2 Double bedroom, 2 bathroom flat in the Italian Valdigne near Mont Blanc

Two bed apartment, two bathrooms, lounge with fully equipped kitchen area and fireplace with a private garden and parking space in the Valdigne on the Italian side of Mont Blanc. Great for ski trips, summer walking and mountain biking, or just eating, drinking and exploring the high Aosta valleys. Classic stone roof and thick stone walls but completely modern with wooden floors and distinctive character on the inside. Comfortable for 4 adults but not for pets.

The two balconies have a great view of the Lenteney waterfall and the Grivola while from a few metres away you can see Mont Blanc.

It is close to train, motorway and buses but you can't hear them. By car easy to get to Courmayeur, La Thuile, Pila, Cervinia and other Italian resorts with also La Rosiere, Chamonix and Argentiere in France within a day's ski trip.

Why Nick Mcgill chose Valle d'Aosta

Ease of access, near state road and so roads cleared in the worst snow. Busy community of mostly local people, the morning school bus is busy too. La Salle is much sunnier than the villages closer to Courmayeur which is generally colder in summer. The flat is bigger than most flats in the area and I prefer it to be comfortable rather than crammed.

Good apartment for a walking holiday

We stayed in the apartment for two weeks in August. Instructions from the owner and access to the apartment were easy and a dedicated car park was very welcome. The apartment is very well located for walking in the mountains. Some days we left the car behind and walked from the apartment, but most days we drove to the start of our walks, but usually only for 15 - 30 minutes. The Tourist Office in Courmayer sells a very good hiking map for 2 Euros. Unlike the previous reviewer, we found the main bed to be very comfortable (didn't use the beds in the 2nd bedroom) and had no trouble with the use of electrical appliances. The kitchen is generally well set up, although I would have appreciated newer, unchipped crockery and some nicer glasses. Villair, the village in which the apartment is located is very small and quiet. We loved listening to the local families interacting and the children playing in the evenings, but each night everyone went inside at 10.30pm so no problem with noise while trying to sleep. The supermarket in Morgex is easy to find, being located on the main road on the left as you head into town. It had everything we wanted. I would recommend stopping at the Cheese Factory shop which is also on the left before you get to the supermarket. Their cheese is fantastic and very reasonably priced (much better than in the supermarket). I also recommend a stop at the Cave Mont Blanc for local wine. Courmayer and Aosta are also worth a visit.

Cosy ap., tastefully, quiet, nice old village

The apartment is tastefully and fully equipped (dish washer, oven, freezer, microwave, water cooker), a lot of space to put your own stuff, the kitchen is a good place to cook decent meals, big fridge and everything you need. The living room is a fine place to relax, good furniture and enough lights. There is free Wifi (super). In the village some miles further is a nice little shop/bakery. The kids could play in the snow near the house, lot of space there.

The distance to the ski area (La Thuile) was fine for us, about 30 minutes, just enough time to wake up and refresh. Supermarket on the way home (from La Thuile). La Thuile is great for not too advanced skiers. Relatively quiet, lot of Italian speaking people (I love that!) and great restaurants. A lot of space on the slopes and you can ski to France (La Rosiere).

Negative issue are the beds. The bed in the "master" bedroom is hard, not comfortable, small and very noisy, the coatings don't keep your feet covered. The beds downstairs have hard mattresses, not comfortable. The kids had difficulties to sleep.

The things that were awkward on the house: how to turn on the oven and take care of some special rules about the use of different devices at the same time are awkward, but since the instructions are clear it is very well doable.

Owner's Response: It is difficult to satisfy everybody's taste in beds, some like the soft and some like them hard. As a sufferer from back pain in the past I much prefer a hard bed to a soft bed and the beds in my apartment are orthopedic.

Ottimo appartamento, quieto e completo‏

Abbiamo soggiornato nella settimana di capodanno 2016 in questo appartamento situato a Villair, piccolo borgo che non conoscevamo, ma rivelatosi molto bello, tranquillo e molto comodo dato che si trova a pochi minuti da Morgex e Courmayer. La descrizione nell'annuncio è risultata precisa e fedele; la comunicazione col proprietario è stata perfetta fin da subito: parla Inglese e Italiano e ha risposto celermente a tutte le richieste. Al nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato l'appartamento in ordine e pulito, completo di tutta la biancheria necessaria e ci ha stupito soprattutto la dotazione disponibile: abbiamo affittato parecchie case vacanze ma nessuna completa come questa; non manca veramente nulla.

L' appartamento è ottimo per le famiglie e la disposizione su due piani, con le camere da letto e i bagni a livelli diversi, consente di avere una buona privacy anche per chi come noi, soggiorna con amici. Lo spazio comune del soggiorno-cucina è ampio e arricchito dal caminetto. Nelle giornate fredde e piovose ne abbiamo apprezzato il calore e l' atmosfera.

Ci sentiamo in conclusione di consigliare questo appartamento dall' ottimo rapporto qualità / prezzo sia nella stagione invernale che in quella estiva dove si potrà sfruttare anche il giardino di pertinenza.
