Smart apartment, great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great 10 days in September in Krakow. (2 adults, 2 teenagers aged 19 & 17) The apartment had everything that we needed. The apartment did get very hot when the weather was good, but keeping the blinds closed and the fans on did help. We were out during the day so wasn’t a huge problem. We did have an issue with the wifi but communication with Janet was prompt and after a bit of negotation with the polish wifi provider we were back online. It would have been good if there was a map in the apartment with maybe local supermarkets etc on it. There was one just around the corner, but we initially set off in the wrong direction.

We initially got a taxi from the airport (£20) to the apartment but then walked almost everywhere for the rest of the holiday. It was approximately a 20 minute walk from the apartment into the centre of the old town. We spent most of the holiday exploring the city. I loved crossing Father Bernatek footbridge every day. Because of where the apartment was situated allowed us to explore areas that I don’t think we would have seen if we had been nearer to the centre. We got the 2 day Krakow cards that gave access to a lot of the museums / attractions. With careful planning we made good use of them. We didn’t need the cards that included transport. The Salt Mines and Auschwitz are a must to visit. We booked them independently and sorted the transport out ourselves which made the visits a lot cheaper than an organised tour.

Once we worked out how the trams / buses worked, they were very cheap to use. You do need change though, as you buy the tickets from machines on the bus / tram. There are some ticket machines at some main stops but we struggled to find these. We were lucky and got a weekend ticket for all of us for approx. £5. I found a good website that showed the nearest stop to where you were and gave you all the times of the tram / buses due.

Food was so cheap and the portion sizes were big. We could easily get a meal and drinks for the 4 of us for £40. There was so much choice.

We would definitely go back.

Great apartment in a great city.

  • 5 of 5

This is a well appointed apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The block is very clean with a lift to take you to top floor. The view over the river is great. Beds are very comfortable. The apartment is just over a mile from the main square but was a very pleasant walk. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Overall a lovely flat. Highly recommend.

Nice Apartment in a Great Location

  • 4 of 5

Very nice 2-bedroom apartment in a really good location. 10 to 15-minute walk through Kazimerz or along the river to Wawel and a few extra minutes to get to Rynek. We were a family of 5, with 3 young kids and found no need to use the streetcars, which were a block away. The area around the apartment is great - lots of restaurants and a few small grocery stores within a 5 minute radius. Apartment was spacious and clean and appeared to have plenty of kitchen supplies. The kids were very comfortable in the second bedroom, which has 3 single beds. The only suggestion for the owners would be to fix the blinds as they did not close fully in one of the bedrooms and the apartment was very bright by 5am so it made it hard to sleep in. Also, during 2 particularly hot days, the apartment got quite hot. The fans are provided but an AC unit would be great. Despite these 2 small issues, I would highly recommend and would stay there again on my next visit to Krakow.

Lovely apartment with great access to everything and an amazing view.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. The apartment was clean and well equipped. Most everything we visited was within a short walking distance including grocery markets, restaurants, Wawel Castle, the Main Square and Kazimierz district. There is a Metro stop nearby for easy access to further destinations like the train station and mall. We easily navigated the metro to the train station and hoped aboard for a trip to Warsaw. The View from the apartment is lovely. The restaurants in the area are delicious, we even dined on one of the boats docked nearby, that was extra special. We were three women traveling with two young children and felt safe in the area at all hours of the day, even late at night. The neighborhood is clean and peaceful. Don't miss the beautiful church just up the street. I highly recommend this apartment.
