About Hazel Wells

I first visited mainland Spain in December 2002 when the apartment was little more than a building site. As soon as I climbed onto what is now the roof terrace I fell in love with the view and the rest is history. We've spent many a lovely holiday here together with friends and family and discovered how beautiful this part of Spain is. We wish you a wonderful holiday in this very special place.

Why Hazel Wells chose Marbella

We were looking for a holiday home which would also be a place we could enjoy the winter sun. Marbella has it's own unique climate being positioned in Southern Spain protected by the Mountains. Its not unusual to find us swimming in the sea in November (though it has to be said you do not see any Spanish swimming at this time!)

What makes this apartment unique

The views from the roof terrace are amazing, you can lie back on the hammock and watch all different kinds of birds fly past, enjoy romantic dinners under the stars or enjoy a BBQ with the family. The location here means you can enjoy the peace and quiet, wonderful beaches and the buzz of Marbella. A holiday here can be as busy and exciting as you wish, or maybe you just want to enjoy the peace and quiet, that's the beauty of the apartment, it really is the best of both worlds.

Secure gated residential complex with video entry phone, electric shutters, underground parking for 2 vehicles. Access to the apartment via a lift (or stairs). Double glazing, air conditioning/central heating, plus log fire in lounge. Cream marble floors with underfloor heating in bathrooms. Music system. Inside the property is non smoking, though smoking is allowed on the roof terrace. Outside: The biggest terrace ever 360 views of the mountains, hills and sea. Covered area with 6 chairs and table for al fresco dining. Built in barbecue, Double Hammock plus sun loungers provided.

wonderful, peaceful and spacious

Stayed for a wonderful short break with girlfriends in the Autum - a pre-winter sun-soaker. The apartment is spacious, clean, well kept and well equipped and we found everything we needed to make our stay easy and enjoyable. You will need a car to get about / to the shops etc - there is secure parking in the basement area. A shared outdoor pool is available in the summer but was shut when we were there in October / November - no problem though as the sea and beach (and great beach bar) are within 15 mins walk.

The apartment is secure and quiet at night, with the largest roof terrace of all in the block, offering views over the sea and the mountains (and great for star-gazing after it goes dark).

Happy to recommend - I found the owner very helpful and communicative.

Superb outdoor living

We joined friends at this smashing penthouse for a weeks stay in June.

The property is on the edge of the town in a gated residential development with its own refreshing pool. We went to local beaches most afternoons - a few minutes drive. Shopping in a huge mall or the market was also only a few minutes drive.

We spent 90% of our time on the huge terrace and the property is clearly someone's home so everything you need is there and it was comfortable and clean.

The lovely Janet welcomed us and saw us in with starter provisions so we were relaxed from the first minute. Thank you!

We're booking to go back for a week in the autumn and can't wait!

Beautiful and Peaceful

What a beautiful penthouse apartment with fabulous views this is! Great views of mountains, olive groves and the sea with birds flying around our ears. Clearly somebody's private home rather than a pure rental property, we found everything that we might need easily to hand.

It has a massive terrace where we could sunbath at any time during the day and was equally comfortable after sunset with a big fireplace, comfy leather sofas and a good TV (we brought films with us on DVDs and USB sticks).

We did need the car, as the owner advised us, as the main shops are 5-10 minutes drive away and the same for restaurants etc. This suited us as we wanted the peace and quiet and we loved our stay. We visited restaurants from Estapona to Benahavis to Coin and enjoyed them all.

Excellent Property Highly Recommended

We stayed at the apartment during Autumn Half Term. Our party comprises myself and husband in our 50's, our son who is 11 and my father who is 87 - so we span a large age range and everyone was delighted with the accommodation and the location. The apartment is spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained with all the facilities and appliances you could wish for. The terrace is just magnificent and the underground car parking is really useful especially on hot days!!

We are very familiar with the area which has lots of good restaurants and attractions within reasonably driving distance.

Hazel the owner is a lovely, friendly person who is very helpful. Unfortunately because of the time of year the swimming pool was not open so we had to make alternative arrangements but Hazel the owner had forewarned us of this. Hazel had also advised us that a car was pretty essential which was good advice as the apartment is located a few minutes drive from sea/shopping etc.

I would certainly recommend the apartment for couples and families.

A Welcome Late Summer Break

This apartment was a recommendation and we were certainly not disappointed with what we found. The accommodation was extremely spacious and well appointed spread over two floors with a bathroom on each floor and terraces leading off each floor where sun or shade could be found at different times of the day. The kitchen was well equipped and the dining area could be useful on cooler evenings although we always ate outside.

The most spectacular of the terraces was the very spacious roof terrace where we enjoyed far reaching views from the sea to the mountains, enabling us to enjoy sunshine from sunrise to sunset,t but with some welcome shade at midday under the canopy. One of our favourite spectator sports was watching from the roof terrace the kite surfing at Palm beach where there is also an excellent bar/restaurant.

The apartment benefits from a communal swimming pool and adjoining children's pool set in landscaped gardens, and for golfers Rio Real is just up the road, as is La Canada supermarket and shopping complex where you can buy just about anything.

Marbella, which is only 10 minutes or so away, by car, is worth exploring with lots of places to shop and eat and for those who enjoy history and heritage the Old Town is a must. Ronda and Mijas are also within easy reach by car and well worth a visit.

An excellent apartment, thoroughly recommended.

Car: necessary

We recommend a car as essential. From the Airport the easiest route is to use the toll road taking the 1st exit for Marbella and then just follow back on the coast rd until you reach 'Torre Real' alternatively you can follow the N340. La Canada is just 5 minutes drive from the apartment and has over 100 shops including a hypermarket. Marbella town is equally a very short drive, with Puerto Banus about 15 mins. The nearest beach is a 2 minute drive or 15 mins walk, plus plenty of chiringuitos (beach bar) to choose from, along the miles of sandy beaches, whether you'd like a simply cooked fish lunch or to go to one of the glamorous destinations. Plenty of places to visit including Ronda, with its stunning gorge, is an hour away, and Gibraltar doesn't take much longer. Granada with its most beautiful Alhambra Palace is just over 2 hrs away (though you do need a pre purchased timed ticket for the main part).

Please note the swimming pool is unheated and open from 1st June until 30th September. There are nearby hotels and municipal pools which are available outside of these dates.
