About Nita Frederick
My Name is Nita Frederick. I grew up the daughter of an academic who conducted social science research overseas and a travel agent who was an avid, if not, addicted traveler and I have lived and traveled all over the world. Recently, I relocated to Lexington to make this lovely city my home. I chose Lexington because of its southern hospitality and historic charm…and it felt like home when I pulled into town. I started Bluegrass Vacation Rentals as one way to participate in the burgeoning urban revitalization of historic downtown and to share my enthusiasm for my new home with other avid travelers. One of the terrific things about Lexington and Lexingtonians is the small town feel and their hospitality. Within the historic downtown area you can walk to all kinds of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops and you will undoubtedly run into someone who will strike up a conversation with you, make you feel right at home, give you restaurant recommendations, directions, suggestions on what you should see or do while you are here, or tell you a story about living in Lexington. As a traveler in the US and abroad I have been welcomed and hosted by wonderful folks and now it is my turn to do the same. I look forward to your visit.

Great location, beautiful accomodations and great support and communication. Thanks Nita for making our stay fantastic!
Nita is the consummate hostess and will do everything to make you comfortable as well as make and locate recommendations for food and outings based on your needs.
The apt is in an upscale funky neighborhood where u are able to walk and see some beautiful old homes and very close to Transylvania university.
It is also convenient for accessing rt 60 to Keeneland and horse farms in the area as well as the clay estate and Lexington Cemetary
Perfect all around!
All was perfect - the place, the location, the reception and followup by Nita, and the closeness to so much in what is now one of our favorite cities. We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night stay with so much within walking distance. Lexington is so easy to drive around and in and out with closeness to numerous distilleries, horse farms, the Toyota plant tour, and a cooperage where the bourbon barrels are made. The Garden Suite was a perfect home base and so comfortable! Looking forward to another visit at the right time.
Place was clean and had everything we needed. Host was extremely helpful and provided many great suggestions. Walking distance to downtown and lots of great places. Convenient to a bike trail. Really enjoyed our stay.
Nita is amazing. From arrival to departure she was checking in that we had what we needed, gave us great ideas for things to do and suggestions for bourbon places. The apartment is super cute, very comfortable and for the 2 of us was perfect. The only tiny issue was the people above us who made a fair amount of noise, not a huge deal really but hard to watch movies sometimes with heavy stomping. We 100% recommend this place and Nita!
Great property. Super location.
The Garden Suite is an incredible property in a great location. The host has thought of everything, and if she hasn't, she will do her best to get it. Walking distance to everything downtown.
The property is tucked away on a quiet historic cul-de-sac called Hampton Ct. in downtown Lexington’s historic Northside neighborhood (http://northsidelex.com/index.html) just off of West Third.
It is centrally located and walking distance to all the popular downtown attractions including a myriad of restaurants, bars, and cafes, Rupp Arena, Lexington Convention Center, Transylvania University, The Lexington Opera House, The Kentucky Theatre, The Lyric Theatre, historic homes and sites, antique stores, the Saturday Farmers Market at Cheapside Pavilion, Thursday Night Live Music (April-Oct), and Lexington’s children’s museum, The Explorium, just to name a few.
If you hope in your car you can explore the bourbon trail, local wineries, Keeneland Racetrack, The Kentucky Horse Park, The Red Mile race track, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, hiking and mountain biking trails, or take a tour of the local horse farms.
