Overview

About the property

Bedrooms 3, Bathrooms 2.5, Sleeps 8

This 3 bedroom hillside home on 2 acres has the feel of a secluded cabin and all the conveniences of being near town (2 miles west of Red Lodge). Upon entering you are met with expansive views of the West Fork of Rock Creek Valley in the Beartooth Mountains through the floor to ceiling windows that compromise the entire back side of the house. Across the valley is a large elk refuge where elk can be seen grazing during the winter months. From the house you can also see deer, turkeys, and if you’re lucky, a bear or moose. The house is full of custom touches throughout that make it warm and inviting including new wood floors and carpet, beautiful photos and artwork cover the walls and there are multiple 'woodsy' touches throughout. There is a new hot tub where you can soak and take in these beautiful views!

The living space on the upper levels includes the kitchen, living/dining area area, den/playroom and convenient powder room. The large living dining area has plenty of comfortable seating and offers opportunities to cozy up to a warm fire in the gas fueled 'wood' stove.

The kitchen is fully stocked including full-sized appliances, a large pantry and multiple kitchen 'gadgets' (see amenities list). There is plentiful tableware include a set of 'moose' dishes that make family/group eating fun and inviting. The den/playroom is separated from the main living room with French doors which allows kids to enjoy their stay while the adults enjoy the quiet. This room also offers beautiful mountain views from a large L-shaped sleeper sofa that can be made into a queen-sized bed. (There are curtains that can be closed over the French doors to create an additional bedroom.) A second seating area with couch and love seat includes a flat screen 32" TV with cable and DVD/VCR player. A door from the dining area provides access to the small upper deck with seating for four and a new 3 burner gas grill. The lower level includes 3 bedrooms and a full-sized bath and tucked away laundry area. Each bedroom has floor to ceiling windows that can be left open for views of the moon and stars at night and beautiful sunrises in the morning, or covered with blinds for those who choose to sleep in. Each bedroom has a door that allows access to the large outside patio. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed with en-suite bath and large, walk-in closet. The second and third bedrooms each have queen-sized beds with large closets and dressers available for storage. The third bedroom has a small sofa for quiet seating or a sleeping area for the littlest guests. This home is family/child-friendly. There are toys, books, puzzles, children’s plastic dishes in the kitchen and standing stools in each bathroom to help little ones reach the sinks.

Lovely home and location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in Elk Mountain for my daughter's Red Lodge Wedding and were happy with our stay. The house has great amenities with a well provisioned kitchen and linens. Beds are comfortable and the views from the rooms are spectacular. Even tho you are only a few miles from downtown Red Lodge when you look out the windows you seem to be nearly alone. The main floor was wonderfully accessible for my 82 yr old Mother who needed to use a walker and wheelchair to get around. The family/day room with its day bed and reclining couch gave a private and comfortable sleeping area for my mother and father as well. We had only two issues during our 5 day stay. First, we were not able to use the hot tub because wasps had taken up residence under the tub and when you turn on the jets they came swarming out. AAA Red Lodge Rental, the property manager, tried to bomb the wasps for us but their removal will require a more substantial exterminator to make the tub accessible again. Second, I would also like to suggest to the owner that if they intend to continue renting during the the increasingly warm Red Lodge summers they consider AC in at least the main floor. With all those wonderful windows, even with the shades and windows closed to try to keep the space cooler, on the day the outside temperature reached 97 degrees it was 89 degrees inside the main floor. The lower level was comfortable but being bedrooms and down a set of stairs it wasn't a good place for family conversation. Our family would certainly come back during a cooler part of the year because it is a lovely home with great amenities and awesome views.

We WILL be back!

This place is even more beautiful than the pictures! The view is breath taking. The cabin is amazing and has everything you could ever need! My husband and I spent a relaxing long weekend here and it was perfect. The hot tub was awesome! We spent one day walking around town, bar hopping and window shopping and then spent the of the weekend relaxing at the cabin!

Highly recommended!!

An Amazing Get-A-Way

  • 5 of 5

This property was more than what we could have imagined. It is so close to the beautiful city of Red Lodge, the ski resort and has space not crowded out by neighbors. The property has an incredible vista of the Beartooth Mountains and the valley. The house was very clean, organized and had all the accommodations (laundry, dishwasher, hot tub etc.). The customer service was great and they called on our second day to see if we needed anything and make sure things were going well. Anyone looking for a great place to escape should stay here. Incredible overall experience.

Great place - everything you need

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here to ski at Red Mountain and horseback ride. Very nice home, large open living spaces with beautiful view. The home was very clean, everything was in great working order, nice hot tub, plenty of towels and blankets and room for everyone to relax. The best equipted kitchen we have ever seen in a rental home which was a treat because we enjoy cooking.
