About Carol Heth
I have lived in this area all of my life and have grown to appreciate the little piece of paradise that we call home.
Carol Heth purchased this Cottage in 1983
Why Carol Heth chose Columbia
Growing up down the road and having my Grandparents next door has been a great life experience. The area had always been very family oriented with my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins next door. There are still families that have been here for their lifetime.

Gracious hosts/lovely cottage
We had a wonderful time in this relaxing, charming little cottage in a pretty setting! Pete and Carol could not be nicer!
Amazing and Adorable Honeymoon Retreat!
We spent 5 nights at The Bird House to enjoy rest, peace and quiet for our honeymoon. This house delivered all of that and so much more! From the personal touches - a note, roses, to-die-for-still-warm-homemade scones, fresh eggs - to the superior craftsmanship this property exceeded all of our expectations! The hosts - Pete and Carol - were friendly and very helpful if we had questions. I'm so happy the experience was so positive -- that way we can repeat our visit for future anniversaries!
This place is so beautifully decorated and so peaceful. The courtyard with the fireplace makes you feel like you are in an Italian villa. We also had delicious blueberry scones and roses waiting for us as well as farm fresh eggs upon our arrival. Our dog was welcomed with her own treats, water bowl and food dish. The hostess was so friendly. We highly recommend this home. It is also very clean and well equipped. You will not regret booking this home.
My husband and I visited for a 4 day 3 night stay. We found the Birdhouse just right for us and our little Maltese Winston. Pete and Carol greeted us when we got settled in the cottage. Everything you needed was there. Lovely touches like fresh roses on the table to enjoy. The grounds of the property are gorgeous and you have the chickens, cattle, and donkeys to greet you. The location is very convienent and a short car ride to all the Lancaster county attractions. Be sure to check out the Birdhouse! We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our stay. The rental is small but tastefully finished. Conveniently located in Lancaster area.
Best in Class !!
The Birdhouse is best in class when it comes to the secluded getaway. The experience of our stay was beyond our expectations. Celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, Carol and Pete welcomed us with such hospitality that no "fancy" hotel could compete. Thank you both for sharing this slice of heaven. Sincere Gratitude - Susan and Tony
