Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday home in Los Angeles

Clint Walker and Roger Miller also lived here!

Welcome to the Penfield mansion.

Once the home of Frank Sinatra, Clint Walker and then Roger Miller in the 1970s who raised his whole family here, this house is amazing with exceptional history that can be felt in every room! The hit song, King Of The Road was actually written by Roger Miller at the bar! We strive to provide a comfortable, safe and professional environment. The property sits on the top of a hill, all by itself on over an acre of land with 360-degree views of the whole city and is completely gated and secure. You have total privacy from all angles. There are no neighbors able to see the land or the house. Take a tour and see for yourself! High speed internet and cable TV included free of charge. The house also has a built in JBL sound system for radio, CDs, Ipod, MP3 players etc. Parking for 20 cars on premises.

See pictures for complete details on the house layout. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. The house is at the very end of a culdesac, children can ride bikes in the street, its very safe. There are tons of fabulous restaurants in the area including Roys, Flemings, Ruth Chris, Benihana etc. all within 5 minutes.

All 4 beds have the highest quality Egyptian cotton'Royal Velvet' fabulous down alternative comforters, very high count Egyptian cotton sheets and pillow cases, down alternative pillows and also firmer pillows to suite your taste. White bathroom towels, and large beach towels for the pool are always provided.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

HAD AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STAY

  • 5 of 5

Staying at this Woodland Hills mansion was definitely the best choice we made, when visiting Los Angeles. Its so private, and the house is so spacious, that we felt so relaxed and at ease while staying here. There are so many bathrooms and rooms, that your whole party can spread out and not be all in each others way.

The view is absolutely to die for you. You can see the whole San Fernando Valley and even beyond. The house is perched on top of a hill, and is like its own hideaway! With a private coded gate and long driveway, you feel like a celebrity, driving towards the house.

The kitchen is a true chefs kitchen! It has everything a restaurant would have, even restaurant quality and style fridge and freezer. And a huge bar counter. Where we would pop open a few bottles of wine and have long chats while preparing dinner.

The pool area, we nicknamed the mini playboy mansion, has a mini grotto area, and a huge lawn. We would sit out by the pool area and eat our dinner's watching the lights of the city.

The master room is the whole top floor. It is humongous. It has a shower that could probably fit like 10 people in it, and a balcony that overlooks the front of the house. We would often have our coffee on this balcony in the morning and watch the sun peeking through the tree's.

There's a pool table, pinball machines, and even a stripper pole in the back room! The house is classy, but also so much fun! It would definitely be PERFECT for huge parties, and weddings.

There is so much parking, which was great when we invited friends we knew in town to come over and visit.

Mike, the property owner, was just amazing throughout our whole stay and even after our stay! He made sure upon arrival that everything was clean and spotless. We had towels, and blankets, and pillows, everything. He even left a bunch of welcome home goodies in the kitchen for us. Chocolates and wine and fruit! Even after our stay he made sure we enjoyed ourselves and everything went well and we were happy.

And we are! Very happy! Definitely will stay again. We already booked a week in March and April!

Perfect for a fun and relaxed wedding!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I contacted the owner, Michael, 9 months before our wedding date and he was happy to assist us. We were planning our own wedding and searching for a beautiful, relaxed, private setting for our ceremony and reception. This house was just what we were looking for!

Michael was extremely helpful and prompt in answering all of our questions about the house. We live on the east coast, so trying to plan and prepare without visiting the house involved many inquiries, and Michael was patient and helpful throughout. After our arrival, he continued to be quite helpful, coming by when there were any house issues, and quickly responding via text to our simple questions and requests. He was very flexible and easy to deal with, even accepting our chair/table delivery shortly before we arrived for check in!

The local vendors (nearby Cafe Fiore; equipment rental; shuttle service) had no trouble finding the place.

As for the house, the photos don't do it justice. It is GIGANTIC with PLENTY of room for our 80 guests. We held our ceremony on the lawn to take advantage of the gorgeous view. The ground was a bit uneven in places, so be aware that chair placement (and elderly guests) may have a few issues. I removed my heels and could walk down the aisle no problem, but if that's not an option, consider wedges or Solemates.

The PA system actually only runs by the pool, in the pool table room, and in the dining room. We needed it in to reach the bar, patio room, and ceremony in the yard too, so we had to rig our own speakers/wires to do so. Just something to be aware of.

