4 bed house with private pool on 3 acres

As you will have seen from the site this is a terrific 4 bedroom house on 3 acres of private grounds with a 12X5 metre swimming pool for your exclusive use.

There are three double bedrooms and one twin room. There are two bathrooms.

There is a large L shaped living & dining room and a newly fitted kitchen.

At the front of the house there is a wonderful south facing terrace - this is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee, relax, and catch lots of sun and/or barbecue in the evening. There is an 8 seater table on the terrace.

A short stroll down to the gardens will bring you to the swimming pool - a great place to cool off or relax in the sun. There is ample garden furniture and sun lounges around the pool

At the rear of the house there is a lovely shaded woodland area - all part of the grounds of the house.

The house is not overlooked by any other house which provides great tranquillity.

Guestbook comments from the owner

La Claperie Villa is a gorgeous country Villa set in the most beautiful of surroundings, a garden to die for, trees and birds a plenty.

A large pool with exclusive use which was very private, not overlooked in any way and the wonderful trees will provide shade which was needed as it was 30 degrees in June 2014!

A very large balcony/terrace which allows you to survey the gorgeous grounds with plenty of outside furniture. The kitchen is large new and modern with plenty of cupboards and plenty of crockery and utensils.

And all this just a pleasant 15-20 minutes stroll to the lovely Venice like village of Brantome, love it there.

We have put plenty of gorgeous photos of La Claperie on our personal Face Book pages singing its praises, stating that we feel like we have won the lottery as La Claperie is a gorgeous property in a perfect setting close to a gorgeous village….friends asking where we had found it….providing a link for them after enquiries.

We look forward to staying at La Claperie in the future, you have a beautiful villa in La Claperie

Lovely spacious house in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

This was our third visit to La Claperie and we are already looking forward to returning again next summer! The house is set in lovely grounds with a good sized (though sometimes chilly!) swimming pool. It is in a super location, ideal for walking into the beautiful town of Brantome which has a good and varied selection of restaurants and shops.

Excellent customer service from the owner David, who supplies plenty of information to make your stay easy and is only too pleased to help in any way. Do look at his restaurant recommendations, we have very successfully tried most of them! We treated ourselves to lunch at the Moulin de L'Abbaye this time - well worth the experience (be sure to book a table on the terrace by the river). Other favourites with us are 'Les Jardins de Brantome', 'Au Fil de L'Eau' and 'Au Fil de Temps'.

We recommend having a go at the canoeing in Brantome and don't miss the Friday market in the town. Another market well worth a visit is at Sarlat on a Wednesday (or Saturday), it's a fair drive away but you won't be disappointed and do pop in to the nearby beautiful hillside fortress town of Domme while you're in that area.

Wow, what a place, it stands out as one of the best places we have stayed as a family. We have now been 7 years in a row. May - June - July - August. Any month is wonderful and each has its own pleasures. The peace and quiet of the place is so nice, the private pool (skinny dips abound). The lovely walks from the house down through the vineyards towards the town. A busy market on a Friday but also well served with 2 super-markets and many interesting shops to spend a while looking for that little holiday gift. There are many great restaurants and as a family of 6 we have tried a few. Still have more to try so will continue to return to this lovely area of France.

The house has all you need for up to 9 people, 3 doubles and 3 singles, so a large family or 2 family groups would be well catered for. The pool is large enough to enjoy a good swim and the grounds are plentiful, for either a kick about or a game of badminton. I have 3 teenage boys who are full on with their sport, so they enjoy this space, my wife enjoys the relaxed time of sitting and reading and again there is plenty of room for her too. All in all it is a place you will want to return to, as I said earlier we have many times and with different family and friends combinations

A Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday. I never thought that we would find anywhere as beautiful as Brittany but the Dordogne is breathtaking. Your home is comfortable and ideally situated to walk into Brantôme. When we first stepped onto the balcony all we could say was, "Wow". Would love to return soon.

“This is a great holiday home in a great location - only a short walk to restaurants and the lovely town of Brantome. The owner is a true gentleman and could not have been more helpful -it was a pleasure to deal with him. P Albon Sussex”

Brantôme (pop. 2,100), is known as the Venice of the Dordogne, lies in the beautiful Dromme valley. The town has an abbey which was founded in 769. There is a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants & a market on Friday.

Many places of interest nearby include Château de Richemont Home of the Abbots of Brantôme. The village of Villars offers three attractions; the Château de Puyguilhem, the Abbaye de Boschaud and the prehistoric caves at the Grotte de Villars.

Bourdeilles just further downstream from Brantôme, has a 16th Century Renaissance Château built alongside the earlier 12th Century Fortress.

Périgueux, 20 minutes away, is the principal city of the region and has much to offer in the way of sophisticated shopping and fine dining to suit all tastes and pockets. The markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays are an absolute must. Château de Hautefort, Sarlat, Bergerac and Cognac are all within 'day-trip' distance as is the fabulous pilgrimage to the vineyards of Bordeaux.
