The highlight of our trip
I almost don't want to write this review because I'm afraid if too many people discover this place I won't be able to stay there anymore. First thing first, this is a small cabin, and the upstairs is definitely not for anyone mobility impaired. That being said, it is organized really well and it never felt too crowded for us (family of four). Beside that, it's so eye-poppingly beautiful outdoors that you won't really spend that much time in the cabin.
The property is so amazing. You've got a wide lawn, a comfy firepit tucked in the big moss-covered trees, and the river. Lord, the river. We planned on seeing about twice as much of ONP as we did because we kept wanting to go back and play in the river. It's crystal clear and deep. Fish were jumping constantly, and at night the same bald eagle flew low over the water patrolling for food. It was magic.
Also, it is within about 30 minutes of some amazing beaches, and within an hour or less of most of the popular ONP destinations. We did the Hoh River Trail and Second Beach and will remember them for a long time.
Mike (the owner) is super nice and when I had some trouble with my reservation details he worked really hard to get it all hammered out. He made himself available to us by text, but we never needed him as everything was perfect.
This place is highly recommended, but try to leave a few days open for me!
great little spot on river
Great little cabin in a really quiet part of the world - really enjoyed hanging out when we weren't on a local river. Was even more conveniently close to Forks than expected.
Peaceful and beautiful
We loved our time at the fishing cabin! Great location, it has everything you’d ever need and Mike was very helpful. We’ll be back!
Cabin in the woods
We stayed for 3 nights in August. The location was ideal for us in terms of accessing the various park areas ( hoh rain forest, beaches, lake crescent, etc.) We also loved having the house on the river, VERY peaceful. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. We were a family of four and any longer than our 4 day stay would have felt cramped. The house was clean and the owner was super attentive via email to make sure we were all set. If your looking for luxury this is not it but if you are looking to take in nature and see your kids put their phones down for a bit this is it. Oh and a tip - I advise plenty of time if using that combo washer/dryer.
Peaceful cabin in the woods
Quiet retreat right on the water.
Great for a couple!!! Very cozy!!
Very comfortable on all accounts! Close to all the great hikes and park features.
