About Mike Paul
We grew up in Fremont, CA but have been living in the Lodi area for 40+ years. We went to school at Washington Union High School and San Jose Community College.
Mike Paul purchased this Cabin in 1970
Why Mike Paul chose Homewood
We grew up vacationing at Meeks Bay Resort at Lake Tahoe. When we decided to buy our own cabin, we bought a lot in Tahoe Swiss Village and spent our summer weekends with a couple of carpenter friends building this home.
What makes this Cabin unique
We chose this area to build a cabin because it had its own private Association beach and pier. We enjoy boating and this place lets us do that easily. There are buoys that are available to rent from the Association.

Great house, perfect location... Wonderful communication. Couldn't ask for a better stay. Well equipped. Bring soap/shampoo -- otherwise, turnkey.
Andrew, Thanks for staying with us. We look forward to hosting you in the future.
This is a charming place to stay with plenty of bedrooms. Communication with the manager is great and we will definitely be back!
Great spot for a family getaway!
This cabin was great for our family trip. Very quiet location while only a short walk from the lake and easy access to all the West Shore has to offer. Two rooms with bunk beds and the bathroom on the 2nd floor provided a great area for the kids to use and the deck is the perfect for place for relaxing at the start or end of the day. Mike provided clear directions from the start and was extremely responsive whenever we had a question. As others have noted, a larger dining option would be the only thing that could help but it's easy to make due (especially on the deck during warmer weather).
Clean, comfortable with everything you could need.
Perfect place for a perfect week!
We had a great time! No complaints at all, location was just off the road so it was quiet. Town was far enough that you didn’t hang there all day, but close enough to run to if you needed it. Cell service is really spotty, but didn’t bother us at all. My kids loved the bunk bed rooms, and ran around all day in the trees. We definitely want to come back in the winter!
Audrey, we are so glad your family had a great time.
We enjoyed our time at 1st Cabin very much. The kitchen, living room and bathrooms are nicely updated and its great to have the kids bedrooms (2 bunks, each with a trundle) upstairs. The HOA beach is great, though more crowded on the weekends. The beds were comfortable. The homeowner is very nice, accommodating and easy to work with. As a frequent VRBO renter, I really appreciate this. The only thing we would like is a bigger table and sturdier chairs for eating dinner all together outside. The 5 seats at the Bar is totally fine for breakfast, but since we have 4 kids, and had another family of 4 with us this week, we had to eat in shifts. We cook rather than go out to dinner, and the table outside seats 4-5 comfortably, 6 at a stretch. The deck is large and new and could fit a big table, though where it would go in the winter, I don't know ;) Thanks Mike!
We certainly appreciate the good word as well as the suggestion for the table outside.
There was some timber left over from the new deck and we fully had plans to make it into a large picnic table, but your observation on what to do with it during winter had us baffled. So we’re still trying to come up with a suitable solution. A table sturdy enough to let snow build up on it versus the ability to move it around without damaging the deck is the goal. Hopefully have that figured out by next summer. I thought the addition of the kitchenette outside would work, alas the weather took its toll rather quickly..
Private Association beach and pier. Buoys available to rent.
