Stunning Architectural Gem Set In The Magical Catskills

This masterpiece of minimalist modern architecture is a 21st century blend of “Mies Van Der Rohe”, “Less is more” and contemporary “green” “passive solar” state of the art construction techniques. It is truly a masterful blend of “Art & Architecture”, “Shape & Structure”. Urbane style in a magical country setting!

Nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Plateau at the base of Platte Clove it is an oasis of peace and beauty a short one hour and 45 minutes from Times Square!!!!! Convenient to skiing and Snowboarding at Hunter, Windham, and Bellayre mountains.

Situated on 5+ private acres. This 3 bedroom 2 ½ bath 1800 sq. ft. Luxurious custom cedar home is located on Saugerties Woodstock Rd equidistant between Woodstock and Saugerties. Locally we affectionately call it Saugerstock! Both towns boast beautiful village centers and fantastic boutique and antique shopping. True year round vacation destinations.

Convenient to “HITS” “Horseshows in the Sun” Olympic equestrian center.

The Living Room features floor to ceiling windows offering up spectacular, pristine views of the surrounding forest. Each bedroom is beautifully appointed. The Master Suite includes an en suite bathroom with a four person Sauna and large shower.

Venetian plaster walls soar in the great room which comes equipped with a high efficiency woodstove/fireplace and projection TV. Gourmet stainless steel and concrete kitchen. Projection TV , CD . HIGHSPEED - WIFI. Country Clubs, Tennis courts, and major championship golf courses within minutes. Lakes, rivers, swimming, hiking, mountain biking (and rentals), inner tubing, water parks, paint ball and fine dining. Skiing and Snowmobiling in the winter. Amazing mountain views. World class trout fishing minutes away.

DIA the largest modern art display space in the world just a short 40 min. ride away. Visit the homes of famed “Hudson River School” painters; Thomas Cole and Frederick Church whose famous home Olana sits nearby overlooking the majestic Hudson River. Visit Saugerties famous lighthouse.

I have been visiting the area for 40+ years and have lived here for 12. The house comes equipped with a comprehensive local area guide and I am always available to answer your questions and help you in any way necessary to ensure you have a fantastic stay. You can see the reviews for the other home I manage on HomeAway at 347733 and I assure you we look forward to a future of fantastic reviews here.

Exquisite Modern Architectural Treehouse

This house embodies pure serenity--its quiet elegance and grace combined with the beautiful, contemplative setting makes this a perfect getaway. It felt like a magical perch where wonders and possibilities could be revealed. Secluded and adjacent to a hiking trail yet minutes away from lovely shops, art galleries and restaurants. Looking forward to my next trip!

Live in New York City

An architectural treasure inside and out.

  • 5 of 5

The entire time I felt I was living in the pages of Architectural Digest. The property is not only beautiful but inspires tranquility with its simple elegance. A wonderful meditative space for reading, yoga and quiet contemplation. Surrounded by woods for hiking and near wonderful shops, restaurants and art galleries.

Amazing Stay! Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

The house was spotless. Coming from Manhattan, it felt great to leave the city behind and really feel one with nature. The house's architecture is amazing, filled with natural light. The property has beautiful landscapes from the balcony and trails. Dan was very accommodating to all of our needs and questions.

The town is just a couple of minutes away, very nice community and restaurants. We had dinner at the Red Onion and it was delicious! I would also recommend getting a massage at the nearby spa!

Overall, I would highly recommend! I will be sure to stay here again.

It’s easy to see why artists have been drawn to Saugerties for generations. This former mill town’s enviable geographic position, nestled in the Catskill Mountains and perched on the Hudson River, is inspirational. The eclectic mix of shops and restaurants combine quaint with a soupçon of chic. Stroll the bluestone slab sidewalks and you’ll quickly understand why Budget Travel named it one of America’s coolest small towns. Urban dwellers in need of an infusion of fresh air have come to the right place. Cycle, hike or enjoy the river on a kayak or sailboat.

The area’s deep-rooted agricultural heritage has meshed with kitchen savvy to make Saugerties a stomping ground for culinary geeks. If that’s not enough to entice you, Jimmy Fallon was raised here and locals couldn’t be prouder or more pleased to chat about their hometown boy. It’s all just two hours from NYC, close enough for a day trip, but with so much to do you’ll want to stay the night.

The In-Town Experience

Getting a feel for Saugerties means exploring Main and Partition streets. Its mix of highbrow/lowbrow shops and eateries are the big draw. Marky Marks Tattoo is respected for its innovative ink and precise piercings. The Modern Dream sells crafts and fiber arts, all handmade by local artisans. Green presents an array of recycled or sustainable furniture and housewares, a design and eco-conscious apartment dweller’s dream. Inquiring Minds Bookstore has a varied collection, including many Hudson Valley art and history books. Antique shops, thrift stores and art studios further cram the shopping palette. Time your visit right and you’ll be treated to Saugerties’ First Fridays. Stores, galleries and eateries stay open late, with special bargains and yummy refreshments.
