Overview

About the property

4 bedroomed Edwardian house close to beaches and town centre

A lovely brick built Edwardian house, Arden House is perfect for groups and families and sleeps up to eight. Wake up in the morning and look over the greens and fairways of this renowned links golf course and take the short stroll to the beach or town.

A lovely, traditional Rayburn complements the modern, stainless steel kitchen/diner and with two separate sitting rooms there is plenty of room for everyone to relax and have their own space. The main lounge has a flatscreen television with DVD and CD players, and an open fire to cosy up to on a chilly evening. The snug has a sofa, bean bags, television/DVD and CD player and makes it an ideal room for children to 'do their own thing'. There is ample storage in the garage for wetsuits and surfboards, and even a car! With the beach only a few minutes' walk away and the town just up the road, there is plenty for all the family and makes Arden House an ideal holiday retreat.

Great holiday house

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house in a great position. Easy for walks into town, beach and along the coast path. Arden house was well equipped... lots of essentials that sometimes you forget to take away! (not always the case in some rental properties. )

For 2 families there was more than enough space and the boys loved the ‘games room’ .

Would highly recommend this house !

Arden House - charming and perfect location

  • 4 of 5

Arden House is a spacious and well appointed holiday home in a superb location. Take the footpath across the golf course for an easy walk into Bude town centre, or its only a 10 minute walk down to Crooklets Beach with access to the beaches, sea pool and coastal paths. The kitchen is huge and all the rooms and bedrooms are furnished and equipped to a high standard. The downstairs toilet and shower room was great when arriving back from having been in the sea and on the beach, with a lovely garden for the dogs to play in when not out for walks. We have already booked for next year!

Charming family home

  • 4 of 5

Arden House is a traditional house retaining many original features which nevertheless provides a modern family space to enjoy a relaxed holiday. The downstairs living space provides a large area for families to play together or find a corner to have a quiet time. The second sitting room for the children is a real boon. The upstairs layout is delightful and again provides a lovely family space. The large kitchen is a real bonus for happy noisy families. As with all the properties we have had with Elite West (this was our 5th year) the situation is superb to enjoy all the the lovely town of Bude can offer. We have already booked for next year!

How the other half live.

  • 5 of 5

Excellent property with all mod cons, homely, comfortable and extremely well equipped. After a week sleeping in the master bedroom I now realise that I need a new bed! The whole house and location are perfect.

Wonderful Cornwal, wonderful Arden House!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks in Arden House in Bude, Cornwall. We stayed in the house with 7 adults and there was room enough for everyone! All the rooms are lovely, the big kitchen is great for cooking/eating with a large group. The views from the master bedroom are spectacular! The Bude beaches are great for surfing, sunbathing, rockpooling etc. Bude is a lovely town. Cornwall is sensational. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic family accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Arden House for Whit. There were four adults and four children and the house was spacious enough for all. We had everything we needed and items were of good quality, especially crockery and pans which can sometimes be a let down in holiday rentals. The property was really clean, nicely decorated and was very comfortable.

The house is in a great location, quiet but only a short walk both to the beach and the town centre. You can easily walk to both beaches but with the amount of beach stuff we had it was easier to pack up the car.

We went to Summerleaze, Widemouth and Sandymouth beaches and they were all fab and the kids spent most of the time with their boogie boards(wetsuits a must at the end of May!)

We would recommend day trips to Padstow and Clovelly if it's not beach weather and the Bush Inn a couple of miles away has good food in a beautiful setting. In Bude there are plenty of pasty shops and ice-cream places and is good for a little wander. There are two supermarkets close by for everything you need.

Overall Arden house is one of the best places in England we have stayed and I would highly recommend booking accommodation through Elite West holidays who were responsive and professional.

We had loads of fresh sea air and It was great watching the kids on the beach and forgetting the computer games for a week! We intend to return to Bude again next year.

Bude offers good shopping, a good array of restaurants and pubs. Splash swimming pool has a flume and health suite, and there is a leisure complex for bowling and indoor play. Boats can be hired on Bude canal and there is windsurfing, sailing, kayaking (either just hire or book lessons) at Lower Tamar Lake. We have an arrangement with the local Links course, Bude and North Cornwall, for our guests and there are good courses at nearby Holsworthy, St Enedoc and the Jack Nicklaus designed St Mellion. Widemouth Bay is considered one of the best surfing beaches in the area and we can arrange lessons for beginners and improver's. Bude has two superb beaches, Summerleaze and Crooklets, both ideal for bathing and surfing and Bude has one of the few remaining sea pools in the country which is perfect for youngsters when the waves are a little fierce. Lifeguards patrol most beaches and the pool throughout the summer months. There are outdoor pursuit centres, tennis, squash, horse riding and more
