Jim & Ann O'Connor
About Jim & Ann O'Connor
We are retired PA educators who grew up in York, PA. We are both graduates of York Catholic High School. Jim did his undergrad at Indiana State University and Ann did hers at York College. Together we have 53 years of teaching experience. Ann was first introduced to Chincoteague by her father over thirty-five years ago. As many say, it was love at first sight. During our summer vacations there, we would dream about owning a place of our own. After putting three sons through college, we made the leap and bought Sweet Retreat. We enjoyed every moment we could spend there. It was our happy place. In the summer of 2016, we sold our permanent residence and became full time Islanders.
Jim & Ann O'Connor purchased this House in 2008

Sweet Retreat is really Sweet
The properly was it great condition. Extremely clean and ready to go. The Owners have thought of everything and are quick to respond if any need arises. This was our third stay at Sweet Retreat and would highly recommend it or any property the O'Conners manage!
We absolutely love staying here! Everything thing we need is in this house and close to all the shops and beach. We appreciate you having us again!
This house was adorable and everything we needed for the trip. Back yard was quiet and private to sit around a fire. Inside was very up to date and clean. The bikes were so fun! We will be coming back.
Thank you Elizabeth! We were more than happy to share a little bit of paradise with you. Please do come back.
Girls Week Chincoteague
This 1950's cottage is the ideal choice for comfort and relaxation on Chincoteague. Away from the busy areas of the island, however close enough to walk or bike downtown or the shops and restaurants on Maddox. Myself and friends were impressed from the moment we walked through the front door. Nice decorating choices throughout and so many places to set and eat or kick back and relax. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated with the most comfortable mattress I've every slept on. Out of all the things we loved about Sweet Retreat, at the top of the list is it was so very clean. My #1 item on renting a place. You cannot go wrong renting Sweet Retreat!
A very cute house with everything you need. Plenty of porch space front and back to be able to relax outside but still avoid the mosquitos!! Easy to book with and ask question if needed.
Sea food fest
We were very happy with everything, backyard birding is nice ,nice road going back to the house , we went to tour the light house , the beach, the ice cream shops , we did the sea food festival, I went to a really nice church thrift shop, and I meant miss Celia next door neighbor , she was very sweet
Enjoy views of the famous Chincoteague ponies on nearby Assateague Island.
