What makes this Apartment unique
How do I know this is not a scam? Sadly, scammers are now targeting listing sites by gaining access to the email accounts or adverts of owners and therefore intercepting messages and payments. The listing sites do little or nothing to combat the problem. How can you avoid being a victim? Most owners will have a varied web presence and can be found elsewhere with a little homework. A scammer will have none. For example, you can find me on Linkedin, Xing, Facebook, my own websites, the LHM rental forum and other adverts. You’ll even find me listed in the phonebook. Ask for more proof of ownership, eg. Photos of work done on the property or photos of the guestbook testimonials. Such requests will scare off most scammers. They want easy targets so don’t let them target YOU!

Perfect location, home from home
Comfortable apartment, in a perfect location for access to the village and to the ski slopes. Beds were very comfortable. Would certainly stay here again.
Impressive and delightful!
What a wonderful, good value apartment. It couldn't be better and has all facilities, and more, is located ideally for the village. We are a family of four and had a super time here, and will definitely book this apartment again. Thanks!
As described comfortable good location
We had a lovely week in the apartment which was warm comfortable and well equipped. It’s in a great location for town and the ski lifts. Excellent
Skiing the Grand Massif
Skiing the Grand Massif
Our goal for the vacation was to get as much skiing as possible. The apartment played an important role in that goal. The location was excellent for a number of reasons; access to the Blue ski bus for Grand Massif Telecabin – Pont de Clevieux stop 4 minutes walk or the Cinema stop 5 minutes walk. Also access to White ski bus for Morrillon Telecabin - Cinema stop 5 minutes walk. Access to the Sherpa supermarket – 5 minutes walk. Access to town for shops restaurants etc – 7-10 minutes walk. Access to ski hire – 5 minutes walk to Chalet Giffre.
The apartment is clearly a family home and well-appointed with everything your need. The kitchen is simple but functional, well equipped with the necessary tools. The surprise was no conventional oven but a combi; microwave, grill & oven. But instructions allowed us to quickly adapt and we had excellent meals. Although we were five adults only having one bathroom and one toilet, usage was never an issue. Never without hot water. Lounge and dining area served the purpose adequately. Even used the balconies. The main bedroom was good, the second bedroom is compact for two adults. The last adult slept on the sofa bed in lounge.
Couple of areas where the experience could be improved:
Apartment Information Pack . I know there were links in emails, info laminates in the apartment and a pile of brochures, but having all the key info in one place would enhance the overall experience. It could contain;
The info laminates
Details of supermarkets
Ski Hire Shops
How to access the ski locker – need two keys
Restaurants / bars
Ski bus timetables
The feedback on the sofa bed was; uncomfortable. Used mattress on floor rather than sofa bed frame.
Having said that the experience was still 5 star. Would return.
This was our third stay in Samoens and we enjoyed another amazing week. The apartment was clean upon arrival and the directions/instructions for accessing the apartment were very clear. The kitchen was well stocked with basics and we just topped up anything that we used like porridge/washing powder/loo roll etc. The ski hire at Xtreme Glisses was just so easy with simple parking at the bottom of the ski lifts (or a 10 minute walk away) and hardly any queuing at all. The village of Samoens is so pretty and, with the apartment being only two minutes walk away from the central square, it meant that early morning trips to the boulangerie were an easy trip.
Nice Apartment in great location for skiing
We stayed in this apartment over the Christmas week and found it very nice with good facilities. It is in an apartment block with good access to town centre and more importantly if you are there in winter the skiing. Their is a ski hire shop 50 metres away with the lifts another 100 metres away. This makes it really easy every day to go to and from slopes with minimum fuss. You can leave your hire equipment in shop to dry out overnight. Town centre is very close with good shopping and selection of restaurants to choose from. We would certainly consider both this apartment and Samoens for another winter holiday.
While we greatly appreciate any positive review, it would be misleading to say that the lifts are 150m from the apartment when they are in fact at the edge of the village about 800m away. Like most people who stay in Samoens, one would normally take the free shuttle bus to access the lifts.
Ski: The Grand Massif is one of France's biggest ski area and has 265km of pistes, offering a variety of terrain for all levels, reliable snow cover and lack of queues. The ski season runs from mid-December until the end of April. Samoëns was formerly linked to the circuit a few miles from the village so a ski bus trip was needed to reach the slopes, but now a gondola, the Grand Massif Express, lifts skiers from the village centre up to a key plateau on the circuit, at 1600m, in just eight minutes.
Besides the huge ski area, the Grand Massif has many additional attractions such as wonderful children's snow gardens, a variety of slopes for beginners and experts alike, jamparks and superb panoramic views at Tete des Saix, Les Grands Vans, Les Grandes Platieres, Les Dents Blanche, Les Aravis, the Jura Range and of course the magnificent Mont Blanc.
