The apartment is on the ground floor in an elegant building of eight storeys, built in 1933 and with porter.

It’s situated in a quiet street in the Appio - Latino district, 2 km from the Coliseum and the Appia Antica Park and within walking distance of public transportation stops connecting in minutes to the historic centre and the most important monuments and museums of Rome.

The apartment 80 square meters large and was renovated in 2009. It can comfortably accommodate from 2 to 6 people and consists of a large entrance, a bedroom with double bed, one single bedroom and possibility of extra bed, an independent kitchen fully equipped and furnished with appliances, lounge with dining area and two sofas (one convertible to double bed), bathroom with sink, toilet, bidet and bath, a bathroom with sink, toilet and shower, a closet. The windows face south-west on a bright and quiet courtyard.

The apartment is equipped with everything needed to enjoy a wonderful holiday.

In the neighbourhood - Cultural Sites: The Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano. It ‘s the first of the four papal basilicas and the oldest church in the West.

The Basilica of St. Croce in Gerusalemme. Lies in an area rich in history, art and spirituality.

The National Museum of Musical Instruments in Rome. The major European institution of this kind.

The Valley of the Caffarella and the Regional Park of Appia Antica. The Valley of the Caffarella is the most important testimony of the ancient agricultural landscape near the city but also rich in monuments of every age. The valley is part of the Appia Antica Park along where you can find a large number of testimonies and monuments that tell the history of Rome.

In the neighbourhood - Shopping: Via Appia Nuova. It’s one of the most important shopping streets in the city and with its 3 miles of shops and the longest window of Rome. You can find all kinds of shops, many of clothing, but not limited to: accessories, furniture, footwear, toys, jewellery, libraries, leather goods, textiles and more.

Via Sannio Market. It's a historic and picturesque outdoor market clothing, but not only. It’s possible to find everything to renew the wardrobe: designer clothes, fake, new and used stock of past seasons, handbags and accessories, shoes and more. To save money is essential to negotiate the price with the trader. Open every day from 8.00 to 14.00 except Sunday.

Coin. It's an elegant department store dedicated to clothing, to interior decoration an furniture, accessories and beauty. On the top floor is a panoramic restaurant.

In the neighbourhood - Sports and nature: The Valley of the Caffarella and the Regional Park of Appia Antica are the ideal place to practice sports and spend a day in peace and in contact with nature away from city chaos.

Jogging. Valley of the Caffarella is a favorite place for Romans to go jogging along its paths.

Biking. At Park headquarters and at Information points of Park of the Appia Antica you can rent bicycles to explore all the monuments and the most beautiful places in the Park.

Horse riding. Within the perimeter of the park there are some riding centres that offer possibility of horseback riding along the Appia Antica.

Great location with easy access to the Roma Metro

We really enjoyed our stay in Roma thanks to the excellent accommodations provided by our host Andrea. The apartment was easy to get to since it is about three blocks from the Re di Roma Metro stop and Andrea met as we exited the Metro. The building is in a good area with quiet neighbors. The apartment has new or nearly new appliances, dishes and utensils, and the two full baths were a big plus. There were four adults sharing this apartment and we were very comfortable. The apartment has excellent WiFi with a fast service that allows for quick downloads.

Don't be fooled into thinking that you have to be centrally located in the tourist areas. You are better off staying at this apartment that is just outside of central Roma and provides cheaper prices for food, groceries, and gelato.

The next time we go to Roma, we will be saying with Andrea again. Thanks Andrea for having us!

Home From Home

We had a very pleasurable 4 week stay at Andrea's apartment. It is clean and modern and has every facility you might need - from a washing machine to inclusive wi-fi.

The apartment is in a great area, close to piazza Re Di Roma and Via Appia Nuova where you can find the metro station and plenty of shops. San Giovanni is just a few minutes walk.

Andrea was most courteous and helpful.

It was perfect for our long stay in Rome.

Great place for a week in Rome

We stayed 7 nights in Andrea's ground floor apartment very near the metro stop Ri de Roma. It was just great. It's a big brick apartment building in a solid middle class neighborhood and all that that implies. Our 20 year old slept in one bedroom, my husband in another, and I slept on the very comfortable fold out sofa. Ikea decorating, new and clean. It was so quiet at night you thought you were in the country, except for one week-end night when there was a football match at the neighbors - but they finished up for 10:30 or 11.

There's a delicious little grocery store across the street. The gas stove and equipped kitchen let us prepare easy, tasty meals when we wanted after a day of walking and sightseeing. It's an easy kilometer walk to the Coliseum passing by St Jean de Latran, the first basilica in the city.

There are millions of clothes stores around the neighborhood, a wonderful tiramisu pastry shop on the 'place' as well as a grocery store open on Sunday mornings. Also a breakfast place across the street from the apartment.

For you USers concerned about shower power, it was just fine.

Andrea got us a private taxi to go back to the airport when we left. And next time I'll ask him to have it come pick us up as taxi drivers were a bit bewildered with the address. Too residential I think, and maybe not touristic enough which helped make it such a nice place to stay.

Great Apartment, Great Value

We (my family of 3) stayed in the apartment in September and found it excellent on all counts.

The apartment was clean, simply decorated, spacious and everything (cooker, television….) worked.

There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance as well as a supermarket, and the close proximity of the Re di Roma metro made access to everywhere very easy.

Andrea was extremely helpful, and arranged taxis to and from the airport.

I would have no problems renting this apartment again and would unreservedly recommend it.

Definitely value for money and highly recommended!

We are a Dutch family and stayed in this apartment in August 2012, two adults and two children (9 and 12).

Email replies before booking were acurate and pleasant. Andrea gave us good information to reach the apartment by bus and metro. When we arrived, he showed us around and left us well informed.

The apartment is very spacious and was clean. In the hallway, there is a lot of information about the neighborhood and the city, including some maps to carry around. Two bathrooms is great when staying with four or more. The beds were comfortable.

Although there is no air conditioning, the whole apartment isn't too hot, even in august. Maybe that's because it is located on the building's lowest floor. In the livingroom, there's a large fan for those who don't like italian summers. We used it the first day only.

The apartment is very close to a metro station, a nice square and some supermarkets and even a McDonalds. We kept our groceries cool in the large fridge. Water in Rome is fresh and tastes good, no need to buy spa.

The apartment is very secure because it's frontdoor and windows are not at streetlevel. Neighborhood was clean and felt save. We could hear the neighbors, but not disturbing and not at night.

The apartment is nice decorated, minimal, with plenty wardrobes, tiles on the floor, just the way we like it. Wifi internet is available, in case of malfunction, power down the modem for a minute and it will work again.

This apartment is definitely value for money and is highly recommended by us.
