About Jerry Reed

Jerry and Sondra had always dreamed of having property on the Little Red River and July 2016 that dream came true. They found this beautiful cozy cabin in need lots of TLC which they had plenty of to give. Residents of Heber Springs, AR, Jerry is a local pharmacist and Sondra is a physical therapist assistant working at a nursing home in Heber Springs. Jerry proposed to Sondra on the Little Red River which started their first adventure. Now they are excited to start another adventure being owners of "The Cabin at Wildflower". They hope you fall in love with their cabin as much as they have.

Jerry Reed purchased this cabin in 2016

Why Jerry Reed chose Heber Springs

Located in a beautiful private subdivision, its off the grid and secluded. Take sight seeing walks or the bikes and start your adventure down to the beautiful 20 acre lake in which there is a 2 man boat awaiting for you to catch some bass, catfish or crappie or just watch the geese swim in the lake. This property is private and peaceful. The cabin has 202 feet of river front with your own private boat dock that provides gorgeous views of the Libby bluffs. Boat dock has a sink to assist with cleaning your catch of the day. Provided at the dock is a fish cleaning kit, cutting board, binoculars, paper towels etc.

What makes this cabin unique

When Jerry and I decided to rent our cabin out through Home-away we wanted it to be a complete package filled with all the activities you expect without the added charges. So that's why if you rent our cabin you get a free 3 man old town canoe, 2 kayaks, 4 bikes, bag go, fire pit, horseshoe pit, vintage croquet, fishing poles, hammock, outdoor tables with umbrellas, gliders, rocking chairs, the green egg grill, a new Kenmore gas grill etc and that's just outside the cabin. Lets talk inside the cabin.... Who loves coffee? We do!!!! We have a Keurig 2.0 with a variety of K cups provided, plus a Saeco espresso machine and a Krupps coffee maker. (coffee provided) My favorite coffee is the Three Peckered Billy Goat coffee!!!! After waking up from a good nights sleep on awesome sheets and having your morning coffee... whats next? Hum that's for you to decide. Options are endless at The Cabin at Wildflower. With free WIFI, Smart 55" HDTV, Directv, DVD library, CD collection for Bose surround sound, a variety of books and tons of games. Its up to you!!! Have fun and enjoy!

Perfect Cabin Get-a-way on Little Red River!

  • 5 of 5

This Cabin was indeed amazing! Every detail was thought of, making your stay a true vacation. From the scent of evergreen & rosemary welcoming you as you enter the cabin, and a whimsical vase of fresh cut wildflowers, to the beautiful decor & welcoming out door spaces, I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a better atmosphere & environment! You have all that you need here & even more. Well appointed kitchen, grill & patio overlooking the river, a private dock to fish from, to the use of their canoe, kayaks & bikes...Every detail was thought of, even life jackets & fishing gear. Honestly, one of my favorite places to date, that I have stayed. Owners Sondra & Jerry could not have been any more welcoming & accomadating! Perfect place to stay! Brenna V.

The owners thought of every detail to make our stay relaxing and family-centered. Beds are comfortable, kayaks are fun for floating and fishing - we wouldn’t have changed a thing. Very clean and stocked with everything we could have possibly needed and then some. Thank you Jerry and Sondra for a wonderful stay!

They thought of everything! The only thing you need to bring with you is food and drinks. Everything you need for enjoying the river and the cabin are already there. All of the outdoor accessories are well organized. This place would be a great escape for a single person and was fantastic for our family of four! We'll definitely be back!

Heber Springs, founded as a health resort and first called Sugar Loaf in the mid-19th century, now serves as a gateway to Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River. U.S. Corps of Engineers completed the 31,500-acre lake in 1963 and President John F. Kennedy came to Heber Springs in October of that year for the dedication. The historic downtown district includes a stately county courthouse with traditional square, a museum, antique shops, Art galleries, restored theater now called the Gem theater which shows new release movies and Spring Park, with its mineral springs that attracted the original settlers. Greers Ferry Lake is known for great fishing and water recreation. Below the massive Corps of Engineers Dam, the Little Red River is internationally known as the home of the world-record (40-pound, 4-ounce) brown trout. The lake and river have served as national models for environmental cleanliness and a staple for Arkansas beauty. Visit our local shops, Climb Sugar Loaf Mountain, try our parks and trails and our quaint coffee shops and restaurants. Just minutes from The Cabin at Wildflower, downtown Heber Springs has lots to offer.

More about Lake life.....Heber Springs is famous for being an epicenter for the Greers Ferry Lake in the beautiful Qzark Mountains of north-central Arkansas. Greers Ferry Lake is known for it's deep, clean and relaxing waters. Various types of boats and watercraft can be rented from multiple marinas. Enjoy the sun and volleyball at Sandy Beach and end your day by watching the sail boats float past the beautiful sunset. There are multiple picnic areas around the lake that are water front and provide gorgeous views. Greers Ferry Lake is an outdoor enthusiasts' dream with boating, sailing, water skiing, swimming, scuba diving and fishing opportunities. Hikers enjoy the area's three National Nature trails and one multi-purpose fitness trail. With over 30,000 acres of water surface, the lake is your playground.

If you need to take a break from the lake and river you can enjoy the numerous art galleries that Heber Springs has to offer. Try a Art class at Ellen Hobgood Gallery for a wonderful souvenir and browse our other local shops for canvas art, handmade jewelry, housewares, pottery, etc. Our local shops also provide designer clothing, handbags, childrens clothing and toys, candy and treats. End your evening at our local vintage style theater (Gem Movie Theatre)*** free popcorn and drink on Tuesday. This theater may look vintage but provides awesome seats and 3-D HD movies.

On your way back to the cabin for a good nights rest think about planning the next days excursions. You still have rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking or disc golf and regular golf available. Sugar Loaf Mountain provides both hiking and small rock climbing experiences. For more hiking, try Mossy Bluff Buckeye Trail, Bridal Veil Falls and Hidden Pond Trail. One of our favorites is Collins Creek. Located at the John F. Kennedy Park near the Greers Ferry Fish Hatchery. Don't forget your camera. Its a beautiful place for pictures.

Want to try disc golf? Heber Springs has a new free disc golf course. The cabin provides 2 sets of discs. You want real golf......? We have it!!!!!! 4 courses to choose from and all within 30 minutes from the cabin. Closest is Riverland Country Club being just minutes from the cabin. Its a 9 hole course with a rating of 35.5 and a slope rating of 113. Next is the Thunderbird Country Club and it is a 9 hole course with beautiful views and a relaxed atmosphere. Book your tee time online @ Third closest to cabin would be the beautiful Red apple Inn and Country Club. This course is 18 holes and is situated on a peninsula surrounded by our beautiful Greers Ferry Lake. Noted by Golf Digest as one of the 50 most scenic courses in the country. Don't leave Heber Springs before visiting the William Carl Garner Visitor Center. Here you will find great exhibits and a 20 minute slide program "The Saga of the Little Red: A Tale of Two Centuries" and a replica of the former world record brown trout. On Saturdays from Memorial Day to Labor Day an assortment of free programs is offered at the Visitor Center. Most programs are in the evening at 7:00 pm and range from folk concerts to Native American Dancers.

There is always something fun to do in Heber Springs, AR especially during the Spring and Summer months. A few of our favorites is Spring fest, July 4th fireworks celebration at Sandy beach and the World Championship Cardboard Boat Races.
