I was attracted to this home even before it was put on the market. When I bought it, it was in really bad condition. I gutted the whole inside and everything in it is brand new. Very comfortable and spacious home.
It was originally built as a church in 1945 and sometime in the 1980's the church sold it and it was turned into a home.
Excellent place to stay for a visit to downtown Homosassa. The home was pristine and clean. We walked to several wonderful restaurants and saw a great Christmas Boat Parade at the docks too. The kids love the old church house and all in all we had a wonderful stay. Thanks!
Great house, Judy was really easy to work with. Really nice stay.
Had a wonderful time with my family and friends. Can't wait to stay there again next year.
Our women's circle group from our church had their annual retreat at the Church House this weekend and it was wonderful. There were eight of us and we could have not asked for a better place to have our retreat. It is roomy and plenty of areas to read, watch TV or just take a nap. The linens were provided for us along with everything we needed to prepare our meals for the weekend. The Church house is close to stores for groceries, restaurants and also Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. Working with the owner of the Church house was so easy. Our group has already making plans to rent the Church House this same time next year. Thanks Judy Biston for such a wonderful place to get away.
My sister visited from Salem, OR. We wanted to show her “real Florida”. Relatives of 4 generations came from Miami, Panama City and Gainesville. We stayed in the Church House, fixed fresh fish from Shellys, paddled on the Weeki Wachee, swam at Rogers Park and Buccaneer, saw a mermaid show, visited Florida birds and animals at Homossassa Springs State Park. We felt immediately at home. My husband was particularly impressed by the workmanship of renovations. The children found plenty to entertain themselves with games, puzzles and videos. Those who were up early played in the comfortable breezeway without awakening others. Enjoyed walking to and shopping from artsy shops in the neighborhood. It was a perfect place for a wonderful multigenerational gathering. I enjoyed reading Judith's compilation of history of the area. Judith was a gracious hostess and accessible by phone.
This home is walking distance to several local restaurants, bars and a fresh seafood market if you prefer to cook. It is not located on the water but is 3 blocks from public boat ramp. You can also rent boats, canoes and kayaks 3 blocks away. You can drive to Crystal River, 7 miles, and visit Indian mounds, small mall and several other restaurants.
