About Clotilde Tamers
I am French originally and have been living in Miami since 2000. We had been dreaming of the property next to ours for some time. Went in went on sale, we made an offer thinking that we would enjoy the incredible tropical yard. But we happened to also fall in love with the house that was built on it. Built in 1947 it is a typical Florida Ranch house with gorgeous wood panels on floors, walls and ceilings and it feels like it "has a soul". I am thrilled to receive guests who will enjoy the beauty of the property as well as the house as much as we do.
Clotilde Tamers purchased this House in 2015
Why Clotilde Tamers chose Miami
The house was built in 1947, it is a typical South Floridian "ranch style" house, entirely decorated with wood panels (floor, walls and ceiling) made of "Dade Pine Tree" a unique wood nowadays extinct because it was used so much for construction in the forties and fifties. These wood panels give a unique feeling to the house and we would like to share it with our guests.

This lovely home It is located in a quiet neighborhood within a few minutes drive to all manner of shopping and restaurants. The large property surrounding the house is beautifully landscaped with all types of tropical trees and bushes making it private and quiet. The owners, Clotilde and Thierry, take excellent care of this home and are very welcoming. We look forward to our stay here every year!!
Great place to stay in Miami
This was a super nice property to stay at. Our family spent 3 nights here. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay in the city, this is it! The location of this house was perfect for day tripping to the upper keys, Everglades and sites within Miami. Chloe was great to work with and made sure our stay was enjoyable. Thanks Chloe!
Country in the City
This place is beautiful inside and out. The land scape on this property is true Florida. Its location is like your in the country but its perfect to get anywhere, Dadeland, The Grove, Beaches, just minutes away. Private with security gate and house. Will stay here again.

Just About Perfect In Every Way -- Country In the City
An amazing, comfortable and beautiful place. Three of us stayed at Clotilde's lovely house for three nights in May 2018 during graduation ceremonies at the University of Miami (about a 15-to-20-minute drive away -- when traffic is light). We had room to spread out, stunning grounds to explore with mangoes ripening all around. Many types of tropical trees and plants grow throughout the yard, and there is space to relax both indoors and out.
Inside the mid-century house is a great room, a well-equipped eat-in kitchen, an enclosed Florida room with a ping-pong table and desk, two bedrooms and two baths. There were four beds, three in one room and one in the other bedroom. Parking is easy. Clotilde, our host, was great, eager to meet us and make sure we had what we needed.
My husband spent some time in the morning on the patio reading and soaking in the south Florida ambiance. You feel as if you are in the country although the house is less than a five-minute drive from a major traffic intersection, and plenty of retail outlets and restaurants are very close, Whole Foods, Target, etc. Being so close to the Palmetto Expressway makes it (relatively) easy to travel to many parts of Miami and South Florida. But it is Miami after all, and awful traffic is a given. Strongly consider using Uber and Lyft some or all of the time.
Inside, the air conditioning worked great. Clotilde has worked hard to make sure the house has just about all you need. Also, the art and the books are exquisite. You will get an art education all on your own if you study the paintings, most of which were painted by a member of her family.
If a house this size suits your needs, please consider staying here. It would be a good base from which to explore and tour. We went to Matheson Hammock Park late one afternoon as sunset approached. It is not far and was a beautiful spot on Biscayne Bay. This VRBO house also would be a good place to return to while on a business trip. And if you simply want somewhere to relax, this lovely house also will fit the bill.
In short, five stars plus.
