Not as advertised
Would like to give it 0/5 but can’t. We booked this placed based on the description on the website. It says 5 minute walk to Hershey which is not true. It’s a 5-7 minute drive. The view from the apartment was a parking lot and roof not the park as implied by the pictures. The apartment is above a restaurant/bar not explained in the description. You have to go through the back door and up several flights of extremely narrow stairs to get to the apartment. The smell was so gross going up to the apartment it was very offensive. While the apartment was clean, there were soft spots in the floor making us think we could fall through at any time. The floors were slanted and very noticeable in the bathroom felt like you were going to fall over. The beds were as hard as rocks. It was so bad we left after the first night and slept with family at a hotel. We only went back there to cook dinner because we have food allergies and didn’t have a choice. We actually left early as we couldn’t stay there. I cannot believe there hasn’t been other bad reviews of this place.
So close to the park. Very quiet apartment that has everything you need for a weekend getaway. My son loved the bunk beds!!
We had a great breakfast next door every morning before heading out for the day. We had a great dinner downstairs on evenings we wanted to get back to our air conditioned room so we could turn in early (a few times). Even though part of the park is only one block away, the entrance is on the opposite side of the park. If you are going to walk, make sure to ASK A LOCAL for directions. Google Maps (walking) seemed to think we could walk through a locked employee-only gate ;-)
Always ask a local! especially us, we would tell you about the free shuttle. Thank you for staying and thanks for the feedback
The location was great and very close to attractions. Its not as close with the change to the entrance for walking (solid 30minute walk to Hershey park or chocolate world). The entrance and exit was a bit awkward and dirty into the building, but it is over a restaurant and maybe should expect that. The building is old but the apartment itself was clean and big enough for our family of four. The bathroom had no outlets which made it hard for girls, women to get ready in the mornings. All in all if you want close location this will provide that.
Yes you are in a historic building with a restaurant below it. We have 2 entrances one nice and one well, back of the house. We show you both for safety sake and make a joke, that the kitchen one gives you the opportunity to grab some rolls when they deliver them from Philly at 5 in the morning but we are a unique destination for sure. Thank you for staying with us
Perfect location, older historic building
Very good experi nice with manager of restaurant who was our contact since owner of property was away. Cool historic building. Definitely an older apartment building with stairs that would be difficult to navigate for some. Apartment itself Was fine. Good working AC. You walk into the apartment into the kitchen. To the right off of kitchen is the small somewhat updated bathroom that is was clean and functional. To left of kitchen you walk into living space that has a pull out futon and TV and chair. If you walk through living room, the next room is the bedroom with a queen bed. You have to walk through this room to get to the other bedroom which has bunk beds. Overall, apartment clean, functional. Owner very accommodating and gracious. Ideal location.
Great location with a very welcoming host!
The apartment was in the heart of Hershey and walking distance to many attractions. We stayed with our 2 young kids for our trip to Hersheypark. Phil was extremely welcoming and helpful. We were also treated to a lovely bottle of wine in our room when we arrived. The restaurant downstairs and cafe next door are great. I would recommend this location to others!
10 Minute walk to HersheyPark
