My name is Kevin Maas originally from Cherry Point NC and son to a retired Marine Corps Colonel who now lives in Fredericksburg Va. I recently retired after 38 years in retail management and wanted start a new venture where I could continue to meet people and share my interest of the outdoors. My outdoor interest took me and my British wife Pip to East Tennessee nearly 10 years ago and we fell in love with how laid back and peaceful this beautiful area of the United States is. Over the years we have made many good friends in this part of east Tennessee so we decided to invest in a property where we could rent to other outdoor enthusiast who love being outdoors and in the wilderness. Pip and myself and our two four legged children Sasha & Major welcome you to visit our cabin and experience a 'Retreat to Relaxation'
Ask about Windemere a new rental opportunity coming in January 2013. 2 bedroom cabin located just minutes from Ambleside
Kevin & Pip Maas purchased this cabin in 2012

Very nice cabin, and very comfortable. A lot of space for the four of us. The deck was very relaxing and a view of nature..

We had a wonderful stay at Ambleside. The cabin was beautiful. My daughters favorite part of our whole trip was the hot tub and we did a lot during our trip.
We had reservations the week after the fire that destroyed so much of Gatlinburg. The owner Kevin was great to work with and kept us updated regarding the cabin during the fire. We very much enjoyed the cabin, it was nicely decorated and probably among the best cabins we have stayed in throughout the years. The bed on first floor slept great, I can't comment on second floor because we did not use it. The kitchen was better stocked than any I have stayed in with about every utensil you may need to cook. Some of the highlights were a gas grill, handheld shower head in walk in shower that was bigger than most standard cabins, DVD player in living room and a gaming system(we didn't use it). The hot tub was absolutely awesome, we sure enjoyed it after spending long cold days out Christmas shopping. The only real problems we had were the cleaning staff did not leave extra towels/wash cloths, the owner quickly rectified the problem when I contacted and cleaning lady brought some by the next day. Something to note is Google maps will not direct you to the exact cabin address, it tries to tell you to turn right before you get to cabin. It was exact until the last turn, don't turn stay straight and look at mailboxes until you get to address. Normal GPS may work fine but Google maps will not. Overall we had a wonderful stay and hated to leave at the end of the week. You also can not beat the special the owner had for November and December. We will definitely be looking to stay at this cabin in the future. Thank you Kevin & Pip for sharing your wonderful cabin with us.
Our family enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving holiday at the cabin. We had difficulty finding the cabin because we arrived in the dark but the owner was very helpful when we needed to call him for extra directions. The cabin is about a thirty minute drive from Pigeon Forge but this was fine for our trip. We met the neighbor who lives in the cabin next to Ambleside once but he was very nice and helpful. The area was quiet and we really enjoyed the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.
Ambleside was above our expectations. The jacuzzi tubs were definitely our favorite part of it all, but we enjoyed everything about this lovely cabin. Awesome place outside of the city but close enough to everything. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great weekend getaway.