Our guest list grew larger than originally expected, so some dinner tables were placed outside on the patio, and the rest were inside the patio room (we were lucky it was a very warm night in February!). We served our dinner buffet style, and there is a HUGE long counter in the kitchen which worked perfectly for this. The seating throughout the house allowed guests to find their own private conversation areas and activities before & after dinner, which was nice. With the doors open, the flow from pool-table-room/outside-patio/bar/patio-room worked perfectly, and people were able to mingle and dance well. All in all, I got nothing but compliments from our guests. They loved the house and it's history and had a great time.

If you can adjust and roll with some of the quirks and character of it, I would HIGHLY recommend this house for a wedding, family reunion, or similar celebration.

Beautiful views with stellar amenities.

Michael's responsiveness and clear rules made our trip enjoyable. It was so cool to be in a house with so much history. We spent the majority of our time in the amazing kitchen and hot tub... Thank you so much for allowing us to stay!

Good location Decent House

  • 3 of 5

We stayed at this house for a Family celebration for my parents 50th anniversary this summer. The positives are that Mike was very accommodating and nice, the location and view is pretty nice, and the price was right. But it wasn't the cleanest property by any means. Scrap pile right in the driveway. Peanuts and stuff crammed in between seat cushions. Bedrooms were very, very shabby. And by the way, I'd like to see the verification that this was in fact Sinatra's mansion. Look at all of his biographical info and there's no mention of it alongside his other properties. Bottom line, this would be a great place to throw a party to bring in 50 20 somethings and charge them 30 bucks a head. But not for a family vacation

When you want to feel like a Rock Star...

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this place for 5 nights with 15 other people. Honestly, we could have had 5 more and not noticed a difference. The place is huge and has a million couches. It was definitely the nicest house I've ever been inside of. It's exactly like the pictures except BIGGER. There were only two downsides that I can think of: One, you can't really walk places. Though lots of stuff is only a few minutes away when driving. Two, there are things you're not supposed to touch. The house is used for events so there are features that are not turned on. If you have any overly-inquisitive friends (like I did) then it may get you in trouble. My best advice - text the owner with any questions or issues. He responds right away and he's really happy to help.

Wedding at the Penfield Mansion

  • 5 of 5

The Penfield Mansion is a great venue. HUGE kitchen, plenty of lounge areas to hang out in, one with a pool table, there’s a bar with working pinball machines and right next to that is a marbled floor room suited for dancing. There are 3 bedrooms on the bottom floor so if you have friends over and they don’t mind sharing it’s perfect, the owner can provide extra mattresses. The master bedroom is the perfect place for a bride and her gals to get ready. Large bathroom, huge closet and the shower could probably fit about 10 people!

Our ceremony and dinner were held outside and we had about 70 guests. The chairs, DJ and alter all fit nicely. We had 7 round tables and the food was set up on the patio. Everything was in one spot so no one had to go anywhere. There are no lights outside so you’ll have to set some up yourself. A pool that can be heated by request, a grotto with a waterfall, a little golf area AND a trampoline, don’t use it. The one negative about the backyard is that the grass is a bit uneven. We urged guest NOT to wear heels and that worked, just be mindful of older guest, it could be really easy for them to fall.

PARKING. Parking is limited, you can fit some cars in the driveway BUT if you’re having an event with a lot of people you’ll have to use offsite parking and get shuttle service. You coordinate that yourself but it’s easy. Offsite parking is on the street along Pierce College, which isn’t far, BUT it’s next to a soccer field where games are played so it can fill up! Be mindful of that for day events.

Also keep in mind, this is NOT a wedding venue, it’s a home. It’s a lovely home but you will have to do some planning AND since the owner does book it throughout the year, you’ll have to coordinate site visits when they do walk-throughs for other potential clients. So get ideas and questions together ahead of time and see if your vendors can go at the same time. Take lots of photos for reference and to show vendors if they cannot make it. The owner was pretty helpful with answering questions like outlet locations outside, offsite parking etc.

All in all we loved the house, our guests loved the house, it was a cool vintage feel to everything with the décor and it provided a nice spot where people could have fun and dance in one area and then go and chat in another area without having to affect anyone else. It was a pretty memorable time and I really do feel like the Penfield Mansion played a big part in that. Have fun!
