Culture 2018 and it will be removed once works are completed. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hosting you in the near future.
