Interaction with guests
We will always be available to answer any questions during your stay and make suggestions about the neighborhood - but otherwise we leave it to you to have a great visit in Brooklyn!
The house is situated on a quiet, tree-lined block, but a stones throw from all that lively Greenpoint has to offer. This vibrant waterfront community was historically a Polish area and is still peppered with family-owned bakeries, florists, and meat markets. In recent years, there’s been an influx of film production in the neighborhood –on any given day you may see the cast of Girls, The Good Wife, or The Incredible Kimmy Schmidt passing you on the street – and the 'hood is now dotted with quality restaurants, bars, cafes and boutiques, perfect for a weekend stroll. Tuesdays and Saturdays feature a large Farmer’s Market at nearby McCarren Park. From the house, it is a five minute walk to waterfront Transmitter Park which features the Brooklyn Barge (a floating bar/restaurant with skyline views).
The house is centrally located, one block from the Greenpoint G train, two blocks to the bus stop, and a ten-minute walk to the India Street Ferry, which offers scenic trips to the city and other parts of Brooklyn. Take a regular taxi or an UBER and be in manhattan in no time (depending on traffic and where you are going - 15 to 30 minutes.) They have just installed the public Citibikes at the end of our street and all around the area, so a day or week pass is a great way to see Brooklyn and venture over the bridge to Manhattan. Street parking is very easy in our neighborhood. Guests with cars have not had any trouble finding a spot.
