Our two bedroom Vacation Rental Home in Buckley Bay, has 200 feet of waterfront including a private beach. The home is nestled amongst tall trees with incredible 180 degree views of the Ocean, BC Coastal Mountains and the Northern Gulf Islands.

We live next door to the Beach House (the 2 houses are on the same property, but private to each other) and look after all our bookings and deal with our guests directly. We are originally from the UK and emmigrated to Canada in 1992 where we lived in Alberta for 10 years before moving out to the coast!

Lovely house, beautiful location!

This has truly been a wonderful holiday. The house is lovely, and the views over Buckley Bay are stunning, with a new surprise every day - such as rabbits and robins hopping across the lawn, seals swimming idly by, and Bald Eagles chattering in the trees. The location is superb for enjoying the North Eastern side of Vancouver Island, whether it be whale watching from Campbell River, hiking in the spectacular alpine meadows of Strathcona National Park,, caving at Horne Lake, or swimming in Tribune Bay on Hornby island. You may of course just choose to contemplate the view from the decking with a glass or two of wine, and watch the amazing sunrises, sunsets, and star-filled nights.

John and Sue made us feel immediately welcome, they are such a lovely couple, making sure we were settled in comfortably and had everything we needed. Everyone we met here in Vancouver Island has been lovely, but Sue and John were special.

This has been a really an amazing place to come on holiday.

Lovely property, Lovely location, Lovely owners

The property was ideally located opposite Denman Island with beautiful views. The Buckley Bay ferry was just down the road which allowed easy exploring of Denman Island and then onto Hornby Island.

Comox and Courteney also close of any exploring of the area.

The property is incredible clean, well appointed and fully stocked with everything that you need. The owners - Sue and John were extremely friendly and helpful.

We would definitely use this property again. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable. The Bolans.

UK Visitors

When booking from the UK and not knowing much about the area is always a risk but, from the moment we arrived at Buckley Bay, Beach House we knew that we had made the right decision. Money transfers, information and communication were first class, John and Sue were very helpful with advising 'things to do' around the area, and suitable hiking / walking trails.

We are two retired couples from the UK who travel regularly together, the house had everything that we needed, plenty of space (one bedroom /bathroom downstairs and one upstairs) so privacy was not a problem. On arrival the house was clean and welcoming, the kitchen has all the amenities and utensils that you need for cooking and meal preparation. First impressions when entering the first floor lounge is the beautiful uninterrupted view of the water, doors open out to a balcony which is lovely for morning coffee. Outside the large garden leads down to the water where there is also a picnic table, chairs and fire pit, a short stroll along the beach leads to a few small shops and petrol station useful for picking up fresh food and drink items. Also, in the garden is a hot tub, lovely to ease tired muscles after a hike.

We had a great seven days at the beach house, thank you John and Sue for your hospitality.

Clean, cozy, and relaxing

We loved our stay. John and Sue were so helpful and kind. The place was very well kept and provided most amenities needed. The oysters right out front we got to pick ourselves were amazing on the BBQ too! Hot tub was nice and clean. I would highly commended this place if you looking to get away and have a nice quiet stay. Just note one bedroom is on one floor and the other is downstairs so for the kids they would have to be older to feel comfortable by themselves.

Great getaway spot

We spent 5 days at the Buckley beach house and had a great time. The house is equipped with everything you need from washer/dryer, detergent, fully equipped kitchen, etc. and when you have kids with you that's a great plus. The views are spectacular and we ate all our meals out on the deck overlooking the water.

Like other reviews mentioned, the owners' house is right next door, but that did not reduce the amount of privacy or enjoyment. Sue provided us with some great recommendations on local beaches and restaurants and she and John were great hosts.

Our daughter enjoyed all the room to run around and the hot tub every evening. During low tide the beach was a great place to explore and collect shells. Vancouver Island did not disappoint and this was a great place to venture out from. We hope to be able to return.

Buckley Bay Beach House vacation rental is centrally located in Buckley Bay, a small community that is part of the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island, BC. Our waterfront location, with private beach, wildlife viewing and large garden, will keep you as busy as you want to be but if your itinerary includes getting out to see more of Vancouver Island (and there’s lots to see and do) we have some suggestions for you.

Whale watching (for killer whales!!), salmon fishing, golfing, hiking in wonderful Strathcona Provincial Park, downhill skiing/snowboarding/nordic skiing at Mount Washington Alpine Resort, great family fun exploring at Horne Lake Caves, visit Hornby Island (the ferry is just down the road) for lovely hiking along the bluffs in Halliwell Park or on the beach at Tribune Bay.
