Interaction with guests
We will always be available to answer any questions during your stay and make suggestions about the neighborhood - but otherwise we leave it to you to have a great visit in Brooklyn!
The house is situated on a quiet, tree-lined block, but a stones throw from all that lively Greenpoint has to offer. This vibrant waterfront community was historically a Polish area and is still peppered with family-owned bakeries, florists, and meat markets. In recent years, there’s been an influx of film production in the neighborhood –on any given day you may see the cast of Girls, The Good Wife, or The Incredible Kimmy Schmidt passing you on the street – and the 'hood is now dotted with quality restaurants, bars, cafes and boutiques, perfect for a weekend stroll. Tuesdays and Saturdays feature a large Farmer’s Market at nearby McCarren Park. From the house, it is a five minute walk to waterfront Transmitter Park which features the Brooklyn Barge (a floating bar/restaurant with skyline views).
The house is centrally located, one block from the Greenpoint G train, two blocks to the bus stop, and a ten-minute walk to the India Street Ferry, which offers scenic trips to the city and other parts of Brooklyn. Take a regular taxi or an UBER and be in manhattan in no time (depending on traffic and where you are going - 15 to 30 minutes.) They have just installed the public Citibikes at the end of our street and all around the area, so a day or week pass is a great way to see Brooklyn and venture over the bridge to Manhattan. Street parking is very easy in our neighborhood. Guests with cars have not had any trouble finding a spot.

I was born in Santiago, Chile and my wife hails from Detroit, Michigan. We are both longtime residents of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. After working as a film editor for twenty years, I am now a clinical social worker in Greenpoint. My wife, a sculptor, has her studio in the nearby GMDC industrial building.

Clean, Crisp, Convenient
Loved this 1 Bed/1 Bath 2nd floor walk up apartment in the heart of Greenpoint. Kitchen was well stocked, linens were hotel quality, and the bath had a claw foot tub perfect for a soak. The location is close to all things Greenpoint, easy walking distance to great restaurants and groceries. Owner was super accommodating and helpful. Highly recommend.
Greenpoint is a great area of Brooklyn.
We loved the property and would definitely stay there again. The proximity to the East River and the view of Manhattan was great. I had hoped to be nearer a direct subway line rather than the local train, but Lyft worked well for accessing things as needed. We actually used Lyft sometimes to get to a subway station that would deposit us right where we needed to be. My only request would be that the dishes and silverware and their drawers be given a good cleaning. You can't beat the amount of space we had, especially compared to a hotel room in Manhattan. Plus Alan gave us some great leads on dining, which we followed up on.
Soooo comfy!! Conveniently, a few steps away from subway, shopping, etc. Just perfect. Thx Alan!!
Great home away from home feeling.
A wonderful place in Brooklyn
We absolutely love this home. Every time we come to New York, we stay here. The location is great; it is close to restaurants and shops. Alan is a wonderful host. We look forward to our next trip to New York and hopefully, the home will be available when we return.
Wonderful time at Green Point
We came to New York to visit with our family and had a wonderful time. The home is very comfortable and at a very convenience location. Everything is perfect. Alan is an excellent host. We appreciate his hospitality and hope to return in a near future.
