Open up the windows and you can literally sunbathe in the south facing lounge! The ever changing scenery is magnificent, no matter what the weather there is plenty of natural entertainment. Remember to bring your binoculars, you might be lucky enough to spot the dolphins! 2 of the 3 bedrooms have also got fabulous sea views.
You can even watch the festive fireworks in Edinburgh from the house!

This home from home is very comfortable, well equipped and a sheer joy to live in. It is spacious, bright & airy and has lots of homely touches.
No Smoking allowed within the home. Vehicles are able to park at the front of the property with no time restrictions and entirely at the owner's risk.
I had many happy years growing up by the sea in Pittenweem and very much wish we could spend more time there. Every time we visit we always say we must come back more often! My parents owned what used to be known as The VG licensed Grocers in the Market Place. I now live in Falkirk with my Husband Ross and two young children Ruari (7) & Alana (5). My Husband is a Funeral Director & I run a Beauty Salon from home, specialising in skin care treatments.

We went to Pittenweem for the first time in years to spend a day by the sea. We had no intentions of buying a property! As we passed the house for sale on our way to the harbour I mentioned how great it would be to have a house there! We all had an absolutely wonderful day, so much so that we decided to visit the Estate agents just to torture ourselves by looking at what we couldn't have! Well, the rest is history, we were at the right place at the right time and thankfully we managed to buy Tigh Na Mara! The house has had extensive work done and I think we have managed to create a very comfortable home from home enviroment.
Even though the house was extremely old fashioned and needed amounst other things a gas supply put in, lead pipes changed and walls knocked down. It had that wonderful comfortable homely feeling! Even being traumatised by the amount of work required, we just had to have it! The views are absolutely amazing and they are for ever changing. They can be enjoyed all year round, no matter what the weather. You can open up those doors and listen to the sounds of the sea while being sheltered from the wind. The house is also ideally situated, having a young family it is very important to us that the highlights of the coast are all within walking distance and we can visit other attractions with in a short drive.

After we left Scotland we spent a week in France ...getting back to work is my poor excuse for not letting you know sooner how much we enjoyed staying at your property. We had a wonderful time!
The weather was stormy when we arrived; however, this only added to the breath taking view of the Sea.
I can't say enough about your hospitality. The apartment was comfortable, spacious, immaculate and beautifully appointed.. The special touches with Christmas tree and delicious chocolates made us feel very special. Your thoughtfulness was appreciated.
We hope you are feeling better. And thank you again, for being so accessible when we arrived without our entry instructions. You saved the day!!! My husband and two young adult children were not too pleased that I mistakenly brought incomplete instructions.
We loved our stay in Tigh Na Mara (upper). Even though we had looked at the photographs of the flat online, we were not prepared for that wonderful view from the kitchen / sitting area. We also loved the wonderful sea view from the master bedroom. The flat is clean, spacious, bright and comfortable. It provided a very convenient base for walking the Fife coastal route. We were all genuinely sorry to leave.
We enjoyed a wonderful Scotland holiday with Tigh Na Mara as our home base. The house was very comfortable and the view, as promised, was beautiful. My only complaint is that we didn't plan to stay longer! Thank you, Diane.
The apartment is an amazing holiday home, perfect for total relaxation or an active coastal break. It is very well equipped with all mod cons, and is clean, bright, airy and spacious. The showers were especially good. The location is great for visiting the quaint Fife coastal towns, and of course St Andrews, and great for golfers too (my husband enjoyed the Anstruther course). I spoke to Diane a few times before our trip and she was lovely and very helpful. My only slightly negative comment would be about the front of the property which we felt looked a bit neglected - a total contrast to the interior. But nothing that a lick of paint and new front door fittings wouldn't sort. Apart from that there's nothing but positives. Would highly recommend this apartment. The Larachmhor Tavern was great for drinks and meals (sit in or take away- Indian menu too) - the owners very friendly. The Cocoa Tree chocolate shop and cafe was another great wee place. All in all we had a great long weekend here. Thanks Diane (sorry we forgot to write an entry in your guest book).

Relaxation was our aim and this rental property lived up to our expectations. Fabulous seaviews and amazing sunsets and sunrises. Enjoyed watching the Fishing Boats returning home in the evening. Very comfortable accommodation especially the surprising recliner chair!!!! Could have sat there all day:) Every area of the house was fresh and clean. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathrooms. Diane was very approachable, friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this property to everyone. Simply a beautiful place to spend time. How can one avoid praising this appartment too much? - Well, I shan't try.
We arrived for a short holiday over New Year's Eve to find a spacious appartment with a breathtaking view of the Firth. Especially the cosy living room invited to spend days on end with a good book and a hot pot of tea enjoying the sea (even more so, when stormy). Fortunately, the weather was so good that we could go for walks and short excursions to the neighbourhood along the coast. This was perfect, too. We enjoyed the surroundings as well as the flat itself, which has been decorated and equipped with much love and a keen eye to detail. I do not take it to be 'a matter of course' to find a kitchen fully equipped and in perfect working condition. So, thanks for this as well, we certaily appreciated not having to bother what the kitchen might allow when shopping for groceries.
Diane is a great host and very prompt in replying to email. In short: We couldn't have had a better time or found a better place for our New Year's hideout. We definitely recommend renting this appartment to anyone who wants to find some quiet at the Scottish coast.
Pittenweem is a small fishing village with a working historic harbour, which you can view from Tigh Na Mara. The 'HOME OF GOLF' St Andrews is only 15mins drive. Other world class courses near by; are Elie, Crail and Kingsbarns. There are many art galleries, welcoming pubs, bistros, tennis and magnificent views and coastal walks around the East Neuk! The famous Arts Festival is held every August in which you can peruse national art, crafts and have a wander around traditional local homes. Pittenweem is a wonderful location from which you can explore the Eastneuk of Fife by car bicycle or on foot, whatever the time of year.The National trust for Scotland has a number of historic castles, buildings & gardens too visit.Two award winning sea food restaurants are within a 5 min drive.
