Camp Serenity combines early architectural features with modern amenities. The enclosed sun room and all three queen bedrooms look out over the water. The queen bedroom on the first floor has a wheelchair accessible ramp with a direct entrance. The bath within this bedroom has a handicap accessible shower with zero entry. There are wood floors throughout. There are 4 bedrooms on the second floor as well as a large second floor landing. A twin bed and sleeper sofa on the landing make the sleeping capacity 13.
The 150 feet of terraced waterfront includes a generous area for outdoor seating. Swimming and fishing are both available from the dock. Located on a double sized lot, Camp Serenity has a spacious level side yard.

Camp Serenity is owned by Jennifer Boudreau and her husband Louis Herman. We purchased this property in 2012, added a new addition and upgraded the entire property. Coming in May 2017 will be a new, renovated kitchen.

A beautiful cottage with everything you need for a group of up to 13 with ample off road parking. Just bring yourselves and your refreshments. The weather did not cooperate so we could not use the outdoor tables and fire pit. We were still very comfortable cooking, dining and hanging out inside. Plenty of space, seating options and bathrooms. The cable TV ( Ryder Cup weekend) and Wi-Fi were also excellent. Once the rain stopped the lake was great for kayaking. The kitchen functioned very well for our large group. The planned remodeled kitchen will make it even better. The owners are very nice and accommodating. We hope to be back in a few years!

Camp Serenity was perfect for our weekend. Easy to get to, plenty of sleeping arrangements, well-stocked kitchen, and a marvelous view! Couldn't have asked for anything better!

Nice size property, good location, and loved the outdoor area. Easy access to lake, nice side yard, and worked well for the families staying there. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lakefront property in the Cooperstown area.
I would definitely go back to Camp Serenity. There were 10 of us for a family reunion and the house was just right. It was all adults so we needed a couple of extra single beds, but I'd brought an air mattress and one insomniac slept on the sunporch. Although i didn't know it when I made the reservation, we needed the handicapped accessible room for my sister-in-law's mother.
We loved the deck especially first thing in the morning. It faces west so if you aren't a sun worshipper it is hot in the late afternoon.
Some of the family went to the place at the end of the lake to rent paddleboards and kyaks and paddled down to the house. Only one or two went swimming, the water is cold. The dock has a ladder to get in and out of the water - there is no beach.
Because we grew up in the area we didn't do any sight-seeing and were able to avoid the crush of baseball people on Rte. 28. We took the back road to Glimmerglass State Park for the reunion. It's a great park - 45 minutes away. $7 per car. Has a sand beach. However, I do recommend the museum at Fenimore House and its always a treat to go on the veranda at the Otesaga Hotel - its free to just look!
Price Chopper and Rite Aid are just a couple of miles from the house and just past those is Brooks Barbeque, a very well known local place that is always busy. We got take out - order well ahead - for our Friday night dinner since people we arriving at different times. And my family always go home with bottles of sauce. Just beyond Brooks is a farm market. It looks like a nursery but has lots of local produce, some organic, and some bakery items and other essentials.
If you are into antiquing go into and through Oneonta, or the other direction, towards Stamford, you'll find less expensive things than in Cooperstown.
The house is very well maintained, lots of towels, including beach towels, extra blankets and sheets. We never used the air conditioning - it was cool and we had the windows open the entire time, closing the blinds in the afternoon to keep the sun out. Even on the two rainy days, the house was fun - room for people to get away or to hang out together.
Cooking area is small but it is an eat in kitchen and at least half of us were always in the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a blender and crockpot. The only thing we didn't find was a vegetable peeler. We used the propane grill one night.
Bug spray is a must! After all, it is right on the water.
We rented this lovely spot for my daughters graduation from SUNY Oneonta (about a. 20 min drive). We decided on a house instead of hotel because my other daughter has special needs and is fearful of hotels. I was able to show her pictures on line to get her familiar with the house before we arrived. She picked the couch in the livingroom as her safe place, and enjoyed her stay 😀Which in turn made life good for all of us! The owners were a pleasure to work with... All my questions were answered promptly. Views of the lake from bedrooms were spectacular, we were 10 people and were very comfortable. Property was clean and well maintained. We bbq and purchased meat from Larrys meat shop in Hartwick, Delish!
We all agreed this would be the place to meet again for a family get together, hope to return soon and enjoy lake activities!

In season (summer, Friday-Friday schedule) check out time is 9 AM on Friday morning. Check in time off season is 4 PM. The off season check out time is 12 PM.
