Overview

About the property

Newly restored 6 bedroom villa with private pool

Villa Celentano is a splendid two-story villa located on a hillside, facing the sea and can sleep up to 14 people. From Villa Celentano, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea in the distance, of Vico Equense, the Sorrento Coast and of the surrounding hills.

Villa Celentano is 250 metres squared. It features one spacious, private, long terrace/balcony with a view of the sea, private above ground swimming pool, air conditioning and winter heating. It is perfect for a large family retreat, celebration or friendly gathering. Being 11km from Sorrento, Villa Celentano is great for sight-seeing, but it is off the beaten track therefore avoiding the tourist chaos.

The villa is situated approximately 30 metres from the nearest shops, including an infamous butchers with delicious meat. The bus stop (Circumvesuviana, the local bus) is just opposite the villa and will take you to the local beach (Vico Equense) in 20 minutes and the train station. From here, you can take the train to Sorrento or Pompeii in just 20 minutes. There is a restaurant and pizzeria just below the villa (which also offers a pizza delivery service) and many other pizzerias and restaurants within a 10 minutes drive from the property. We can organise a food hamper for your arrival and home delivery of pizza on request.

Villa Celentano is situated in a village called Ticciano, which is nestled in the hills of Sorrento Peninsula, near the town of Vico Equense. Villa Celentano offers all guests the opportunity to make excursions, nature walks, boat trips, guided tours and is only a 20 minute trip to the beach. The villa can also provide a guided tour of the surrounding mountains, Mount Faito, (Path of the Gods) and arrange a BBQ. Spend relaxing moments in the middle of nature and also live the 'real life' like people from the Sorrento peninsula, outside the usual tourist haunts ... For lovers of gourmet, there are local restaurants and wine bars nearby, which offer typical regional and national produce. Ticciano is connected by a road which leads to Sorrento and Vico Equense. It is also an ideal starting point for excursions to the famous Positano and the Amalfi Coast, Capri and the fascinating ruins of Pompeii.

The villa has 6 air conditioned/heated double bedrooms, five of which are en-suite (2 bedrooms have a passage across the larger bedroom). There is also a large open plan, fully equipped kitchen and dining room with two double sofa beds and access to the terrace/balcony. Next to the kitchen, there is a utility and a bathroom. Up to 14 people can be seated, therefore it is perfect for a large family gathering or special occasion. Four of the bedrooms (all ensuite) are on the ground floor and two are on the first floor with a shared bathroom. Additional foldable beds can be added to any of these larger bedrooms. One of the bedrooms on the first floor has a sea view and the other has a mountain view. Of the four bedrooms on the ground floor, two have an independent access via the courtyard but no sea view. These two bedrooms can access the terrace via the lounge/dining room. The other two bedrooms are only accessible from the outside via the terrace. All bedrooms have air conditioning/heating and are well equipped. They have a LCD flat screen TV, mini fridge, desk and chair. All the bathrooms have a shower, WC, wash basin, bidet and heated towel rail. Both from the balconies and from the court yard, you have direct access to the solarium and pool area. There are 2 rooms have passage across the larger bedroom. The BBQ is situated by the pool.

The owners live next door but have a separate entrance and you can enjoy the use of a wood burning oven, on the roof top of their property, free of charge but on request. The swimming pool is 5 metres long, 3 metres wide and 1.40 metres deep. The swimming pool area is equipped with tables, chairs, deck chairs, sun loungers and an outdoor shower. From the swimming pool, you will enjoy the sea in the distance and views of the surrounding hills and mountains. The pool is open from the beginning of April until the end of October.

To make most of your stay at Villa Celentano, you will need a car. There are up to 4 gated car park spaces at the property for small/medium (not large) sized cars just outside the front door. The last 20 metres from the main road up to the villa is a tight and windy road. If you have a large car, there is a free public car park 50 metres from the villa.

Very nice house in the mountains with good connections to everwhere in the region.

  • 5 of 5

After an hour drive from Naples airport ( last 6 km small roads in the mountains ) you already arrive at the house. It has spacious rooms with 5 double beds and some sleeping possibilities in the living room as well. It is very clean and well maintained. Owners are very friendly and try to make themselves understandable. We got to know Carmine from Naples Villas , who made sure our stay was very well organised ( we booked through him an excursion to Capri with private boat, a visit to a Limoncello factory and a visit to a local family who produces mozarella ) . He picked us up at the house and made sure we we arrived where we supposed to be. he made suggestions where to eat and what to visit. He made we had a vacation without worries !

The house is very well located to visit Sorento, Naples, Pompei, Amalfi coast and Capri . All within an hour drive from the house. Under the house there is a small restaurant ( basic and cheap ) and a shop.

Strongly recommend a stay over there !

Very nice villa bit far from facilities

  • 3 of 5

Enjoyable stay with friends ideal for a place to relax if you do not plan to venture far. Up a very narrow winding road about 30-40 mins from vic equense by local bus which is every 45 mins or so from early morning to around 10 pm. Easy train connections from Vico . But all the bus runs in the heat are tiring and you need to add to the planning of a day out so a little restrictive. Two very small shops in village that do sell all you need and and a pizza restaurant. We opted for pizza party which was very good and we would recommend. Owners are lovely not intrusive but helpful. We did all of our own excursions via bus and train. Villa is plenty big enough for 10 people any more money get be tight. Best to take own towels and hairdryer. Wifi was quite poor. Pool small but lovely needs sun brollys over the sun beds for additional shade.

There is a church bell next to villa on the hour every hour through the night which disturbs sleep.

Owner's Response: We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Celentano. We always value guests' feedback in order to improve the service we offer. It is a shame you didn't ask for more towels and sun parasols for extra shade if you had needed them as this wouldn't have been a problem. Also, we could have provided additional hairdryers. We can never guarantee how good the WIFI connection will be and this is, of course, something which is out of our control. Whilst you were there, there was a problem with internet for the whole of the Sorrento area which has now been fixed. This is also true of the church, which is traditional and typical in the entire area, although other guests have not mentioned it.

Location

The villa is situated in a village called Ticciano, which is nestled in the hills of Sorrento Peninsula, near the town of Vico Equense. The property offers all guests the opportunity to make excursions, nature walks, boat trips, guided tours and is only a 20 minute trip to the beach. The villa can also provide a guided tour of the surrounding mountains, Mount Faito, (Path of the Gods) and arrange a BBQ.

For lovers of gourmet, there are local restaurants and wine bars nearby, which offer typical regional and national produce. Ticciano is connected by a road which leads to Sorrento and Vico Equense. Spend relaxing moments in the middle of nature and also live the 'real life' like people from the Sorrento peninsula, outside the usual tourist haunts ...

VICO EQUENSE: The coast of this town has a succession of beaches with crystal clear waters and it retains much of the past: the only Gothic church of the entire peninsula, the Church of the Annunciation, founded by the Anjou and the castle, called Castle Giusso. Particularly relevant is the Mineralogical Museum Campano, which displays over 3,500 specimens of 1,400 species of minerals from around the world and an interesting selection of fossils.
