About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Our other condo is #17603 on VRBO.

This condo is comfy and cozy and fully equipped with everything you'll need. It's a corner unit on the first floor, ski slope side of building one in Giant Steps. We can accommodate 8 people with a King-size bed in the master, a queen bed & twin bunks in the 2nd bedroom and full sleeper sofa in living room, and have flat screen TVs in every room. We bought it in 2012 and totally remodeled with new flooring and an all new kitchen.

Giant Steps Condos has a great game room, 2 spas, an underground parking garage, and dumbwaiters in all three buildings, not to mention we are next to the main lift and new tubing park. There is a free shuttle that takes you all around the mountain.

Whether summer or winter, Brian Head, Utah has it all. In the winter this small mountain town has great powder skiing, a snowboard park, snowmobiling, and a tubing park.

Summertime in Brian Head provides great nature hikes and mountain biking trails with some of the most magnificent overlooks nature can provide. Brian Head has it's own, pond, the 'Bristlecone pond' stocked with trout, and surrounded by a walking trail and picnic pads.

Southern Utah is dubbed color country for its beautiful national parks. The Shakespearean Festival takes place all summer just 30 minutes away in Cedar City.

For sightseeing Zion National Park is about 69 miles away & Bryce Canyon is about 58 miles.

**Please note: The Resort is no longer selling the Freedom Passes, therefore we can't purchase them to offer to our renters.

Great location

  • 4 of 5

We have never been away from home for Christmas and this was a great way to start a new tradition. The condo was in the perfect location next to the slopes and we had a beautiful white Christmas. The condo had everything we needed and was stocked beyond my expectations. Being a real estate agent and dealing in a lot of short term rentals I was impressed by the supplies that were available. My only complaint (I hate to even complain) was the beds. I'm not sure if it was the mattress or the pillows but I had a kinked neck and back. I would suggest changing the pillows to see if that helps. Also, when cooking be aware of the altitude because it affects cooking times.

This was by far our best Christmas ever and we will definitely be back.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much, we're glad you enjoyed it. I assume you're referring to the king size pillows in the master, but will check with you to make sure. I know we bought all new standard pillows from Costco last year but don't recall if we got new ones for the master or not, will check it out.

Shoulder Season Special

  • 4 of 5

We stayed there during the second week of September, in the shoulder season after school begins and before the ski season. We had the building almost to ourselves. The entire Brian Head resort area couldn't have been more quiet and peaceful. The evenings were cool, and the aspen and oak had begun their fall color changes, which were beautiful. In another week or two it will be spectacular!

We were there for the Bryce Canyon/Cedar Breaks/Zion tour. The Brian Head resort location is almost central to all of those areas, which was perfect for travel. If you haven't seen these National Park areas, you really need to go. It's unbelievable, and pictures can't do it justice. Be sure to take the time to drive into Kolob Canyon with an afternoon sun location. It doesn't get nearly the attention it should. The crowds in Zion and Bryce were large but manageable. (Apparently the summer crowds can be suffocating!). Just don't try to do your sightseeing in a hurry. And we strongly recommend using the shuttle systems, instead of trying to find parking at the various viewing areas.

Brian Head is remote (which we thoroughly enjoyed), and shopping or dining out is very limited. We were aware of this, and came prepared for eating in. For us, it was perfect.

The Giant Step condo building at Brian Head has some years on it, and the overall maintenance is only average. And we had the feeling it could get a little noisy during periods of high occupancy. However this individual condo unit has been upgraded by the owner, is well maintained, and is very comfortable and well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace, and they provide all the wood you can burn. Everything in the kitchen worked, and it was very clean when we arrived. The only negative for us was the guest bathroom, which has the sink-and-mirror area adjacent and open to the kitchen. This isn't evident from the VRBO description. You must walk through it to get to the master bedroom. We were two adult couples staying together, making the privacy for the guest bedroom couple difficult to maintain.

We didn't use the hot tub or recreational common-use facilities because of time limitations, so can offer no comments on them.

We would definitely stay there again, although we can't comment on a high-traffic period use. But for our purposes it was great. And compared to the cost of two couples staying in a nice hotel/motel, it was significantly less expensive.

Beautiful Condo - Enjoyable Stay

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed here during a "boys" trip to the area for R&R. I couldn't have asked for any better. The place was very comfortable - so clean. Everything was stocked very well. I didn't have a want or need for anything extra. Everything in the condo was in working order which made our stay just "very comfortable." The condo is located in a very convenient location - first floor. We were able to unload our vehicle without a lot of bother. Our stay must have been during a very quiet time in Brian Head - I didn't hear one single noise from other surrounding condos, as well as outside. We were able to enjoy other activities offered by the condo - hot tub, game room, fire pits, etc. I truly enjoyed just being able to walk around the property and enjoy the "cool" the mountains have to offer. I enjoyed myself so much, I plan on taking my wife and daughters back for a future stay.

Honored as a 'Top Family Getaway for Family Travelers' by the Family Travel Forum, Brian Head is a full-service resort conveniently located in southern Utah - only three hours from Las Vegas!

It features four terrain parks for varying ability levels, with more than 30 snow features, rails, fun boxes, and a half pipe (open when conditions permit).
