We enjoyed our week by the sea in this clean, quiet and well equipped house. The kitchen is fully stocked so we were able to easily do most of our cooking and eating at home. The back deck is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy an evening cocktail. The beach is beautiful and endless and about a three minute walk away. We have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone who likes cleanliness, solitude, beach walking, beach fishing and bird watching. Thanks for sharing your property.
Wow! This well appointed house was just the thing we needed to visit with our daughter and her friend, and to make excursions to St. Augustine, Orlando, Cape Canaveral, Daytona Beach, and northeastern Florida. No trip was longer than 1 1/2 hours - easy! Richard was wonderful, making sure that everything fell into place like clockwork. It would be hard to imagine a better orchestrated stay anywhere, and how glad we were that we hadn't rented a sterile high-rise condo - this was SO much better. Everything you need will be there, except of course the fridge will be clean and empty when you arrive, and you'll need to stock your own spices, salt & pepper etc. Had the best time here, just loved the solitude of the beach, and finding a mermaid's purse and a horseshoe crab shell. The neighborhood is quiet, but if you make the effort, the neighbors are friendly. We ate meals mostly out of town or prepared our own meals, but the Lagerhead's bar serves the best shrimp basket I have ever had, and down on Granada, we had a fantastic final breakfast at Peach Valley Cafe before regretfully returning to our other life in California. Richard and Laura, you made our ten days in Florida PERFECT and thank you SO MUCH! We hope to return!
The cottage was absolutely perfect for myself and my two children. It was beautifully appointed and well stocked with beach-necessary items (towels, chairs, umbrella, shovels/pails). I spent numerous mornings walking to end of the block with my coffee and just taking in the amazing views...so peaceful! A brief storm knocked out the wifi and Rich was on it immediately. We just loved out time in Ormond and would return in a heartbeat.
We didn't think our stay here could get any better after our first amazing visit together last summer, but this week truly has been an unforgettable getaway filled with gorgeous weather, delicious dining, outdoor adventures and perfect accommodations! We enjoyed a few restaurants that were new to us, including Betty's A1A Cafe and The Grind. The swimming was also perfect as the water was continually warm and the sun was always shining all week long. We took a 15-minute drive to Bulow Creek State Park, where we hiked 4 miles and visited a sugar mill plantation. One of our favorite parts of staying in this cottage is the easy access to safe and pleasant neighborhood walking. We saw dolphins, crabs, lizards at the beach, which makes Ormond-by-the-Sea an exotic and lovely place. You cannot go wrong by staying at this house. It's so close to walk to the beach and is the most relaxing place to stay around!
We were very satisfied with both the location and the accommodations. The property was as advertised, very clean and as presented in the photos. The beach is a few minutes walk down the road and is lovely...almost like having your own private beach. The location is very quiet and in a friendly neighbourhood. It is also convenient for shopping, dining and sight seeing. There is a well stocked Publix Grocery Store located on A1A and two of our favourite restaurants were Betty's A1A and Peach Valley, located nearby on Granada. The owners of the property are very accommodating and responsive to any questions or concerns. We enjoyed ourselves very much and are considering making this an annual getaway.
We had a great time at the beach cottage. Pictures were very accurate to how it looked. Nice residential area. Neighbors were friendly. Short walk to uncrowned beach. Close to everything but quiet retreat for the night.
