Nauvoo Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our Nauvoo reunion very much. We had plenty to do in the area - the LDS church has made learning about history fun. We enjoyed wagon rides, blacksmith demonstrations, and a play at the old Nauvoo Theater. We did some small trips over to Carthage, Illinois - great Mexican restaurant there, and Hannibal, MO for a Riverboat cruise on the Mississippi.

The house was big, with a bathroom (almost) for each person:-) It was great to be in the same house with our whole family. The house was very nicely appointed for our needs. The kitchen was easy to cook in, but you definitely had to bring in your own groceries from out of town. The closest grocery store is about 20 miles away. So you will want to plan a menu and have a grocery list for your trip into town.

It was a very enjoyable time and we wish we could have extended our stay even longer. The house was a perfect location for a family reunion with nice suites and big social gathering rooms. It was great!

Perfectly quaint!

  • 5 of 5

This home is so quaint and comfortable! It was the perfect size for our family. Everyone loved it and said they wished they could live in it. It was very clean and provided everything we needed. We loved our stay in Nauvoo. This was one of our best trips and stays thanks to this lovely home and its owner and care takers. Thank you!

Roomy with Every Convenience

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this home. The owner and manager were very easy to work with and very accommodating. The house was very large, with every convenience. I felt like everything was well thought through. We had 2 large families staying there yet never felt crowded. I loved that they had a crock pot to use. It made dinner easy on a busy day and evening. I will stay here again, and would recommend this home to anyone. Spacious Bedrooms where the parents could have an escape and the cousins could all hang out, and enough bathrooms (5) that there was never a line or wait. Also it was nice to be able to do laundry. There were two gathering areas besides the kitchen one for adults and one for the kids. The kitchen was spacious with several tables. I felt like they thought of everything we could possibly need to make our stay easy, restful and convenient.

Large enough for our family

  • 3 of 5

This was a convenient place to stay while visiting Nauvoo. But cleanliness could improve. Didn't look like deep cleaning has been done in a very long time. Just service cleaning. When we arrived the floors had not been vacuumed and the bathrooms were not very clean. The manager was gracious enough to come and clean it for us while we were there. Pots and pans were limited to use for small families. No large cooking pans or frying pans to cook for 18 people. A large griddle would be great and baking cake pans would also improve the kitchen. The crock pot was great though. Large enough for the family. And enough plates and silverware and cups for everyone. We had a wonderful time despite the cleanliness. Suggestions: clean under couches and end tables at least once a month. Clean ceiling fans at least twice a year or more if needed. They were pretty bad.

A great place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

The local manager was very friendly and helpful. The house is big and attractive. The extra space in the basement was a huge bonus for my teenage grandsons. The only negative was that the one of the upstairs bunk beds was wobbly and unsafe and we could not find an allyn wrench to tighten it. It was a busy holiday weekend so I didn't both calling the manager. We simply pulled the mattresses onto the floor and the kids were quite content. I reported the situation via phone as we checked out of the Brickhouse and I'm sure the problem has been taken care of. So yes... I highly recommend this lovely home as a great place to stay when you visit Nauvoo.
