Perfect location for getting to tube.Grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. Owners were friendly and helpful.Loved our stay there.
We've just had a fabulous week in London even though it was November! Jeannie and John (the owners) have set up everything you will need to enjoy your stay and have also provided lots of little thoughtful touches. It was cold outside but the flat was cosy and comfy and the showers were hot and reliable. We could access all the famous London visitor sights via the tube, only 150m from the doorstop. Gloucester Road Station is on 3 different lines and travel was so simple and quick. Buy an Oyster Card and its so easy. We enjoyed Hyde Park, Victoria and Albert Museum and also the Natural History Museum all within walking distance to the flat. There are loads of great cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby but we also enjoyed looking after ourselves in the flat purchasing food from the local supermarket, Waitrose, next to the tube station. This must be the best location in London. Thanks Jeannie and John, we hope to see you again on another trip.
The unit is close to the Gloucester tube station, literally 2 minutes walk. From Gloucester station you are basically only a few minutes away from all the major attractions in London. The unit could use fresh paint, but overall it's comfortable for 1-2 people. All the appliances work well, and the kitchen has everything you need. The neighborhood is super safe even late at night and there are some nice pubs and restaurants in walking distance.
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at Jeannie's flat in South Kensington. The apartment was very clean, well-equipped and extremely well located to get to the Gloucester Road tube stop (3 short blocks). It was on the basement level, but there was plenty of light in the front room and it was as described on the VRBO website. There were many restaurants and shops close by with a large Wayfair supermarket right by the underground station. Jeannie was very responsive to emails and questions, and, we were delighted that we had a chance to meet her before we left. The apartment has a good collection of London guidebooks as well - could have left mine at home :)
Would recommend this as an economical, but very comfortable place to stay in a great location.
I can't stress enough how good this flat's location is. Literally 5 minutes to Gloucester Road underground which is served by both Picadilly and Circle lines. Straight shot to and from airport on Picadilly as well as to Picadilly Circus. Circle line takes you to all the must see sights such as Trafalgar Square, Parliament Building, and Tower of London. The flat is on the lower level of a 160 year old row house so it is somewhat dated, but certainly usable. I thought the price was fair especially considering the location. One thing to be aware of is that the description on Homeaway website says there is a tumble dryer when in fact there is only a rack for air drying clothes. If your idea of coming to London is to see London this flat will be satisfactory. If your plan is to spend lots of time in the flat enjoying the amenities I would look elsewhere.
Location, location, location. Close to the tube, restaurants, groceries. Very comfortable space wise considering it's London. We have stayed in hotels in London and they are cramped. Priced fairly. Not a bargain but worth it. Only thing we didn't like was the water pressure in shower is low. Other than that it was great it also has functioning windows so you can get fresh air which is something I always must have. Jeannie the landlord is nice and helpful.
