I've lived in Northwest Pensacola almost all my life. The area offers a lot of activities to enjoy. This property is very unique, lots of private space and super close to any shopping (3 miles) save on your vacation time and gas. It is very serene and restful.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
We felt welcome the minute we walked in the door. This home has everything you need. The beds are very comfortable and we all slept very well in such a peaceful, quiet setting. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you should need. There is plenty of seating around the large kitchen island or at the dining table for everyone to enjoy a meal together. The pool and deck are perfect for lounging around and enjoying the Florida weather. The covered porch provided a great place to gather, play cards, and watch the tropical storms pass. The backyard is amazing and we saw deer, chased dragonflies, and the teenagers enjoyed the deck area near the pond - a little getaway area for them. Wi-Fi available and we experienced no problems. We loved our time here. The listing description is accurate however you cannot describe the feelings you experience when you arrive. Wonderful. The property is clean and well-maintained. We highly recommend this property! Susan is a very gracious host and we are very grateful to have been able to stay in her home.
I thought I wrote a review already, but I was looking to re-rent this place and saw that I hadn't reviewed my last stay. My husband and I stayed here last year for our honeymoon. It was perfectly secluded. We loved the lake and the pool. We had a few problems with the AC, but that was the only negative. We can't wait to come back and visit soon! We are hoping to stay when the weather is just a little warmer; as we went in October there were a few days it was a little too cold for the pool.
This has been a horrible experience with VRBO. The owner will not return our security deposit although we did not stay in the house. The side entry door where the key was hidden was filthy. The game room had a pool table and what appeared to be a cabinet for a TV, books, games but it contained a very old TV with old paint cans stacked on and around it. There was a musty smell throughout the house. The refrigerator had partially used containers of food in it. The pantry was over half filled with junk, someone elses food and cans of beer. There were dishes in the dishwasher. There was a rusty, dirty toaster oven on the counter. The pool could have been very nice if it were maintained. The water was cloudy and there was green algea on the bottom of the deep end thick enough it could be swept. There was a broken, crumpled chaise lounge. 2 other chaise lounges were too stained and dirty to sit on. 2 rusty folding chairs were available. A table and chair set was in bad need of paint was on the deck also. The door from the pool to the house was also very dirty. When we reported to the owner that the property was too poorly maintained and dirty for us to stay in, she said we left because of the weather. It was 90 degrees and sunny that day and every day after. Perfect for the pool but being pool owners, we knew the pool could not be made clean enough to use in a short time. There was a bent steel rack on the front porch and a table leaf in the foyer. With all the easily visible lack of care and maintenance, we did not feel we could stay there. The linens may have seen the same neglect. The house appears to be storage for what the owner does not want. We have stayed in rentals for years and have never encountered a problem. The owner disputed the negative reviews that were written but we should have heeded the warning. This is not a place you want to stay in.
The Lakefront home was well decorated and very comfortable. We liked the fact that the house was set back far from the road; it made it feel more private and secluded. The saltwater pool was warm and welcoming and the lake behind the house provided good fishing. If we pass through the area again, this will be our go to!
Spacious and comfortable, served our group of 6 very well. Although clean, needed deep cleaning. Some crucial lights were missing (over the stove, the dining table, etc.). Cookware worn out teflon. Pool was nice.
First, I want to say this house is absolutely amazing!!!! The setting is so perfect and the pool is the icing on the cake. It was very private, which my family and I loved and the beds were so comfortable. We really did enjoy ourselves.
Ok, this is why I gave this home a 3 star. When we arrived at the home everything was neat and in it's proper place but there were a few spider webs on items at the home and I foud myself resweeping a few areas. My husband and I felt like it could use a deep cleaning and spraying for bugs. We saw a few cock roachs and spiders. I also thought the pool area needed to be sprayed for ants around the pool, they seemed to be everywhere. We were also really disappointed with the communication with the owner. We we're running a little late and didn't get to meet her, which was a bummer, but my husband and I really wanted to stay an extra night and I sent several messages on homeaway and never got a response:(.
Overall we we're very pleased with the home and would probably come back. It was a great getaway for us to relax and our kids to enjoy the pool.
