Guestbook comments from the owner

Cindy,

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at High Country Heaven. The pictures on the internet didn't do it justice. Beautifully decorated, cozy and just the right size. We love the open floor plan and all the windows and even though it rained most of the time while we were here, it was still beautiful looking out the huge front windows. We hate to leave but we will definitely be back. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home with us.

High Country Heaven at its best

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed our weekend away and we loved our stay at High Country Chalet. CIndy was very hlepful and from the moment we booked the process was easy. We LOVED how clean the chalet was. We also thought it was well stocked and if we ever find we have a week to get away this home would be perfect. My son attends App. State and we had some cleaning to do at his apartment. We quickly finished that so we would enjoy the beauty we love in the mountains in Boone. We hiked Rough Ridge and loved taking pictures there as a family. We enjoyed King Street and eating at Melanie's, Wild Craft, Vidalia, and then Sorrento's in Banner Elk. We have already recommended this home to a friend.

Cozy Chalet made a great base camp for Spring Break fun!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four enjoyed our visit to western NC and packed in the fun! The ziplines down the street were great, and we visited Grandfather Mountain and loved the amazing views (more than the crowds). The Otter Falls hike in the resort is not to be missed! We ate in Boone and Banner Elk, and drove through Tennessee to Damascus, where we cruised 17 miles downhill on the Virginia Creeper trail. We visited the Blowing Rock and ate at the Town Tavern before heading back to the coast. This house was perfect for us. Cozy beds, very clean and we played loads of air hockey! The porch is serene! Only suggestions would be additional lighting in the room with the twin beds and smaller, less firm pillow option in master. We appreciated good communication with the owners and would recommend this cabin.

Very comfortable and well-kept cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and my daughter and I stayed for 5 nights. It snowed the day we arrived and we got snowed in for the next day - which was no problem as we made a snowman, cooked some chili and played some games. It was a perfect start to the family vacation. We loved how centrally located the cabin is - just 15 minutes to Sugar Mountain - and easy to take a half day to go to Boone and Blowing rock. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfy, the baths very clean and the bear theme is adorable. The cabin was private but not far from anything. We will be back!

Great time had by all!

  • 5 of 5

The property was very clean on arrival and had everything we needed. It sits high on the mountain in the woods. The driveway and its approach is steep but we have a truck. Unfortunately we were here to snow board but there wasn't any snow. We ended up going to sugar mountain for the day- they make snow! The snow was pretty decent in the AM but melted and was dirty and mushy in the afternoon. The next day we hiked Otter Falls in the AM then went zip lining at Hawksnest. We enjoyed both of these activities. We traveled to Blowing Rock in the afternoon to look at the rock and see the town (shops and restaurants). It was raining. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our chalet very much!
